GuyfawkesAB:
You have only been presenting your position with rants out of the hole in your black behind.

What would you Igbos be today without Samuel Ajayi Crowthorne who went on an expedition to bring your people out of darkness?

He gave the Igbos the lexicon, alphabets and writing system of their language, publishing a Primer and giving the light to education to your people.

If not you will still all be gathering to wrestle in the village square hiding behind raffia-clad huts at the sight of civilised people
Besides been a shameless distortionist, you are one protuberant idiot, which useless Ajayi Crowther gave Igbos their lexicons and alphabets? where do all these imbeciles emerge from to spread their seeds of audacious stupidity on nairaland for crying out loud? Smh
PoliticsRe: 1966: The Murder Of Brigadier Samuel Ademulegun And His Pregnant Wife by Bane2020: 10:47pm On Mar 08, 2018
There are moments to be brave and moments to be smart (yes sometimes you have to play a coward to be smart, doesn't make you a coward... Just makes you a strategic thinker). Unfortunately Brigadier Ademulegun wasn't a smart one, so you were faced with a team of machine gun wielding soldiers trigger ready on a mission, whom at that point had no rational or moral sense of right and wrong... yet you neglected the fact that you had a pregnant wife whose life and that of the unborn babe depended on your better judgment as a father and husband before a battle ready soldier,, odds were heavily against you in a gunfight with 6 well armed soldiers against you and a service pistol... and he still went the way of the "proud brave" soldier... And the result?

Yoruba revisionists always think that they can turn history to favour them, who does not know that in pre independence Nigeria, Igbos where more exposed, educated, ambitious, welly travelled and adventurous,as its obtainble today.
The colonial masters were said to be more at home with Prof. obi, going by his exposure, training abroad and managerial know how, they couldnt risk giving an institution of that magnitude to an ill-exposed prof. Whom may plunder there legacy and in those days,as it is now,Yorubas are not so good in managing big establishments, they are more inclined to social life, wasteful celebrations(Owambe),extravagancy etc
Little wonder how multinational companies that where forcefully collected from whites, through an obnoxious law known as 'nationalization',formulated by Awolowo and co,which was hurriedly implemented in early 70's,just shortly after the civil war,so as to prevent Igbos who where just coming out of a bloody war, from participating in the bids. Fast forward to present day,all such companies as criminally acquired by Yoruba elites are all folded up or in the verge of collapse. I think most yorubas are bad managers, prefers partying to work,i stand to be corrected.
It's no surprise why the fear of "Igbo domination" was as popular as modern day pop culture back in the first republic... And can you blame the paranoia of the Yoruba and the rest of Nigerians at the time? I mean the best academicians then were Igbos, civil service was Igbo controlled, politically we held sway with giants like Zik(even though he was too nationalistic, was never his fan), military we had the best Sandhurst trained officers and NCO's, including those commissioned from the officer ranks... we were like first in everything even dominating our host on their own turfs in other regions... Little wonder Ahmadu Bello bluntly pointed out his ill feelings about Igbos natural proclivity to always dominate others in that interview with an European journalist which is still on YouTube, they always saw as as invincible, that's why the Northerners backed by the rest of Nigeria and foreign powers did all they could to exterminate the Igbos in the Nigerian Civil War, post war policies were implemented to reduce Igbos to beggars, but they only succeeded in one thing... Which was reducing our political status quo knowing fully well another Igbo attempt at rising politically should bring back the good old fear of Igbo domination... But they failed to stifle our glory in other endeavors of life cause we are NATURALLY a blessed race, too resilient to beg! Yorubas took over everything we left during the war and began the beautiful brides of the North with all the alliances they formed, yet Igbos still closed the gap left by the berth created by the war which destroyed the best cream of Igbo talents... we closed that gap in no time and today who leads in education, human capital growth index, sustainability and commerce? facts are there to know the answers to those questions

I still make bold to know no ethnic group in Nigeria would have endured 1/10th of what we suffered in that war to emerge unscathed few years later, even the Yorubas would have been an extinct nationality if they experienced the horrors of the war! Let's not even talk about Northerners cause they are naturally not resilient people
PoliticsRe: Sing National Anthem In Yoruba Daily, Gov. Ambode Tells Lagos Principals, Teache by Bane2020: 11:47am On Mar 07, 2018
I believe this so called bylaw will only be optional to non Yoruba speakers, more like an elective course of action for Yoruba speakers or anyone enthusiastic about learning the national anthem in Yoruba, I don't see any big deal in it, culture and language have to preserved either way.
PoliticsRe: If Nnamdi Kanu Succeeded With BSS, Will Fulani Herdsmen Attack Ebonyi? by Bane2020: 11:41am On Mar 07, 2018
SamoaJoe:
Why then will anybody put that fake news on front page? Even somehow, a thought like that crossed my mind because in Igboland, those ebonyi people are very wicked, unrefined barbarians.
I'm not sure where you are getting at with the generalization of a whole people as been barbaric, but I would humbly point out the fallacy in your statement.
PoliticsRe: If Nnamdi Kanu Succeeded With BSS, Will Fulani Herdsmen Attack Ebonyi? by Bane2020: 11:31am On Mar 07, 2018
There was no massacre in Ebonyi state, the thread created earlier to that effect was a colossal lie, there's a communal conflict going on between Ikwo and Izzi clans in Ebonyi... I hate the fulani menace just as much as anyone, but we need to be careful with sensational and unresearched lies just to suit our agendas.

Even if what you are saying is true, what is the cause of the clash between the two communities who are both of the same ethnic group. Where I am going with this is in response to those who think splitting up the country is a panacea to all our problems like that will stop two villages from killing each other over access to a dirty fishing pond.
The two communities have been at war with each other mostly over land, it's an age long dispute that has unfortunately lasted almost a decade now, the situation hasn't been helped by the incompetence of the preceding governments in the state that have more or less done Jack in providing the right security measures to stem the madness.

Alariiwo:
I don't need Oduduwa republic from your Ojukwu or from you Igbos..

When the time is ripe, I will get Oduduwa republic and more without war or blood shed. A republic owned and controlled fully by Yorubas and not outsiders.

Yorubas never asked Ojukwu to start any war on their behalf. So stop trying to whip sentiments in your favor.

I'm 100 times smarter than you'll ever be.
You can't get oduduwa republic, forget it mate... That ship sailed long ago and you are stuck in this mess called Nigeria... so discard for delusions of sophistry or whatever belief system you got going for you.

They paid dearly for Victor Banjo's life they took..

Benjamin Adekunle the black scorpion went berserk on them, killing all their men, male children and anything worth killing before Obasanjo led the final push that ended the war.

Ojukwu on a norm would have been executed publicly by firing squad but the coward was afraid to die after sending over 3,000,000 of his people to their early graves.

I'm pretty sure there were some Igbo soldiers working for the North against their people then, just like we see them doing now.
LOL revisionist of history, typical of your ilks. Unfortunately these are the distortions and half truths you will feed to your children and co-gullibles... thus passing on the torch of ignorance... pick up a book on the Nigerian Civil War and read, I can recommend several unbiased accounts of the Midwest invasion that were authored by people who actually saw and experienced the war, of course I expect you to lash back at me with the usual ipob nonsense, but I can assure you that I'm not going to debase myself to that level.

It's on record that Banjo retreated from Ore with little or no opposition from the federal side that was pretty much in a dispirited retreat, his reasons for doing so are open to debate but let posterity be the better judge of history.

Please disregard this report cause it is absolutely FALSE, those pictures are recycled gory details from the recent communal clash between two Ebonyi communities Izzi and Ikwo, I'm from Ebonyi state and I have these facts in full authority cause I come from one of the aforementioned communities . There was no fulani attack, ignore all these liars on Facebook that raise false alarms out of sheer mischief or sensational ignorance, not exempting the misinformed bloggers that scavenge around for news that sells just to make headlines, and then harp on these false reports and post them around just to create traffic on their blogs, a simple search on more credible media outlets like vanguard and daily posts should show you nothing of any fulani attack occurred.
