bro! Please what's the name if those LGs in Ibadan?, I'm suspecting some foul play by those interviewers using some means to disenfranchise people.one of the ladies viewed the list on her laps under the table for me not to see the names in the list instead of placing it on the table between us and said my name wasn't there and referred me to another LG.
I think Ibadan north east/north and Ibadan south east

Please I went to my LG here in Oyo state and I was told my LG has not been given any slot for the nbuild and just two LG in Ibadan was given one in Ogbomoso and one in Oyo making four LGs in the whole state.
I don't think its proper for a whole Oluyole LG not to have representatives in the programme

DON’T RETALIATE, DON’T SPREAD HATRED, ESCHEW VIOLENCE

15th September, 2017
PRESS RELEASE:
DON’T RETALIATE, DON’T SPREAD HATRED, ESCHEW VIOLENCE

There were reports of attacks on minority ethnicities in some parts of the country yesterday as a result of actions being taken by Nigerian security agencies against separatists and agitators in the South Eastern part of the country.

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) is irked by this ugly development. We condemn all acts of violence against fellow Nigerians. It is unhealthy. It is barbaric.

We strongly suspect that some unpatriotic elements are bent on destroying the good work of the Buhari administration. Having discovered that their sophisticated plot to eliminate the president failed woefully, they have decided to create tension and escalate violence to a level where there is chaos everywhere. Their Mephistophelean desire is to necessitate a forceful change of government. We must not fall into their trap. Let us stoop to conquer.

MURIC therefore appeals for calm everywhere. We appeal to Nigerians particularly Northerners to refrain from retaliatory attacks on non-indigenes in their midst. We must not play into the hands of rebellious subjects and enemies of peace.

Instead of attacking non-indigenes among us, let us form a ring around them. Let us assure them of full protection by our communities. Let us also create a solid police-community relationship for special protection for non-indigenes in all states.

Traditional rulers are implored to follow the example of the Sultan of Sokoto who boldly told Northerners to attack him first before attacking Igbos. The Emir of Katsina has also displayed exemplary leadership and rare patriotism by assuring non-indigenes of their safety. We expect no less from traditional rulers in the South East and South South.

We must chart the course of peace if we do not want to see Nigerians between the ages of fourteen and forty five carrying guns. We must sue for peace if we do not want our daughters and wives raped in our presence. Peace is the only choice before us if we do not want our children orphaned, 10% of them killed and a large majority of vulnerable people exposed to famine.

We all saw how Rwanda children and women became refugees. Sierra Leone has not fully recovered from the ravages of war. Liberia is a shadow of its old self. We will create the world’s worst refugee crisis if we allow this violence to escalate. No African country can help Nigeria because we are the big brother and the rest of the world will only laugh at us for messing up the golden opportunity which the Buhari administration gave us.

The Glorious Qur’an warns against vengeance and assures us that former enemies can become our best friends. It therefore urges us to ignore those who perpetrate evil by being kind to them (Qur’an 41:34). In the same vein, the Bible implores believers to forgive and makes forgiveness a proviso for receiving God’s own forgiveness (Mathew 6:14).

Both Christians and Muslims in this country must not allow the rest of the world to mock us. The world will ask, “Why are there so many churches and so many mosques in their country if they cannot follow the teachings of love, tolerance and forgiveness in their scriptures?” The world will call us hypocrites and they will be right. We must not allow this to happen.
Finally, we call on governors, traditional rulers and community leaders to speak up against retaliation, violence and hate speech. The time to do that is now. Let us remember Haile Selassie’s warning, "Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted, the indifference of those who should have known better, the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most, that has made it possible for evil to triumph."

Shittu canvasses support for Zinox, others

To further fuel the engine of innovation in the country, the Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu, has disclosed that the ministry plans to establish two Information Technology Parks in the country.
Shittu, who disclosed this during his tour of Zinox Group facilities in Lagos on Monday, said the two parks would be situated in Ibadan, Oyo state and Kastina, Kastina state.
Shittu disclosed emphatically that ICT been a knowledge economy holds huge potential for the country, especially in the face of dwindling oil revenues.
“ICT is a knowledge economy, which doesn’t fail like oil and even agriculture. ICT is the brain of development. It will continue to bring money into the coffers of government.
“The ICT Parks is expected to fuel innovations. We are looking at making ICT count seriously in this regime. The target is to bring student to the park to learn majorly ICT development.
“We hope that soonest, we shall complete all the modalities to get it done”, Shittu declared. While, canvassing for indigenous ICT firms including Zinox, Shittu said the ministry would give maximum support to local players giving support to the economy.
While acknowledging the minister’s effort, Zinox Chairman, Chief Leo Stan Ekeh, assured him of the industry’s immense support, stressing that the Group has capacity to deliver, whenever it is called upon.According to him, the economy will thrive better if concentration and support can be given to the ICT sector.

Govt "is meant" not "is" that is why I said so. In Naija today muslim have more preference than christianity, simple truth! Take for example (in many organizations) see the way people are permitted to leave work and go to mosque, in same organisation tell them you want to go for church program/prayer if you will be allowed.
the fact is dt everybody understands dt muslims are meant to pray five times daily while christians worship on sundays or saturdays as d case may be. bt if we ar to argue in dt we can say since sat and sun(dt christians worship) are nt working days officially then friday too shdnt be a wrkn day

You are saying harassment because it involved hijab, pudah and the rest............. information reaching us was that people gathered around 3, 4 5 am in the morning to get their names on the list of those that would be attended to, have to wait till 7:15am before given tally as a bonafide person to be attended to, wait till it is your turn if you are lucky.........

I wonder what that was........ Let the FG address the whole situation without being biased......

If you ask me, will tell you the state and the LGs affected

Let me give u an instance with something that happened in Australia. A nigerian travelled to australia a country he had been living in for 10yrs. He went there with foodstuff from nigeria and packaged them normally but australian law says all packaging must be properly done in original packaging for easy identification. He just wrapped them in paperbags and labelled them.

They stopped him and after asking him what the items were he said they were all food and they asked why they were not packaged properly so they would have to check them and run tests on them. The man started ranting and threatening to sue since its food he brought back for his kids. All his shouting did was to further land him into trouble by attracting security agents who now had to carry out a body search on him as his actions were looking suspicious.

At the end of the day the tests were done and the the test and search came out negative but their law was upheld.

When issues bordering on security is concerned nobody is excusable. Religion or no religion.... everyone must follow every security requirement for the greater good.
dt ws y i said earlier dt u knw little abt Islam, nobody is sayn they shdnt be checkd by policewomen or women in d armed forces because of d insurgency bt d way u talkd showed d high level of hatred u av for d religion

U seem to have a high opinion of yourself. Many of my friends are muslim but they aint crazy. I am not fanatical and if I am then its as a fanatical Christian which translates to me being very peaceful as unlike islam, Christianity is the true peaceful worship.

Fyi I am not Yoruba but can read and write it as well as speak hausa which shows I have mingled well. Wether we like it or not the truth has to be said... islam is a cancer.. it destroys... even my Bible condemns it but asks us to love them. I dont have muslims... I hate their beliefs....Muslims do not kill but their beliefs make them kill. Dwell on that quote.

Trashy excuse! Were these women born with veils into this world? Their faces had been seen and gotten tired of being seen b4 they began putting on thos veils. Or will people go blind if their faces are seen? Or are their faces made of gold that people would be tempted to steal them away?

NCC should just have muslim registration centers and Christian registration centers different from each other because we christians do not want to see any juju looking, burial ceremony dressed, face covering, black garb wearing boko haram candidate anywhere near us.

Dem no dey open their face inside their house? Dem no dey pull the yeye black cloth if they want to poo? How can I hold an honest conversation with someone whose face I cannot see but who can see mine.

RUBBISH!

In this country we have much ways classifying citizens.

I support this. No Nigerian should be disrespected because of her religious disposition.

Even though majority of us are bigots and can't even tolerate seeing women in veil, the government should be all-tolerant and balanced.

After going thru the standard security scrutiny, this women are simply asking for a private place to take off their veil. This isn't too much to ask biko.

We're talking about banning this veil/hijab due to its frequent use by terrorists then you're here defending a policewoman trying to ensure the safety of individuals. They should have first submitted themselves for thorough search, then if the police refuses or after the search, their requests weren't still tendered to, then we fault the police and telecom companies.

As for me, if I were in the north and someone with that covering comes to join a que with me, even if my turn is next and she stood very close to me, I wouldn't mind going to the back. As a matter of fact if I can't escape such situation, I might as well consider travelling out of north to do my thing. Can't risk my life.
dnt misconstrue me here,i'm nt sayn they shdnt subject themselves to security checks by policewomen, bt wht i'm sayn is u cnt choose to belief d oda news dan wht d minister said here because nothn tells u dt ws wht actually happend

were u there too? The fact that she insulted the policewoman and refused to take off her veil for the pix is enuf. Was she born with the veil?
offcourse i wsnt bt i told u i knw of some cases dt ws d way d minister said.he said this
“In some of the complaints, women in pudah were required to remove their veils in public despite requests by such women that a place should be provided for them away from public glare and for only female officials to attend to them. All entreaties by these women failed, rather they were allegedly accused of being Boko Haram agents and refused registration after several altercations ensued in some of the registration centres.”
