Politics / Is This The Real Future Of Our Nation "Nigeria" by bambuzz88: 5:37pm On Jan 25, 2015 |
Following the trend of various geopolitical events happening/that has happened in our nation got me asking some few questions which is critical to our future and development as a progressing nation 1, Who are Boko Haram are they greedy politicians or religion extremist preaching intolerance 2. What do this group gain from destroying innocent Nigeria youth, with all the killing of our past heroes(patriotic youth corpers, women, children and struggling workers) 3 Why do we still trust and support this politicians after promising so much and deliver so little ? They have left the youth more hopeless than you met them, they have separated them from their souls, broken their spirits and taken everything away from them 4 why cant the our leader in tenure eliminate all forms of National threat as a true leader of a nation IN THE NAME OF NATIONAL SECURITY They have claimed more lives than the spirit of death, They have deceived more people than Lucifer has ever imagined And deprived more persons of freedom than evil has Look. They aren't even ashamed of themselves when they speak about National Security 5 Why has Religions institutions (Church or Mosque) follow the path of irritating bigotry and Hypocrisy towards politics neglecting the main theme of religion that we are all one 6) which of the leaders profess the real future of Nigeria with all the corruptions and insecurities ad mist all the turmoils and economic recession eating up the nation at an alarming rate 7)Is this our dreamed Democracy?? 8 ) Is this the real future of our great nation we have been waiting for? these are questions from a patriotic and a sincere Nigerian youth Wakeup Nigeria and be Great again We the people lead, the leaders will follow |

The cut-throat power money holds over the people. With the way the system is currently set up, it’s almost as if people are intentionally pit against one another like a giant game of survival of the fittest. Like the famous line states, ‘the rich are getting richer, and the poor are getting poorer.’ Practically every industry today is fueled by financial gain. People are willing to step on whoever they need to in the name of money. Most unfortunate of all, we see financial interests literally wiping out the planet, destroying ecosystems and wildlife at an unsustainable pace. How did a made-up value system come to be the eventual downfall of the entire planet? Will mankind wake-up to its own insanity before it’s too late? How professional athletes are used as products. Enough said. |

Generation Notification'; the social media crazed population. Social media has undoubtedly changed our way of connecting through the world wide web, but whether or not this was for the better is debatable by many. Today we see a high percentage of youth and adults literally addicted to their phones, iPads, or laptops. It’s almost beginning to move towards the physical merging of technology and man, where the line between social media reality and the everyday reality is continuously becoming blurred. There are now multiple social media platforms available for people to get lost in, many of which are great at wasting our time aimlessly scrolling through a never-ending news feed. How will this relationship with social media continue to grow in the coming years? I’m somewhat nervous to find out… The innocent casualties of unnecessary war. How anyone could continue to harm completely innocent civilians is something I will never understand. Children growing up around the devastation of war are often subject to the by-product of war arms, i.e., radiation and firearm-induced amputation. Whether one supports the ‘war on terror’ or not, one can’t argue the absurdity of killing innocent children in the name of defending one’s own country. |

The censorship of free-thought and the consequences which follow voicing our opinion. In a nation stating itself to be ‘free’, it’s interesting how many laws, regulations and fear programs exist which limit our choices and thoughts. One can get locked away simply for defying their government’s belief systems. I’m curious how long people will continue to let this censorship take place. Religion’s ‘helping’ hand in poverty. It’s no secret that the predominant religious institutions are some of the wealthiest bodies in our world today. Yet even among all of the collections of gold and assets, their high-stakes morals, and their claim to be the world’s path to salvation, the religious institutions have failed to help solve the poverty pandemic worldwide. This is something they surely have the finances to, at the very least, drastically reduce. Ironically enough, many of the developing nations of people are enveloped in the lure of organized religion, following the teachings ever so diligently without drawing a connection to the fact that these religious institutions have the means to help, but simply are not. How female sexuality is used to divert the attention of a hormone-driven population of men. It’s rampant throughout all forms of media today. The hyper-sexualized image of women, used to stimulate a testosterone-driven population of men. Not only is this prevalent in the media but it is also commonly witnessed in various aspects of modern-day culture. For example, many restaurants or lounges force girls to wear skirts, heals, even boots, all to appeal to a specific audience. Female pop stars and celebrities are also usually exploited sexually in the mainstream media. Just another example of the dominating male influences at the top of the ladder. |

One of my first thoughts after coming across these illustrations was “how have I never seen this artist’s work before?”, because they are freaking amazing. Few too many artists today have the courage to tackle important social commentaries with their art. But Spanish artist Luis Quiles has undoubtedly broken this mold with his series of illustrations that depict a relevant and unfortunate reality for our world today. Through his art, Quiles challenges a wide range of controversial issues ranging from over-the-counter drug addiction, censorship and corruption to sexism, violence, child abuse, and most pertinent of all, our cultural social-media-crazed obsession. There is something raw and hauntingly telling about the commentaries being expressed through each illustration, perhaps in part due to the apparent truth that exists in the messages. Many of them are difficult to look at, but all of them stand as an accurate representation of the conundrums which plague our world today. Take your time with this one to enjoy these fantastic pieces of art! And lastly, viewer discretion is advised. *Edit: Art is open to subjective interpretation, and these are just my interpretations of Quiles’s art. Feel free to share your take on the illustrations The force-feeding of cheap food to the docile and lethargic public. With the cost of living continuing to rise at a rapid pace, and an economy which, especially in the U.S., is pushing more and more people into the lower socio-economic bracket, many families and students are basically being force-fed fast and cheap food as their only financial option. Proper nutrition keeps us running at our optimal cognitive and energetic capacities, a lack of nutrition keeps a nation lethargic and docile. 1 Like |

4. LaPerm Here is some history of the origin of this breed. It appeared in 1982 by the spontaneous mutation, all the kittens in the litter were normal, but for the one. The owners, Linda and Richard, were surprised to see a bald kitten with tabby spots on skin. With the course of time that she grew up, soft and curly coat appeared, so she was named Curly. At the same time this explains the name of the whole breed – LaPerm. Curly lived as an ordinary cat, receiving no special treatment from owners. The couple didn`t try to start a new breed, but also didn`t spay her. After Curly got pregnant, her 5 male kittens were born with the same mutation. And that was actually the start of the new breed – LaPerm. Their character may be described as calm, moderate, friendly, without any extremes. But notice that they are not that soft as you might have imagined, it`s just the other way around because of the curls. People allergic to cats will find this breed becoming as they do not provoke sharp allergic reactions and are thought to be hypoallergenic. So this cat breed is exactly what you need. 5. Scottish Fold The first thing that strikes your eye is folded ears. This happens because of the dominant gene mutation which makes the ear cartilage to bend forward and down. Because of that many people say, the Scottish remind owls. These cats are never annoying, they are very soft and plush, so you want to touch them and flatter all the time. Even their meows and purrs sound differently in comparison with other breeds. You`ll find them hanging around the house and lying in funny unusual positions. One of them I call “Buddha”, when they lie on the back and spread the hind legs, while forelegs remain on the chest. They are not independent as all other cats are; Scottish folds are loyal and affectionate to their owner, they will always follow you in the house and be near. This breed may be of various colors and with different fur length: short or long. And I can`t fail to mention their eyes. When they look at you, they are so cute, so innocent and leave you defenseless, you`ll just start flattering him. 6. Khao Manee These cats are not easy to describe, they have their own peculiarities, features of character and special peculiarity in appearance. The breed takes its origin from Thailand and its name means “White Gem”. In different parts of the world they are called “Diamond Eyes”, as these cats may have blue, gold eyes, moreover they may also have eyes of different color: one blue, one gold. The cats with odd eyes are the most popular, preferable and precious. As for their character, Khao Manees are known to be smart, active and communicative. You can recognize Manees not only by their eyes but also by the snowy white fur and pink paw pads. There are no other features that could distinguish them from ordinary domestic cats. These cats like to cuddle in your lap and cry loudly to get what they need. It`s an ideal breed to be a family member of full value. Being widespread in Thailand, the breed was not recognized in the west until TICA gave them status of “Preliminary New Breed” in 2011. |

2. Cornish Rex The coat of any cat has three layers: the outer, the guard hair, then, the middle, which is their “own” hair and, finally, the lower layer, the down hair or fur. What makes Cornish Rex peculiar is that they have only down hair. That`s why they are irresistible to touch, they are soft like teddy bears. Another unusual thing about them is that sometimes Rexes may have curly fur. But, notwithstanding their hair, this breed is not adapted to live outdoors. They are always there where it is warm, by your side, on the couch or on your lap. You`ll notice them smelling like cheese, that is because these cats have a gland in the paws, which other cats do not have. These cats are known to be playful, it takes them a little bit more time to become adult so they will behave like a kitten for some time. If you want to have this one, you have to be ready to see them running in gallop. The cats of this breed are extremely active, even sporty, so to say, they run, race, jump high, fetch and sometimes contrive to do acrobatic jumps. They will be a real delight for a big active family, especially with kids. 3. Sphynx The Sphynks is definitely an unusual breed, but without doubt, it has its admirers. The main thing about them is that they are furless. They have deep heavenly blue eyes, they are sweet and playful, Sphynxes also like being beside his owner, loneliness is torturous for them, they are also very active, so be ready to see them prancing about the house. Of course, characters may differ depending on a cat, but in general Sphynxes possess sweet temper they will be making you laugh all the time. Because of being furless, the cats get hot and cold easily, so at night they look for a warm and comfortable place to sleep in. Moreover, they can`t be outside, heating sun leaves sunburns on their skin and severe frost is fatal for them. Another special feature about these cats is that you should bathe them every week, as they are “naked”. There`s a common myth that it was the Sphynx that was worshiped by Egyptians but it is not true. The breed appeared in `70s so, it stands to reason, that Egyptians could not have it. In any case, world history has many things to say about hairless cats through the ages. The breed itself took a long way to be accomplished and come in the exact appearance as we see it today. Numerous mistakes are spinning around these cats. Most of us are sure that they are completely hairless, but that`s not quite so. Sphinxes have hair around ears and mouth; they may have peach fuzz and whiskers. Another prevailing myth is that the breed is hypoallergenic. Many people with an allergy to cats, in fact are allergic to the skin oils but not to the fur itself. If you decided to take Sphynx to your place, you would better consult doctor first. Being so special and unlike others, Sphynx will definitely win your heart. |

The cats that we are used to see at our houses are absolutely unlike those, which I`m going to talk about now. Their look, behavior, habits are unusual for us. These extraordinary cat breeds will be appreciated according to their deserts by cat owners. These animals have their specific character and can suit not every home and person`s expectations. But anyway, let`s get acquainted with them! 1. Savannah cat That is a relatively new breed and it was recognized only in 2001 by the International Cat Association (TICA). Savannah Cat is a mixed breed of a serval and a domestic cat. A serval is a slender African wild cat with large ears, long legs, and a black-spotted orange-brown coat. That`s why Savannahs weight up to 30 pounds. Despite the fact that there is some wild spirit in them, this cat is more social and more loyal, like dogs usually do, than average domestic cats. It`s not an easy job to develop this breed. The scientists cross a serval and a house cat so the kittens are received directly, known as F1 generation. Unfortunately, it may take years for the kittens to be born, but they are half wild serval, half domestic cat. Because of this their price is beyond the clouds, about $30,000 for F1s. You can also get F5 Savannahs for $2,000. The price gets lower with every next generation, as they may be no more thoroughbred. Thus, taking into consideration everything said above, I can say that this animal is very difficult to find and get, but be sure, they`ll be the best friend of yours. |

Celebrities / Chris Brown Criticized For Tweet About Ebola: It’s “A Form Of Population Control by bambuzz88: 9:01pm On Oct 14, 2014 |
Chris Brown is a bit of a conspiracy theorist – that much is clear after today. As the Ebola virus seems to become more and more of a threat as time passes, Americans are getting more fearful by the day – even celebrities. This weekend we learned Iggy Azalea hurled an “I hope you get Ebola!” at a paparazzo who wouldn’t back down, her way of wishing the worst possible scenario onto his life. And now, Chris Brown has joined in on the Ebola conversation. The “New Flame” singer took to Twitter to express his thoughts on the epidemic that has taken the lives of thousands. He tweeted this morning: |

Millions of people never analyze themselves. Mentally they are mechanical products of the factory of their environment, preoccupied with breakfast, lunch, and dinner, working and sleeping, and going here and there to be entertained. They don’t know what or why they are seeking, nor why they never realize complete happiness and lasting satisfaction. By evading self-analysis, people go on being robots, conditioned by their environment. True self-analysis is the greatest art of progress. |
