This is one of the features we’ve been expecting WhatsApp to add for a very long time is the supports for mention in group chat. “Mention” features allow you to specifically address a contact inside a group to get their attention. Whether online or offline, the contact will get a notification of the mention. When you're in a group chat, try typing the symbol @ and you'll get a list of all the participants in that chat. You can tap any of them or just type the first letters of anyone's name and it'll narrow down to them. Select them and the name will show up as hyperlinked (blue) in the text entry box. Once you send the text, the hyperlink will still be there in the sent message. Anyone can tap the hyperlinked name to get to the specific contact's page details. This feature is now live in the latest version of WhatsApp beta v2.16.272 Meanwhile, we are still patiently waiting for the video calling feature. Whether FG tries to negotiate or not isn't
the problem. The problem is how the "born
to rule" class takes the rest of
us for granted.
.
Whatever is happening in
Niger Delta now isn't just
because GEJ lost the election, as many
insinuated. Far from
that. When Bubu got sworn in, he couldn't
wait to show his disdain for those he
referred to as "the 5%" who didn't give
him their votes, and who
shouldn't expect to be treated equally as
other constituents that gave him above
95%. That was a very parochial attitude.
Coming from someone who should be an
elder statesman, who is expected to
navigate the ship of a multi-ethnic nation,
that has deep suspicions of other tribes
and their intentions,
that was a very unfortunate and a very
misguided remark.
.
Asari Dokubo recently
commented that Bubu should look
elsewhere for the money he will use in
taking care of the "95 or 97%" that matters
more to him. Very few disagreed with Asari
Dokubo over this.
It simply showed that the
president is no more matured than he was
when he forcibly took power in 1983 or so.
Everyone referred to him as an ethnic bigot,
and he kept proving everyone right so far.
He approved a budget of billions to fix
Borno and adjourning states. He approved
billions for importing grasses and creating
grazing reserve.
.
These two projects are in
favor of his kinsmen and their private
businesses. Yet, he showed little concern
for the regions that have been the victims
of his savage kinsmen, the Fulani
herdsmen. He never
made plans for communal
farmers who have largely
been victims of his nomadic brethren. All
the money for these projects are coming
from the "minor and unwanted 5%". Does
that seem fair?
.
What's more, he keeps matching his words
with action. His appointments
into office of several heads of Federal
organizations just three days ago, were
mainly
people from the north. He
leaves no one in doubt that he thinks the
Hausas and Fulanis are superior to the rest
of us. He should learn diplomacy.
.
Governance has gone beyond the
economics and politics of the 80s when he
held brief. He
never even bothered to
undergo any self
improvement by way of
education and learning after he left office.
Well, we are saddled with this unfortunate
situation his narrow mindedness has
foisted upon us. I don't see a way out soon,
because Bubu is as stubborn as he is
ignorant. |

President Muhammadu Buhari said he would not be demanding any apology from British Prime Minister, Mr. David Cameron over his gaffe, describing Nigeria, along with Afghanistan, ‘fantastically corrupt.' Instead, Buhari said he would demand action from Cameron, by returning Nigeria’s stolen money and assets stashed in the country. Muhammadu Buhari made his frustration clear as he addressed a Commonwealth conference in London this morning in the wake of Mr. Cameron’s toe-curling gaffe. Clutching a glass as he made small talk with the Queen at a Buckingham Palace reception, the PM was caught on camera being indiscreet about the countries he had invited to a key anti-corruption summit tomorrow. Aides to Mr. Buhari, who has mounted a high-profile battle against corruption, expressed ‘shock’ at the unguarded comment, saying that Cameron must have been looking at an old snapshot of Nigeria. Buhari this morning refused to criticise Cameron directly when he was asked about the blunder at the conference. Instead, he said he expected the UK to help him reclaim Nigerian assets that had been fraudulently stripped from the country. ‘I am not going to demand an apology from anybody,’ he said. ‘What I am demanding is a return of assets … This is what I am asking for. What would I do with an apology? I need something tangible.’ Earlier, Commonwealth Secretary General Baroness Scotland said Mr. Cameron’s remarks had been ‘unfortunate’ and countries like Nigeria needed support rather than criticism. Mr. Cameron’s candid comments risked causing diplomatic ructions ahead of the major international anti-corruption summit in London on Thursday. As well as Buhari, and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani is due to attend. He has also acknowledged corruption in his country and pledged to clean it up. The gathering of the world’s political and business leaders in London will aim to ‘galvanise a global response to tackle corruption’ and is being staged in the wake of the Panama Papers leak, which revealed widespread tax avoidance among the world’s elite earlier this year. Afghanistan is at number 166 in campaign group Transparency International’s latest Corruption Perceptions Index – second from bottom. Only North Korea and Somalia, jointly ranked at number 167, are perceived to be more corrupt. Nigeria is at number 136. http://saharareporters.com/2016/05/11/buhari-i-want-back-stolen-money-not-cameron%E2%80%99s-apology |
A former Minister of Mines and Steel, Arch. Musa Muhammad Sada, has told the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, his involvement in the alleged N23.29bn poll bribery scandal. Sada is one of the former ministers in the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan who are being investigated by the anti-graft agency. During investigation, Sada disclosed that he was authorised by former governor of Katsina State, Ibrahim Shema, to collect the sum of N700m( Seven Hundred Million) on behalf of Katsina State and remit it to the former state’s Commissioner of Finance for keep for him( Shema). In a related development, a former Minister of State for Agriculture, Asabe Asmau Ahmed, from Niger State, revealed how she personally signed and collected the sum of N450m( Four Hundred and Fifty Million Naira).
