BABANGIDA ALIYU IS A MOLE IN PDP --- GOV WIKE Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has accused former governor of Niger State, Mu'azu Babangida Aliyu of being a mole of the ruling party in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He said it is unfortunate that the PDP has continued to allow the former Niger State governor to remain a member of its highest decision making body after he publicly confessed to working alongside others to frustrate former President Goodluck Jonathan’s second term bid in 2015. The governor, who stated these during a media chat at the Government House, Port Harcourt on Monday, stressed that it was disturbing that while governors and other stakeholders are working assiduously to strategically position the PDP to takeover the realm of power in 2023, the likes of Aliyu are working as All Progressives Congress (APC) moles in PDP. “Aliyu Babangida is a mole in PDP. These are people who get information and in the night they go to the ruling party (APC) and give them the information.” Governor Wike declared that contrary to insinuation by Babangida, there does not exist any frosty relationship between him and the PDP national chairman, Uche Secondus. According to him, in politics, people are bound to disagree on certain issues, but that cannot be misconstrued as a rift in their relationship. “The same Aliyu in 2017 was one of those who opposed Secondus to be chairman of the party. He only came on board at the dying minute when he knew Secondus was coasting to victory.” The governor also clarify that he was not aware if the PDP national chairman has disagreement with stakeholders of the party in Rivers State. He stressed that if there existed any form of conflict between Secondus and others stakeholders in the State, the national chairman would have made it known to all concern. Governor Wike explained that the reason why Babanigda has recently embarked on a campaign of calumny against him is because he has refused to invite him to commission Project in Rivers State.

RIVERS STATE GOVERNMENT DECLARES CARVETON HELICOPTER PERSONA NON GRATA •directs Local Government Council Chairmen to close all Carveton Helicopters Offices in the state For endangering the lives of Rivers people by its suspicious operations, the Rivers State Government has declared Carveton Helicopters, Persona Non Grata in the state. In a State Broadcast on Wednesday, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike directed Local Government Council Chairmen to close the Offices of Carveton Helicopters across the state. He said: "We appreciate the need to protect business interests andoperations in the State and we will do whatever that is required to ensure that no business is unduly affected by the measures we have taken to combat the Coronavirus. "However, we shall not welcome businesses or companies that value their business activities or profit more than or in clear disregard of the lives and health of our people. "By its actions Calverton Helicopters have clearly shown that Rivers lives do not matter to it. It is an enemy of Rivers people and is hereby declared persona non grata in Rivers State. "With this declaration Calverton Helicopters can only chose to operate in any part of Rivers State at its own risk as Local Government Chairmen have been directed to close their offices and prevent their operations." Governor Wike said that the highly insensitive and provocative actions of Calverton Helicopters took place in the midst of credible intelligence reports about plans by enemies of the state to traffic carriers of the dreaded Coronavirus into the State. He said: "Their morbid intention is to create panic by pushing up the infection rate and rubbish the robust measures we have since put in place to cut off the spread of the virus and keep our State and our citizens safe and secure from the ravaging pandemic. " As expected, and required by our laws, the crew and the passengers on board that ill-fated helicopter were promptly arrested by the law enforcement personnel and are being prosecuted before our courts in line with our COVID 19 Declarations and Containment Orders. "Calverton Helicopters claimed to have gotten permits from some federal agencies to fly passengers into the State , which never bordered to take the State Government into confidence in issuing such permits in violation of our laws and containment orders. "While federal agencies reserve the right to issue flight permits to airline operators to fly into Rivers State, we insist that the State Government must equally be informed and taken intoconfidence in the process. "This the only way to avoid suspicion, conflicts of interests and unnecessary bickering between the State and Federal Governments in our collective efforts to combat the spread of COVID 19 in the country." Governor Wike added: "Let me reiterate that for us, COVID 19 in Rivers State is a matter of life and death, and we will never succumb to any blackmail from any person, institution or authority in our determination to protect our citizens and our State from the spread of this deadly virus. "Since we triggered the law on Calverton Helicopters, we have seen and read all sorts of hilarious and frivolous comments, particularly on social media, questioning the propriety of our actions against the carrier and its passengers "At this time and under the present situation, nothing; Irepeat; nothing, is more important to us than to safeguard thelives and wellbeing of our citizens no matter the cost, and we shall spare no efforts to achieve this singular most fundamental objective of our Government." The Rivers State Governor said that the action of Calverton Helicopters when they conveyed passengers of doubtful Coronavirus status into the State was in flagrant violation of the State Government’s total restriction on flights into Port Harcourt. "We have sworn to protect the lives and advance the wellbeing our people, and nothing can stop us from taking all necessary steps to prevent or stop any person, action or activities that would endanger the lives of our citizens," he said. North’s gang-up against me will fail -Jonathan •Says consensus ’ll yield no positive result •Vows not to play politics with Nigeria’s security PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has said that the ongoing attempt by some northern politicians to come up with a consensus candidate to contest the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries against him is a gang-up that is certain to fail. He has also denied a newspaper report (not Nigerian Tribune) that the Goodluck/Sambo Presidential Campaign Organisation was offering money to party members in return for support of the president. According to a statement by the Director of Publicity of the organisation, Sully Abu, issued in Abuja, on Monday, the president reiterated that the ballot box was the only viable means through which Nigerians would determine who becomes the next president. The statement noted that the consensus arrangement being pursued by former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, former National Security Adviser (NSA) to the president, General Aliyu Gusau and Governor Bukola Saraki of Kwara State, would yield no positive result. The campaign organisation stated that the consensus arrangement would fail, because it was not based on any principle or programme and was not in the interest of the Nigerian people, who it said had seen such gang-ups in the past come to nothing. According to the statement, “the consensus arrangement being pursued is based on sheer opportunism and driven by an undemocratic and illiberal spirit. That is why they have continued to be at pains to explain that they are at work, irrevocably committed to the success of the arrangement. "They have continued feverishly with their individual campaigns while they continue to protest their commitment to subsume their individual, galloping ambitions. Who is deceived?” “The consensus of Nigerians is that the ballot box will determine the next president of the country. Based on their conviction as to who best represents their hope for fundamental change against the disastrous policies and politics of the men of yesterday, Nigerians, are, by overwhelming evidence, rooting for the Goodluck/Sambo ticket. "This is what is making our opponents desperate, so desperate indeed as to contemplate a gang-up of people who are otherwise very strange bedfellows,” it said. Meanwhile, the Goodluck/Sambo Campaign Organisation has denied offering cash to win the support of PDP stakeholders in the forthcoming party presidential primaries. According to the Director-General (DG) of the organisation, Dr Dalhatu Tafida, there would have been no need for the campaign organisation to embark on a nationwide tour to sell the Goodluck/Sambo ticket, if he wanted to bribe politicians with cash. Denying the report, he said the president and his deputy, Namadi Sambo, were not desperate to hang on to power. The publication had alleged that the president had sought to bribe Kano PDP stakeholders by requesting them to name their price in return for giving support to the ticket. The DG, who was speaking in Kaduna during a courtesy call on the governor, Mr Patrick Yakowa, however, noted that President Jonathan was not bothered by such reports. Dr Tafida advised detractors to exercise some caution and demonstrate fairness for the sake of the progress of the country. According to him, “let me use this opportunity to correct the impression created by a daily newspaper on Sunday that the president wants to win at all costs. “Of course the paper wrote what it wanted to write, there is no problem. We are used to that but they should also be fair to us. “Our aspirants are not like that. They are not people that use power. This is why a sitting president is going from state to state to seek for support, talking to stakeholders, begging and pleading with them. “He is not altogether determined to win at all costs. He wants to win by persuading and convincing the delegates on the need to support his aspiration,” he said. Dr Tafida pointed out that this was the first time a sitting president had gone round talking directly with those involved, unlike what it used to be. He advised the supporters of other presidential aspirants in the PDP to stick to the rules for the sake of party unity. Meanwhile, President Jonathan, on Monday, inaugurated a number of projects in Abuja, including a crime-fighting police helicopter and equipment with a commitment never to play politics with the security of the nation. The president, who spoke against the backdrop of the Independence Day bomb blasts, which killed 14 people and injured many others, also advised other Nigerians not to play politics with the all-important issue of the nation’s security. He said: “I have never played politics with it and I will never play politics with it and I urge Nigerians not to play politics with it. It is a serious crime against our nation and must be accorded the seriousness it deserves.” President Jonathan reiterated his administration’s determination to get to the bottom of the October 1 blasts, saying, “this administration is fully resolved to ensure diligence and thorough investigation of the dastardly bomb blasts of October 1 in Abuja. It is a duty we owe to our nation and our dear brothers and sisters who lost their lives on that fateful day. It is a duty which we will prosecute to a logical conclusion.” The items he inaugurated included scene of crime vehicles and a twin-engine 15-seater Advance Bell 412 EP IFR combat helicopter, installed with armoured plate protection for both pilot and passengers, and also fitted with a 16 million candle light dismountable searchlight that enables it to undertake surveillance operation. Apart from the AYA Overhead Bridge on Nyanya road, the president also inaugurated the Total Radar Coverage of Nigerian Airspace (TRACON), comprising four Primary Radar and five Secondary Radar Heads co-located in Nnamdi Azikiwe, Murtala Muhammed, Malam Aminu Kano and Port Harcourt international airports. Speaking at the inauguration of the police equipment at the Eagle Square, President Jonathan observed that how well the Nigeria Police were able to meet their constitutional obligation was, to a large extent, the function of how well they were supported with equipment and vital logistic. He said this was why the transformation and repositioning of the force to attain the highest level of professional excellence had been a cardinal point of his administration. President Jonathan noted that the recent changes in the police were also to ensure that “we meet our new challenges,” adding, “we are presently confronted with new species of crime of kidnapping and car bombs.” He said, “surely, this requires new and sophisticated technique to combat it,” as he added that “the procurement of the helicopter and the scene of crime vehicles, which we are commissioning today, is part of the holistic programmes aimed at enhancing capacity efficiency and functional effectiveness in the NPF. This is the beginning and they will get more.” The president observed that the huge financial implication of effective policing across the country was such that the Federal Government alone could not bear the burden, noting that the Police Reform Programme was estimated to cost about N1.5 trillion spread over six-year period. According to him, “it is in recognition of this fact that the Federal Government accepted a proposal for funding the programme by the three tiers of government, including the private sectors and our development partners. “The Federal Government, on its part, has already demonstrated commitment to the programme by making a budgetary provision of N71 billion in the current fiscal year. “I must commend those state governments that, even before the unfolding of these arrangements, have consistently provided valuable support to the Nigeria Police. It is my hope that others will emulate their patriotic examples.” He was confident that the organised private sector would take up the challenge of partnering with the Federal Government to ensure peace and security in the country. President Jonathan commended the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for its preparedness to provide four armoured helicopters for the police, saying that “at this time, more than ever, the leadership and all the officers and men of the Nigeria Police have an obligation to demonstrate the highest level of dedication, integrity, diligence and commitment to professional excellence in the discharge of their duties.” Earlier at the inauguration of TRACON at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja, President Jonathan had said it was another stride of the current administration to overhaul the aviation system and raise it to international standard. “This is another deliberate stride by this administration to provide safe and secure airspace across the country. The sector is currently undergoing transformation from its past state of disrepair to conform to international standard,” he said. Describing the development as a good milestone and an Independence gift for Nigeria, the president said the successful installation of TRACON followed the conferment of Category One status on the aviation sector. In her address, the Minister of Aviation, Mrs Fidelia Njezeh, said the realisation of the project was not an easy one. |

Since then i have been the only one calling her, sending her recharge card often and she has not for ones called me. She only flashes me most time and i call her back, she will tell me to send her recharge card after sending it to her, she will not even call back to say thank you. The most annoying thing is that i bought her Jamb form she wrote it and passed, and she gained admission into school, every month i normally pay into her account 10000 from my salary, just to help her in school becuz she is from a poor family. Now that they are on strike i have also asked her to go for computer training whereby i have also paid the fees for 5 months. The most painful one is that last month was her birthday i hosted it for her i spent barely N57000 for that alone paying for the venue and feeding including her gift, she never thanked me after all the event. The day i had my own birthday that was 2 months later, she never called nor came to see me and freinds just even to text me which side.
