Odianosen Okojie: I met Mercy for the first time in 2008 on a flight from France. We both flew Business Class and I asked for her number but she refused. She was very down-to-earth even as a celebrity. I know how a lot of them behave but she is different. Being very focused and a go-getter, I did everything I could just to have her including her number after I set my eyes on her.


Was he comfortable with your movie roles?
Mercy Johnson:

He wasn’t comfortable with the romantic scenes. I stopped taking up such roles in 2009 when I realised we were getting serious and headed for marriage. I was so in love with him that I started adjusting my lifestyle and personality to suit him. He is enlightened and well-travelled. He understands the demands of my job and has no problems with my career. He simply gives me space to fly.


Do you watch her movies?
Odianosen Okojie: No. That is because I don’t really have time to watch Nollywood movies. I would rather watch the news and a little bit of soccer whenever my busy schedule permits me.

On the 29th of may , this year , nigeria’s Leading newspaper popularly knowns as vanguard news reported that , The amnesty programme in the Niger Delta is due to end in December, but the Government intends to invest heavily in the projects, and programmes currently in place. I call on the leadership and people in these areas to cooperate with the State and Federal Government in the rehabilitation programmes which will be streamlined and made more effective.
However , this cause a lot of debate on the popular forum site popularly knowns Nairaland ,In which some people regards it as a good move , while others disagree with it.

Reporting reaching us this afternoon through NAN says , Mr Ramsey Oyakemeagbegha, an ex-militant leader, has pleaded with the Federal Government to sustain the Amnesty Programme beyond 2015.

He made the plea in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yenagoa on Sunday.

Oyakemeagbegha, who benefited from the third phase of the amnesty programme, stressed the need for the extension to enable government to address those challenges and neglects that necessitated the amnesty.

He said that ending the programme in 2015 would not augur well for the ex-militants that embraced the amnesty programe in the third phase in 2013.

“We in the third phase amnesty are also of the view that the programme should continue and not stop in 2015 as scheduled; so, I urged the Federal Government to review the schedule.

“The third phase came in not too long ago; even for those who started in the first phase there is not much on ground to engage them meaningfully.

“The communities are still largely underdeveloped and most of the things that triggered militancy are not attended to as expected,’’ he said.

Oyakemeagbegha further added that the people had yet to access potable water, good education and functional health facilities.

According to him, pollution occasioned by the oil industry still continues in addition to unemployed in the land.

“In the light of the above, making 2015 the end of the Presidential Amnesty Programme spells more trouble for our region and the nation.
Oyakemeagbegha expressed concern on the rising incidents of pirate attacks on passenger boats and kidnappings in the creeks.
He reiterated the resolve of Niger Delta Youths to support the new administration more so that President Muhammadu Buhari had pledged to develop the region.(NAN)

It does not depend whether the person giving out is rich or poor... Its a decision. You make up your mind to give and necessarily; you should be willing to lend a helping hand to the needy. A giver shouldn't harbour any grudges whatsover when he/she gives a fortune but rather should give out with a free mind.
