I've read about GSDs having different colours. Unfortunately, I lost the link but I did more research and got this....
1. Solid Liver male
2. Solid white 1yr male
3. Black and silver male
4. liver and cream young male

The German Shepherd Dog comes in
a variety of colours, coat patterns
and coat types. Coat patterns are
solid, bi colour, saddleback, and,
sable. Colours which occur are black,
blue, liver, silver, cream, tan, red, and

Caucasian are costly to maintain but they are wonderful dog breeds which people still love to buy .my 6 month Caucasian is a wonderful dog but am thinking of selling her because the cost of feeding is damm much...i spend about 15k Monthly on feeding and Tabs. but they are still Good dogs..

there are cheaper alternatives

I remember reading a thread where you, oluomoadebayo and some other dude where arguing about which dog is fiercest between Gsd, malinois and caucasian. You all couldn't stand down for the other because you didn't want to hear that your beloved breed is not as strong as another.

u are right...we did argue....9ce observation and I did stand down because arguing doesn’t make sense...loving ur dog is all that matters

In conclusion, I think it all depends on choice and experience, all the mentioned dogs are good dogs with different character. A good CO will over protect the house and scare of intruders with his natural instincts and size while others would get the job done excellently also. As for me , I prefer an average size dog with super temperament .

The GSD and Malinois are more pliable. They can attack/protect, but they can also be commanded to stop attacking without killing the suspect. Also, they are more athletic; they can take down armed suspects so fast that they won't have time to fetch, aim, and discharge their weapons.


The answer is no. They are bigger than GSDs, so the maintenance costs e.g. cost of feeding will be higher. Big dogs are expensive dogs.


They are more aggressive than the Rott and Boerboel. The Caucasian is the only breed of which not being super-aggressive is actually a fault.

Caucasian are flock guardian dog and they are good in protecting their pack but most of them bark and bite in fear and I have seen a lot of them with fear aggression while you guys think it's scary and a good thing to have. GSD is all round dog, intelligent ,protective and smart. i will take a confident sheephard dog over a Caucasian anyday.

for ur info; Caucasians are never fearful and even attack bears and wolves....YouTube is ur friend joor....And their brute force is just crazy....a man dared my dog in my absence and he was lucky 2 tell the tale....don't ever downgrade a caucasian. ..gsd is intelligent but not as bold and fearless

Hello Dog lovers!
It was our monthly dog exercise, so We had a successful dog walk on saturday. From haruna to ogolonto, then we assemble on d field at Government college ikorodu.

Its sad we lost the big caucasian after the walk because it was his first time to walk @ 2yrs old. He had lots of fat and couldnt walk. See 2nd pix attached.

Please let try and walk our dogs, it good for their health. If you reside around ikorodu and wanna join in our Sept edition pls watapp 08056265978 for updates.

My dog killed a large rat (ekute) the first time he slept outside. Since then he's killed a pigeon and two tiny mice, also outside the house. He didn't eat any of them, even the ones he killed after I started feeding him raw chicken or fish every day. He almost killed a pigeon that got trapped inside the house in my presence, but I couldn't bear it so I opened the windows to let the pigeon escape. He hunts all small animals, including lizards (I've not had the privilege of seeing any dead lizard that he killed). I'm proud of his hunting skills; he's a good dog!
