The strategy of the APC is to announce fake results before INEC announces the original results, so they can cause havoc. INEC ARE Still collating shine ur eye. follow inec for real result. Press Statement APC's Fake Electoral Victory Celebration We noticed with dismay the desperate bid of the All Progressive Congress to discredit the final results of the governorship election in Osun state through publication of fake election results and celebration of false electoral victory. In the last four hours, the APC has been publishing several concorted results which are clearly against the reality of certified results been collated by the electoral commission . The party had brazenly assigned itself the task of collating and announcing results which are doctored and designed to undermine the credibility of the official results when finally announced. By circulating fake results ,the APC intends to prove to the world that the election was rigged even when in reality the collation process was yet to start before its illegal action. The party has also proceeded to direct it's supporters to commence celebration in towns and villages. Even in wards where the APC lost, the supporters followed the script by rolling out drums in celebration of a non existing victory. This is also part of a ploy to declare the final official results as manipulated in preparation for their usual tribunal battle. It is an elaborate plot to steal the Peoples mandate through the backdoor as the outgoing governor did after 2007 election . We therefore urge our teeming supporters to ignore the fabrications of the APC. We inform Nigerians and the good people of Osun state that the PDP is leading based on results collated so far and any concerted results has no basis in facts and legality . We await the official results from the electoral commission and we are convinced that the final results will confirm the electoral victory of Senator Iyiola Omisore. |

There's a pool in Israel in the Muslim Quarter of Jerusalem, called Pool of Bethesda, that is associated with healing. In Nigeria, rumours of mystical/divine healing waters have been circulated ever since the news of the river in Nachi, a community in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, became viral on the Internet. Already named 'Orimiri Jordan'[River Jordan], it has become a pilgrimage centre of sorts, playing host to people from all parts of the country. The river which just "popped up" from no where is said to be nick-named "Pool of Bethsaida" and appears every 20 years, as confirmed by the indegenes, this year the pool was discovered by Fulani herdsmen who were on their way to feed their cattle. According to them, they passed the spot where the water usually came from and there wasn't any water, but on their way back they discovered the whole place has been covered with water. The river which do appear once in 30yrs is said to possess "healing powers" and people do flock there once it appears. According to the oldest man in the community, the water appears every 20 or 30 years, they first saw it in 1971. He also confirmed that various diseases and ailments have been cured at the pool. Most people who visited the area gave testimonies on how they received healing from the water. Pictures of the healing water is spreading real quick. My wife and I just got married , I am 45 and she is 26. We moved into a new apartment which needs a lot of plumbing work so I hired this plumber. I swear the guy is handsome and younger than me but that's not my problem. Anytime I return from work I come and meet him half naked sweating with his six packs and my wife will also be in our bedroom sweating with a cloth around her. I think its the ventilation in the rooms, so I want to buy air conditioners and fix in all the rooms. Please, which brand do you suggest I buy? www.facebook.com/papaakpos |
LAGOS — Lagos based lawyer and activist, Barrister Bamidele Aturu, yesterday, dismissed the Federal Government’s sack threat to striking university lecturers, saying that government has failed to appreciate the rot in the university system. Rather, he said government should meet the demands of Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU. Aturu, who spoke at the 6th Annual Law and Social Development lecture and public presentation of a book, ‘Law and Practice of the National Industrial Court,” at Lagos Airport Hotel, said it is “sad” that the Fededral Government has failed to appreciate the rot in the university system which ASUU wants corrected,” adding that members of ASUU would not be cowed by such threats. Condemning the “resume or be sacked” order, Mr. Aturu said: “The truth of the matter is that we no longer have universities in Nigeria. This explains why many people among the ruling class have their children and wards in foreign universities. “The demands of ASUU in my view are legitimate and patriotic. The government should do everything possible to meet those reasonable demands in order for our schools to be reopened as quickly as possible.” He recalled attempts by previous military governments to cow ASUU which failed, and warned that the threat of the education minister will also fail. The guest lecturer, Professor Sofiri Joab- Peterside of the Department of Sociology, Universtity of Port Harcourt, who spoke on ‘The Economy, the Rogues and the Law: The Development Conundrum,’ noted that, “the average Nigerian lives on less than one dollar a day. There are no roads, just as the public hospitals themselves are “dead” and the high education sector practically broken with ASUU on strike for more than four months over the Federal Government’s unfulfilled agreement, while the culture of impunity has become an integral part of the norm of political appointees.” Also, Barrister Aturu, who insisted that those responsible for the accident that killed Professor Festus Iyayi be brought to book, said, “Iyayi did not die in an accident, he was murdered, pure and simple. “We reiterate our call for the driver of the escort vehicle that snuffed the life out of this noble champion of the oppressed to be fished out and prosecuted. They may have privatised the economy; we won’t let them privatise our lives.” He also dismissed the on- going National Conference, saying that it will not achieve the objectives of the original proponents of the idea. Though, he spoke against the decision to boycott it, suggesting that progressive organisations should use the forum to state their views on the state of the nation. Professor Sofiri Joab- Peterside, also a guest speaker lamented that Nigeria has been unable to make any remarkable development as a result of corruption . SOurce www.facebook.com/papaakpos |

Yola: Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State has come down hard on the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and its leadership, saying that no decent people will want to remain in the party with the way it is being run. The Governor insisted that the PDP and its leadership has disappointed Nigerians both at home and in diaspora by their high level of impunity and injustice coupled with complete absence of internal democracy and rule of law. "No Nigerian no matter his level in the society today is comfortable with the way and manner the country is drifting. The image of the country is completely eroded at the international level and yet the PDP led government and its operators are in Abuja making noise", Nyako fumed. Nyako spoke in an interview with newsmen on arrival from Abuja at Yola Airport. Nyako whose official car was still bearing the flag of PDP said his continuous stay in PDP would not be possible in view of the way some people in Abuja are running the party in the state after the final decision of their group to pitch tent with the APC. Nyako cited the dissolution of Adamawa executive of the party by "the decision of one man", adding that all committees set up to look into that action by the President recommended for the reversal of that decision to dissolved the state executive of the party but no action was taken. "We have written the (PDP) several times over this injustice and impunity. We have been negotiating for the past one year. We have been meeting with them but no positive result", Nyako said. On the decision by some G7 Governors to disassociate themselves with the merger, Nyako said the said Governors would soon join the band wagon pointing out that they were just taking time to make consultations with their people. "It is not possible for decent people to remain in PDP with the way its being run. Any decent man cannot remain in this party", Nyako said. He announced that part of the agreement reached with the APC was that the Governors would be the leaders of the party in their respective states. Governor Murtala Nyako disclosed that the way forward on his entry into the APC will be sealed at a meeting of stakeholders of the party in the state soonest SOURCE: www.daillybook..com/2013/11/no-decent-people-will-remain-in-pdp.html?m=1 |
Idreez Popoola. A Nigerian, living illegally in the United Kingdom and who was twice spared deportation has been convicted and sentenced for rape. According to Mail Online, Idreez Popoola, 34, will finally be sent back to Nigeria when he is released from a seven-year jail term imposed after the attack on his victim's home. A court heard that Popoola came to the UK on a 12-month visa in 2005, but when it expired he was given permission to remain on a temporary basis. But when Popoola was arrested by Northamptonshire Police in December 2011 over an allegation of assault he was found to be an 'overstayer' – an immigrant who had not left the country by an agreed date. Although no charges followed the alleged assault, Popoola – by now married with a child – was told he would be deported. However, he successfully appealed the ruling, arguing that the Human Rights Act provided him with the right to a family life. Northampton Crown Court heard that Popoola, who worked as a nightclub bouncer, was granted temporary leave to remain in the UK again in January last year, after his family circumstances were taken into account. But 11 months later he went on to brutally rape a woman in her own home. The court heard Popoola met his victim while working as an agency-employed bouncer outside Bar So in Northampton town centre. Popoola, who sold mobile phone top-up cards in Nigeria before moving to the UK, is thought to have lived in Oxford before settling in Thornton Heath, South London, where he trained as a bouncer and gained work with an agency which supplied a Northampton nightclub. Gordon Aspden, prosecuting, said Popoola met his victim at a McDonald's restaurant in the town. After going back to her home he attacked her, then forced her to drive him to a train station. Popoola was sentenced to seven years after being found guilty of rape following a four-day trial. Judge Lynn Tayton told him: 'It was a serious aggravating factor that the rape took place in the victim's own home, as this was an abuse of the trust placed in you by the victim and has undermined her feelings of safety in her own space.' source:www.daillybook..com/2013/11/nigerian-jailed-for-rape-in-uk.html?m=1 |
No fewer than 200 Nigerian girls are trafficked every month to Russia for prostitution, the nation's ambassador to that country, Amb. Asam Asam has said. Asam, who spoke against the backdrop of consular challenges faced by the embassy, disclosed this in an interview in Berlin. Investigations reveal that the crime had decline in Western Europe following strict laws on illegal migration, and joint efforts by Nigeria and the governments of those countries to curb the menace. However, attention has shifted to Eastern Europe as the new destination for the trade. "The major consular challenge we face in Moscow is the influx of trafficked persons from Nigeria, not less than 200 girls are trafficked every month, and we have so many of them exposed to danger. "Some are thrown out of the window and treated harshly, there must be a way of stopping these racketeering , these girls are not tourists, students or government officials yet they are given visas from the Russian embassy in Abuja", "So far we have deported over 240 girls since 2012, you will be shocked, at the extend of resistance from the girls, we tell them Russia is not a destination for prostitutes yet they still come" Asam said. According to him, the mission tries to curb the menace by arranging deportation exercise for those caught, but the challenges are enormous. The envoy said such intervention would be more effective at the point of entry "the strategy is to stop them from Nigeria, and fish out those involved in the trade. "For instance a well known Russian human trafficker who has been in the trade for about 20 years was caught in Nigeria,'' "The National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons( NAPTIP) was on the verge of releasing her before I filed a protest from Moscow to the Comptroller General of Immigration," Asama stressed. He said even the parents of those trafficked encourage their children "I spoke to the mother of one of the girls and she said her daughter should remain in Moscow and try to survive the ordeal, this is very sad indeed coming from one's parent.'' He tasked the media on sensitising the public on the dangers of trafficking in Russia,"this East European nation has become a new destination for them, and believe me it is a very big crime here.'' Asam, however, said that other Nigerians who reside in that country were students, and professionals in various fields of human endeavours. http://daillybook..com/2013/11/newsover-200-nigerian-girls-are.html?m=1 |

Rev. Benedict Groeschel New York priest accuses children of seducing clergy men,who sexually abuse them. A Catholic priest in New York, expressed sympathy for some priests, who sexually abuse children, saying it is often the "young man" who is the seducer, but later apologized for his comments. Rev. Benedict Groeschel, 79, co-founder of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal in Westchester County just outside New York City, who expressed sympathy for convicted child rapist Jerry Sandusky, drew strong criticism from the Archdiocese of New York, and survivor support group networks of those abused by priests. "Suppose we have a man, who had a nervous breakdown, and a young man comes after him, in many cases, just 14, 16, 18-years-old, and they are the seducers," Groeschel said when asked by a reporter of the nation's oldest Catholic newspaper about his work with priests who abuse children. Groeschel, who has published numerous books and programs hosted on the Eternal Word Television Network, suggested that children can seduce the priests, because they lacked a father figure, and added: "They will not be thinking about getting into heavy duty sex, but only romantic, hugging, kissing, sleeping maybe, but not having sex or anything like that." On Thursday night, Groeschel apologized saying that his mind and manner of expression "Are not as clear as before." "I apologize for my comments. I had no intention of blaming the victim. A priest or anyone else, who abuses a child, is always wrong and always responsible," he said in a statement. "I deeply regret any harm I have caused to anyone," he added.source www.daillybook..com www.daillybook..com |
A man died after he dug his own grave at the beach. An exchange student, 20-years-old, from South Korea, died after laying down in a sand pit, 6-feet deep. He and some colleagues had dug the pit on a beach in Southern California. The pit later collapsed on him. The Oxnard Fire Department said in a statement that the Masters College university students had dug the grave while spending the day at Oxnard Beach Park on Wednesday, and the student was buried after climbing into it. Firefighters arrived and immediately began digging with hand tools, but it took 15 minutes to free him. CPR was performed on the man and he was taken to the Medical Center of Ventura County, but was pronounced dead at the hospital. The man's name and his home city have not been released because relatives have not been notified of his death. Source: www.daillybook..com |
A woman had been sleeping next to her dead husband's decomposed corpse for one year until authorities made the grizzly discovery this week. Apparently, 79-year-old "Marcel H." from Liege, Belgium, died back in November 2012 of an asthma attack, according to Carters News Agency. His wife was so upset that she failed to report the death andcontinued to sleep with the body until Belgian authorities made the bizarre finding on Tuesday, Nov. 19. They were led to the apartment because the landlord claimed the couple hadn't paid their rent since last year. Neighbors never reported a bad smell. The body had mummified. WARNING: GRAPHIC IMAGES BELOW "A body can mummify in a dry, warm environment," Philippe Boxho, pathologist at the Forensic Center of Liege told Carters. "It takes at least a week to reach such a state. In this case the body had rotten [sic] in the bed [and] his internal organs had melted and liquefied. … Even though the smell of human decay is quite specific, many people equate that smell to the smell of garbage and once the body has become rotten the smell does decrease significantly." Although this seems impossible, it has happened before. Dr. Christian Hansch with the Department of Forensic Medicine at the University of Antwerp detailed an instance of mummification back in the 1970s. The body of a man who committed suicide in the cellar of his home in Belgium was found mummified 14 months (or 433 days) after his death. Hansch attributed this to the dry and well- ventilated environment. "In such circumstances, the decomposition process is slowed down, while both drying-up and autolysis of tissues prevail," he wrote in a report detailing find. Last year, a Michigan woman was found living with her boyfriend's mummified bodymonths after his death. She had been cashing in his Social Security checks after he died, but she insisted she kept the body simply because she didn't want to be alone. She was later charged with forgery view pictures here www.daillybook..com/2013/11/news-widow-sleeps-with-dead-husbands.html?m=1 |
Almost 50 people were injured during clashes between supporters of Mozambique's ruling party and the opposition, hospital staff said this week, just days before municipal elections. The injuries occurred when members of the ruling Frelimo party and the opposition Mozambique Democratic Movement clashed during a rally in Gorongosa district, near the city of Beira. Residents of Gorongosa had started to flee the district, national television station STV reported, fearing an attack by fighters loyal to the opposition Renamo party, which is boycotting the vote. Renamo, Mozambique's largest opposition party, has 51 seats in the 250-member parliament. Its leader, Afonso Dhlakama, has been on the run since the military attacked his hide-out in the bush last month, after Renamo guerrillas launched attacks in central Sofala province, about 1000km north of the capital, Maputo. Earlier this year, Renamo was blamed for a series of attacks on convoys and railway lines. The former rebel group signed a peace deal with Frelimo in 1992, ending a bloody civil war. Renamo officials, however, tore up the agreement after the military took over Dhlakama's headquarters in Sofala last month. A senior Renamo leader was killed in the raid.
