Many Nigerian women since the days of our parents have been going to work and coming back home to fix meals for their husband and kids, they aren't dead but still living their lives and building their homes, they not complaining - even most of the married and working women here on NL family section do the exact same thing in their homes but only come online to preach 'heresy' and lead the naive and highly impressionable folks astray.


Now let's do a reality check to see if you don't have your head so far gone up your azz;
How many married women with husbands who work and earn well, take care of the bills themselves without any input from him?

In fact I can bet you that in situations where both husband and wife work, the husband still bears more of the bills and expenses...do you disagree?

I disagree , in those days our mothers did jobs like teaching or working in the civil service where they close like 4-5 pm so they get home before the husbands and have time to do household things. Now most women are doing jobs where they leave home as early as the man and they get back home around the same time in the night.

Yet the lazy Nigerian men want to sit on their bums and do nothing while the same woman who worked the same hours as you at the office is expected to take care of everything at home and then those same men will be going about shinning about how their wives no longer take care of themselves and are looking haggard . Why won't she look haggard when she's working almost round the clock while the man doesn't lift a finger.

The women in the west are able to balance things in the home front because their men contribute on the home front. And yes the women I know that work pay equal bills as their husbands .

By the way intelligent people are able to make their points and have a civilized discussion without insults

I agree with you, most of them are hypocrites who want to have their cake and eat it too.

They want Nigerian women to pay bills like the western women yet they don't want to contribute to household chores like western men do in return. It's like Nigerian men think the women have some supernatural powers, she's supposed to go out in the morning just like him to earn money and then come back home in the evening after sitting in the traffic for hours just like him. Yet he expects that when he gets home his dinner should be waiting she'll be the one to feed the children, help them with homework, do laundry etc the list is endless.

Men in the west understand that when a woman works just as hard as you do to help pay bills then you need to pitch in on the home front and not tell us how you are doing her a favour by cleaning the house you contributed to dirtying or washing the dishes . If you want women to take financial responsibilities then you need to pitch in on the home front , it's hypocritical to want the benefits if modernity but when it's time for you to do your part you then want to stick to traditional roles make up your minds

Sömetimes wives deny sex to their husbands to blackmail them forcing them to take this step.
Its better to rape your wife than to visit a prostitute or have extramarital sex.
If a woman dutifully fulfills her responsibilities, such a situation wont arise where a husband has to force himself on her.

I feel marital rape shouldn't be regarded as a crime, and the courts should see the reason why the husband was induced into taking this drastic step!

Why would any sane man force himself on his wife. How can you enjoy the sex when your wife is in pain and crying There is never any justification for marital rape. If your wife has been withholding sex why not communicate with her and find out the problem? If the situation persists after that then you can call in parents to mediate or your religious leaders. Point is there are always better ways to resolve the issue without hurting your wife just so you can have your way. No one has any right to ever rape anyone regardless of if she's your wife or not
