Well put.

nairalanda1:
Because you don't know history

France used to remove and replace African leaders. Example is what they did in central African republic. And their intervention in Cameroon in 1984 is why Biya is still in power today.

They can do the same to traore..it's not in their interest to do so. The problem is that can change tomorrow.

Even Belgium was responsible for Mobutu coming into power.

If we want to deal with tinubu, na we wey suppose do am. Not some foreign power whose Intetests don't ally with ours. See how Venezuelan opposition leaders are not benefiting from Maduro removal. And the USA was supposed to be on their side..

How our brothers Ndi Igbo lost favor in and out of their country because of new generation of greedy Youths is unfortunate.

Other Youths are prepared to fight back your social media audio. Go back home, review your strategies and accept your mistakes.
PoliticsRe: Rep. Riley Moore Reacts To ISWAP's Threat Forcing Christians To Convert To Islam by banku: 2:14am On Jan 02
You don't understand the penchant of these gullible people that want to become President by any means necessary or burn down the country.

When did Libyans realize they lived in Paradise under Gadhafi that was demonized before destroying the country?

The US rep. fighting for Christians in Nigeria do not give a hook about Christians in his own country except extremist Christian Right that call all others woke and left. Those Nigerians cheering for the destruction of their own home, will become the victim of collateral damages. Can you believe Netanyahu is now their champion after telling they don't have Jewish DNA. Even the real Jewish Black before Israeli are treated like dogs in Israel

Hoodrat:
Christian identity is invoked when it aligns with foreign policy objectives, yet largely disregarded when those same Christians appear as migrants, refugees, or economically displaced people from Africa and Latin America at the U.S. border. If faith were genuinely the organizing principle, protection would be consistent regardless of nationality or political usefulness.

In practice, this is not about “saving Christians,” but about selectively deploying religious narratives to advance state interests while discarding them when they complicate domestic politics. The contradiction is striking and suggests a broader strategic agenda, one that includes pressuring AES-aligned states and leveraging instability in countries such as Nigeria for geopolitical advantage rather than humanitarian concern.
PoliticsRe: Tax Laws: NANS Mobilises For Nationwide Protest by banku: 9:12pm On Jan 01
Pure madness. Do students pay tax? How many people in the whole of Nigeria even pay taxes? This was how they protested against food in school that prompted Obasanjo to cancel subsidized food.

Still waiting when Nigerians are going to protest against the highest emolument in the world salaries politicians get.
PoliticsRe: All Of A Sudden Yorubas Now Support Trump. by banku: 3:52pm On Jan 01
I am not Tinubu supporter or defender.

But he made it clear from day one that he welcomed help from the super power that would cooperate with his Government in intelligence sharing and weapons to defeat bandits and terrorists in anywhere in Nigeria.

What is so hard to understand in that?
PoliticsRe: War Against Terrorists: Jonathan/ihejirika Better Than Tinubu/US AFRICOM by banku: 2:57pm On Dec 30, 2025
People just want a peace of mind regardless of who brings it so that they can farm and retain their land. Unfortunately, there is a price to pay

If you do not allow local peace enforcement, foreign powers will seize the opportunity to make money and extend their influence. After all, terrorists are doing the same thing to make money and plant their influence in the Government.

EducationRe: Female Undergraduates Dancing At University College, Ibadan In 1950 by banku: 1:09pm On Dec 28, 2025
Many of you are distorting reality then to justify your own perspectives.

The fact is University students were more conservative then, dressed well and marry similar conservative partners. The women you see there exemplified their characters throughout their lives. They were pioneers in their professional calling.

Yes, there were exposures and skimpy dresses like "Bomfo" but not in university. If you want to generalize and justify skimpy dresses of today, you might as well go back to dances with breast exposed in those days or heavy beads "Ileke Idi".

Eddie Okonta had a song where he said: Ibadi re o, Ayakata. So please do not generalize. Women are more conservative in those days. They deserve the credit.

Later, if you want to see skimpily dress ladies, go to Kakadu and Shrine to see Fela's gogo dancers.

You chop 12 strokes of di cane in primary school, you say nothing do you. Na whose body e dey?

No wonder the Sultan of Sokoto is in hiding. The same broker negotiating the rehabilitation of terrorists.

Some people have short and convenient memories

NothingDoMe:
That's what was said in Gaza, Iran and other places. People even swore that the US government would not dare go to Venezuela.

I advise you guys to stop with the rhetorics. This isn't time for it. Point out the terrorist camps. Expel them including Gumi. NK is in Sokoto prison while Gumi walks free releasing incriminating statements and making the North a target.

Nuff said.
Actually, showing dead bodies of terrorists would only generate sympathy from their "they are killing our sons and brothers"

We now know some of them.

Madam, dis tin pain you gan, no be small. You must eat your words with that agbado if you can find or afford it.

Bombing is a double edged sword. You will get some of it. Again I hope the terrorists in Sokoto Prison are safe. Did you check?

MadamVanessa:
Typical backward agbado munching reasoning. I expect your likes to mount road to day with placard and protest shamelessly on Trump killing your fellow terrorists up north. This is just the beginning. You'll definitely convulse more than this in the coming days and months, because no terrorist and it supporters will be spared. For you own good and safety repent.
PoliticsRe: US Launches Air Strikes In Nigeria, Targeting ISIS Terrorists, Trump Announces by banku: 2:17am On Dec 26, 2025
First they seized an oil tanker around Nigeria offshore. You did not cry, wail or celebrate.

Next, they struck some ISIS terrorists in the Northwest at the invitation of the Government. I hope they spared Sokoto Prison where some convicted terrorists are kept. You want America abi?

When they seize another oil tanker in the Niger Delta because Nigeria Navy could not stop them, do not wail as usual.

They may even send some technical advisers to stop Monday Monday killings.

You will get what you wish for and more. Nigeria needs more American technical advisers. Just stay off the West.
Christianity EtcRe: What I Was Given At A Church Service In The UK (Photos) by banku: 1:46am On Dec 26, 2025
Well, there are kind hearted people even here in Nigeria, some believe in God but not in religions.

There used to be a time, some people look for every opportunity to feed the poor in front of their houses. They stopped when burglars started mixing with the crowd.

Op, I feel sorry because there are desperate Africans these days looking for food and shelter. It used to be a shame and you have to be desperate to look for toys, food and shelter.

It is not only the poor that are desperate these days abroad. I wonder if they ever recover from Covid19 days when beautiful cars lined up a mile to get free food.
PoliticsRe: Most Peaceful Region In Nigeria by banku: 12:41pm On Dec 22, 2025
Honestly, arguing with people who do not want to be convinced with facts is useless. The only way you know if they believe in their own convenient distortion of crime rate is why they run away from the beautiful houses they built there.

They run to Lagos. Even run to Abuja. Their rich and famous run to Lagos for peace of mind. Even their old professors and teachers retired in Ibadan. Why?

There is this Proverb that says - they leave leprosy alone, they are killing ring worm.

Nigerian Politicians are are the highest paid in the world through salaries, constituents allowance, staff allowance, projects and contracts.

Yet, tax dodgers left these alone because they benefit from it one way or another as cronies. It is taxes they hardly pay in an underground economy they are focusing on because the masses are:

a) gullible

b) naive

Is it not ironic that the same Nigerians willing to start from scratch even in small countries in Africa until they become rich and attract the attention of neighbors, as in Ghana or Cape Verde, cry for enabling environment at home.

Put most Nigerians in a bush around the world, they would turn it into business.

The first time someone said if there is a Nigerian anywhere, there is a way. I could not believe it. In a foreign country O!

Please do not get me started on how jollof rice become regular dish. Even rice was on special days.
ebukal67x:
You left out the part about how we can replace jollof with rice. But sha, nice write up.
Two or three graduates started garbage collection business in Lagos before they had to hire more people. Imagine what their friends and may be parents thought when they started. By the time they became big, more people went into it.

Blame your greed and overnight success expectations for a change, not the sorry character of the three Presidential candidates you preferred and voted for.

Many people make good points here; why we fail to see opportunities at home because the blame is ours. Those Indians and Chinese start from very little just like Nigerians that succeed abroad.

Some here are making the lame excuses Black Americans make about Nigerians and other foreigners in America. Easy loans, discrimination and lack of access to markets. Somebody here put it right. Where Nigerians at home complain of lack of opportunities, foreigners are willing to turn obstacles into opportunities, into markets, into one man business to many people's businesses.

What machine, technology or capital do you need needs to turn INDOMI and eggs into national basic food, replacing our tastes?

The amount of millions in naira people come on social media asking where they can japa to, Indians and other Asians use less to establish in Nigeria. They start by living on top of one another. This is how successful Nigerians start abroad but would never live that way in Nigeria. While Black Americans want to start and live big like Nigerians at home.

It is not only Indians, Koreans and Chinese that are making it in Nigeria, most other African do and are thrilled to get Nigerian VISA!

PoliticsRe: Tinunu Is Not Yoruba Ideal Leader But Still Govern Better by banku: 4:06am On Dec 14, 2025
You should be ashamed of yourself for writing that Igbo only ruled the country for 8 months. Ask your history teacher who has form Alliance with the North before and after Independence to rule Nigeria.

Ask about Igbo domination of Jonathan's and Obasanjo's cabinets.

The Tinubu you hate so much, could he be the same one you colluded with to replaced Speaker Olubunmi Etteh to install Tambulwa?

Brendaniel:
That's why a lot of your people hate Obasanjo and love Tinubu because Tinubu is an ethnic supremacist and OBJ is not, even one of your Obas called OBJ an Igbo man, secondly Igbos have not ruled Nigeria for over 50 years and the only time an Igbo man ruled was not more than 8 months, so pack all the blames of the destruction of Nigeria on other regions that have ruled since then..

Lastly don't console yourself with this write up, Tinubu is a Yoruba president why? Because he played the worst form of tribal politics ever known to Nigeria and that may rub off on all Yorubas both now and in the future though not all Yorubas support him but because he used the the Yoruba tribe to play politics then the rub off might go round, then instead of him even to even show workings as a tribal leader he is still performing badly, imagine some of your people rejecting Osinbajo for Tinubu and calling him Odale.

Doesn't it show that those your people just wanted as ethnic champion as president and not a president who will work for everyone, Osinbajo will have being a bit similar to OBJ and some of your people did not want that... they wanted an ethnic champion
