Mine happened jus last Wednesday in my office of 6 staff. I had tea and bread wt fried eggs as breakfast, the tea was beverage wt dried powdered Moringa. Sometimes in the afternoon I left like farting which I did silently, owing to eggs and d milk I had. The second n third times were successfully silenced. Since d farts have been silenced n odourless I decided to apply more pressure to release d subsequent ones. All of a sudden I felt d urge to go toilet but I was like its d mess na. On applying pressure to forcefully release it.......my boxers was to d rescue (Twas d watery stool). All my colleagues exchanged glances n off I went to toilet to clear d mess. Couldn't help but to flush d boxers too. One getting back to my workstation, I was greeted by d soothing relieve of air freshener. |
After spending significant number of years (and still counting) in the garden city, I have noticed and observed some distinct features that characterized d town. I could be exaggerating but definitely not far from the truth. Only in PH........ 1. You will see some of the most expensive cars are being driven by women. 2. All white men are expatriate just because they lack melanin. 3. Even Abuja cannot boasts of the sirens and Hilux vehicles in PH 4. Has highest numbers of inhuman treatment with the use sirens and disobeying of traffic rules. 5. Where rain fall unannounced even without dark clouds. 6. Where two vehicles cannot pass each with ease in some streets at d "Rumus". 7. Where shops are more expensive than houses and are even more in number. 8. Is where you have the best of architects. You can only imagine how they calve out rooms from little space when given the chance. 9. Where you don't have to go far to get whatever commodity you need. Just look around because most of the houses have shops at the front. 10. Hold up could be gridlocked. I once watched a premier league match (thanks to my DSTv Walka) in hold up just from GRA junction to Stadium road. 11. Where pipe borne water never run yet there is State Water Corporation. Remember its Rivers state. 12. Where fish and other sea foods are more expensive than uplands. 13. Where gals show their desperation. Imagine picking a gal up after being flagged down while its raining. As am a guy man na, we got familiar with each other talking on life issues. Getting to where she was to alight, I bid her good bye but she was reluctant to leave my car. Finally, she asked, "Are you not supposed to ask of my phone number or pin?" I cannot exhaust all but I stand to be bashed, corrected and hailed. |
I thot he is supposed to be in Maiduguri control center not in Abuja jogging |
Am in PH, my problem with the drivers here is the abuse of road ie blowing one-way, blaring of siren, amber lights and full headlight (in broad day light even at night when dim is supposed to be used) unnecessarily. Causing discomfort and nuisance to ordinary motorists. Only if a law can be enacted against this, i dont think these can be stopped in PH. |

Meaning Zakat ul-Fitr is often referred to as Sadaqat ul-Fitr. The word Fitr means the same as Iftar, breaking a fast and it comes from the same root word as Futur which means breakfast. Thus, Islamically, Zakat ul-Fitr is the name given to charity which is distributed at the end of the fast of Ramadhan. Classification Sadaqat ul-Fitr is a duty which is Wajib on every Muslim, whether male or female, minor or adult as long as he / she has the means to do so. The proof that this form of charity is compulsory can be found in the Sunnah whereby Ibn 'Umar reported that the Prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam made Zakat ul-Fitr compulsory on every slave, freeman, male, female, young and old among the Muslims; one Sa' of dried dates or one Sa' of barely.1 The head of the household may pay the required amount for the other members. Abu Sa'id al-Khudri said, "On behalf of our young and old, free men and slaves, we used to take out during Allah's Messenger's sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam lifetime one Sa' of grain, cheese or raisins."2 Significance The significant role played by Zakat in the circulation of wealth within the Islamic society is also played by the Sadaqat ul-Fitr. However, in the case of Sadaqat ul-Fitr, each individual is required to calculate how much charity is due from himself and his dependents and go into the community in order to find those who deserve such charity. Thus, Sadaqat ul-Fitr plays a very important role in the development of the bonds of community. The rich are obliged to come in direct contact with the poor, and the poor are put in contact with the extremely poor. This contact between the various levels of society helps to build real bonds of brotherhood and love within the Islamic community and trains those who have, to be generous to those who do not have. Purpose The main purpose of Zakat ul-Fitr is to provide those who fasted with the means of making up for their errors during the month of fasting. Zakat ul-Fitr also provides the poor with a means with which they can celebrate the festival of breaking the fast ('Eid ul-Fitr) along with the rest of the Muslims. Ibn Abbas reported, "The Prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam made Zakat ul-Fitr compulsory so that those who fasted may be purified of their idle deeds and shameful talk (committed during Ramadhan) and so that the poor may be fed. Whoever gives it before Salah will have it accepted as Zakat, while he who gives it after the Salah has given Sadaqat."3 Hence, the goal of Sadaqat ul-Fitr is the spiritual development of the Believers. By making them give up some of their wealth, the believers are taught the higher moral characteristics of generosity, compassion (sympathy for the unfortunate), gratitude to God and the righteousness. But, since Islam does not neglect man's material need, part of the goal of Zakat ul-Fitr is the economic well-being of the poorer members of society. Conditions Zakat ul-Fitr is only Wajib for a particular period of time. If one misses the time period without a good reason, he has sinned and can not make it up. This form of charity becomes obligatory from sunset on the last day of fasting and remains obligatory until the beginning of Salat ul-'Eid (i.e. shortly after sunrise on the following day). However, it can be paid prior to the above mentioned period, as many of the Sahabah (companions of the Prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam) used to pay Sadaqat ul-Fitr a couple days before the 'Eid. Ibn 'Umar reported that the Prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam order that it (Zakat ul-Fitr) be given before people go to make the Salah (of 'Eid). Nafi' transmitted that Ibn 'Umar used to pay fitr a day or two before the 'Eid prayer.4 Whoever pays fitr after the 'Eid prayer wlll not get the blessings of it because it will be rendered as regular Sadaqah (see Abu Dawud no. 1605). And Ibn 'Abbas reported that the Prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam said, "Whoever gives it before the Salah will have it accepted as Zakat, while he who gives it after the Salah (will not, for it will only be considered as) ordinary charity. Therefore, one who forgets to pay this Zakat ul-Fitr on time should do so as soon as possible even though it will not be counted as Zakat ul-Fitr." Rate The amount of Zakat is the same for everyone regardless of their different income brackets. The minimum amount is one Sa' (two handfuls) of food, grain or dried fruit for each member of the family. This calculation is based on Ibn 'Umar's report that the Prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam made Zakat ul-Fitr compulsory and payable by a Sa' of dried dates or a Sa' of barley. The Sahabi, Abu Sa'id al-Khudri said, "In the Prophet's time, we used to give it (Zakat ul-Fitr) as a Sa' of food, dried dates, barley, raisins or dried cheese."5 Items other than food such as money, clothes, furniture, etc. cannot be given as Zakat ul-Fitr because it is contrary to what the Prophet commanded and what Allah wants. The Prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam said, "Whoever introduces anything in this matter (din) of ours will have it rejected." 7 Paying Zakat ul-Fitr is an act of worship, and through the Qur'an and authentic Sunnah all acts of worship are described. Therefore, to add, subtract, or alter any act of worship is a bid'ah. Thus, paying Zakat ul-Fitr by other than food is a bid'ah and every bid'ah eventually leads to the fire (see Abu Dawud no. 4590). Not giving money for fitr is as Sunnah at-Turkiyyah (an action, the abandonment of which is a Prophetic Sunnah). Money existed and was prevalent in the Prophet's time but he did not nor did the Companions or Tabi'in (followers of the Companions) use any money for Fitr. For sure the Prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam was, is, and always will be the best of worshippers and the Companions and Tabi'in are the best of generations in understanding and practicing Islam.8 So if he and they did not use money for Sadaqat ul-Fitr why should any one else? Eid -ul -Fitr is a unique festival. It has no connection with any historical event nor is it related to the changes of seasons or cycles of agriculture. It is not a festival related in any way to worldly affairs. Its significance is purely spiritual. It is the day when the Muslims thank Allah for having given them the will, the strength and the endurance to observe fast and obey His commandment during the holy month of Ramadhan. This day, in Muslim world, brings rejoicing and happiness. The rejoicing is not, however, at the departure of the month of Ramadhan; it is the happiness which man feels after successfully completing an important task. So far as the passing away of the month of Ramadhan is concerned, Muslim religious leaders of the early days of Islam always felt profound sorrow when it came to an end, as they felt that they were being deprived of the spiritual blessings which were associated with the month of fasting. To show the original Islamic feeling at the end of Ramadhan, I am quoting some of the sentences from an invocation by Imam Zainul-Abedeen. He says:- "O Lord, Thou hast ordained Ramadhan to be one of the most chosen .. .. ; and Thou hast distinguished it from all other months, and chosen it out of all other seasons and periods; and given it preference to all the times of the year, by having sent the Qur'an and the light of guidance in it, and by having increased the faith, and by having enjoined the observance of fast in it, and by encouraging us to stand up for prayer at night, and by placing in it the glorious 'Night of Qadr' which is better than a thousand months. "Therefore, in accordance with Thy command, we kept fast in its days, and with Thy help, we stood up for prayers in its nights; presenting ourselves, by means of its fasts and prayers, for Thy Mercy which Thou dist offer to us. "And, verily, this month of Ramadhan stayed amongst us a welcome stay; and gave us a righteous company; bestowing upon us the most excellent benefits in the universe. Now, it departs from us at the completion of its time. "Therefore, we bid it farewell as we did good-bye to one whose departure is hard upon us and makes us sad; and whose parting away makes us feel lonely." Then he turns towards the month of Ramadhan, speaking in an endearing tone:- "How much did we long for thee yesterday; and how intense will be our eagerness for thee tomorrow. Peace be on thee and thy excellence of which we have been deprived, and thy blessings which will no longer be with us." These few words are the mirror which show the true Islamic feeling towards the month of Ramadhan and its blessings and spiritual benefits. Eid-ul -Fitr is related to such a month of blessings, because it is on this day that the strict restrictions of the preceding month are lifted. Unfortunately, in some places, this resumption of the normal activities is misinterpreted as a licence to indulge in activities prohibited in Islam, like gambling, etc. Fortunately, such trends are not common yet; but such people should be made to understand the significance of Eid -ul-Fitr. Religious observances of the Eid-ul-Fitr are designed to offer thanks to Allah that He helped us in accomplishing the aim of Ramadhan. Surely, it would be an affront to Allah if anybody, after thanking Him for completing that spiritual training, goes right away sinning against Him! Had such person known the meaning and purpose of Eid-ul -Fitr, he could not have indulged in such un-Islamic activities. Eid-ul-Fitr can be interpreted as a three-fold blessing: First it provides one more occasion for the Muslims to thank God and remember His blessings. Secondly, it affords an opportunity of spiritual stock-taking, after the month of Ramadhan. A Muslim can now ponder over the strength (or weakness) of his will power; he can see, in the mirror of Ramadhan, what were the strong (or weak) points of his character, because under the stress of fasting, the hidden qualities (or evils) of human character come to surface in such clear way which is, perhaps, not possible otherwise. Thus a man gets a chance of self-diagnosis of the traits of his character, which probably no one else may ever detect. Thirdly, it enjoins the well-to -do persons to share a portion of what they have with their poor brethren. On the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, a Muslim is obliged to give to the needy food-stuff at the rate of a prescribed weight, on behalf of himself and of every member of his family, including servants and guests who were sheltered under his roof on that night. It would certainly be pleasing to God if we did not forget these lessons after Eid-ul-Fitr. Incidentally, here the difference between religious and materialistic outlooks becomes sharper. Religion exhorts a man to give, by his own free will, a share of his wealth to those who are less fortunate, and to give it for obtaining the blessings of God. Materialism teaches him to snatch from others whatever they have got without any regard to the moral or ethical questions involved. Thus, the religion tries to strengthen the highest qualities of the human character; materialism strives to make him the slave of the lowest animal instincts degrading him to the level of the beasts. On this day, special prayers are held the world over, between sunrise and noon, when the Muslims assemble, in large congregations, wearing their best dresses standing shoulder to shoulder, demonstrating for everyone the universal brotherhood which is another distinguishing feature of Islam --- the religion of God. In East Africa, special Eid barazas. are held in which the Muslims, as well as the non-Muslims, participate whole-heartedly. Thus, it provides the country-men with a chance to strengthen the ties of brotherly love and a national unity. Let us re-dedicate our life to the cause of humanity, which is the best way to demonstrate our love of God. Let us resolve that our energies, in the coming year, will be directed towards strengthening a society based on mutual respect, brotherly love, and universal understanding. Let us decide that, in the coming year, we will build a social order which would bring not only the material benefits, but also the spiritual satisfaction. And, in the end, let us pray to God in these words: "O Lord, make us clean from our errors by the close of the month of Ramadhan, and take us out of our sins when our fast comes to end. And bless us on this Eid day, the day of our festival and our break-fast; and let it be the best day, which passed over us, and forgive us our sins known and unknown." Ameen |
When a man is falling in love with a woman, there are many small or less obvious things about her and her personality that will bring a smile not only to his face, but also to his heart. What are some things the man in your life probably loves about you, but may not have told you? 1. He loves the way he smiles when he thinks about you. It doesn't matter if he's stressed out at work, stuck in traffic, or just bored scrolling through Facebook. If a man is lucky, he will have a woman come into his life who can make him smile without even being in the same zip code. Just the thought of her or hearing her name will light him up like fireworks on the 4th of July. What's not to love about that? 2. He loves when he makes you smile. Have you ever noticed a guy who seemed to pick up momentum when he's being funny? Even sorta-semi-funny, but not really, but damn he was trying? A man loves to see the woman in his life smiling, laughing, and having a good time. And even more, he loves to be the source of that smile, even if it means making dumb jokes for her to laugh at. 3. He loves being physically close to you. Whether the two of you are cuddled up on the couch or standing next to each other waiting for your cab, a man loves being close to the woman in his life. It's a great way to feel connected with someone -- physically and emotionally. It's hard to beat the feeling of the woman you care about laying on your chest or resting her head on your shoulder. Don't ask me why, it's just science. 4. He loves when you play with his hair while he's driving. I wish I could give you a reason for this, but all I can say is that it's the best thing ever. 5. He loves the way you smile after he kisses you. You know that euphoric rush that comes over you when you kiss the right person? That feeling of endorphins and emotions that seems to take you over? That spark you feel when you kiss him or her? Sometimes, there's no other reaction to that feeling than to just ... smile. 6. He loves when he catches you looking at him. Men, like anyone else, crave the feeling of being wanted. Many times, we're the pursuers in a relationship and we feel as though we're consistently trying to prove ourselves in order to get attention, a first date, a second date. You get the idea. When we're with a woman who we feel really wants to be with us -- who gives us the same affection and effort we give her, who we feel might just fall in love with us -- there's no better feeling in the world. 7. He loves when you do that funny little thing you probably don't even know you do. Maybe you crinkle your nose when you laugh, or maybe you hit him on the shoulder when you're (a little) mad. Maybe you play with your hair when you get a little nervous. Whatever it is, you may just do it naturally, but he notices. He notices because that's one of the many little things separating you from any other woman he's ever met. And he loves it. 8. He loves how natural things feel with you. I was going to call this point "he loves how he doesn't have to try" to convey the idea that things should come easily, but obviously, every man (and woman) has to put in consistent effort and try to make a relationship work. But two people can just be completely comfortable together and their relationship will feel natural. They'll be content, but not in a complacent or bored way. They'll be content in a deep sigh, and look into each other's eyes and think, "So, this is how it's supposed to be ..." 9. He loves going to you for advice. When you really respect someone for who they are and the things they think, you value their opinion in ways that trump the thoughts of others. You want to get their advice. You want to hear what they think about your latest conundrum. You want to get their input and perspective. If the man in your life not only asks for your opinion, but really takes it to heart and factors it into his decisions, take it as a great sign. 10. He loves when you get physical with him. No, I don't just mean sexually (though no guy will complain about the woman in his life initiating sex); I'm referring to the little things -- the random hugs, the random kisses on his cheek, the random hand on his knee while you're sitting next to him, or the arm around him while you're walking. These are things that, dare I say, are more intimate than sex. Any two people who are attracted to each other can have sex, but the smaller physical gestures are things you only do with someone you really care about. They're things that literally connect the two of you together. They're things that combine your energy and make "you and me" into "us." 11. He loves looking into your eyes. Looking into another person's eyes can be a little awkward. You're not really sure where to look, which eye to look at, or maybe you should just look at the bridge of their nose. But not with you. The awkwardness dissipates and is replaced by excitement. It's replaced by hope. It's replaced by love -- a love that can only grow between two people who open the windows to their souls and allow one to reach through embrace the other. A calm serenity that makes you want to hold your gaze, not turn away. When a woman is right for a man -- and I mean, when she is really right for him -- there will never be a list long enough to explain all the things he loves about her. There will never be a word strong enough to describe how he feels. There will never be a way for him to communicate how deeply he cares for her. All he will be able to do when she asks him, "What's that look for?" is smile, shake his head, and say, "Oh, nothing ..." Because sometimes, that's all he can muster. But believe me, it's just his way of telling you that no words will ever suffice -- only love will. |

I trip of an hour will eventual be a record time that is yet unknown from Yenagoa to Port Harcourt. The inability of the past govt to make sure the road was done before they were ousted out is pathetic considering the hardship masses are facing on the road. I can't imagine how the road will be like on Mbiama market day which is always on Tuesdays. Unexpectedly, an aboki man is now expected to finish the road in the ex-president's constituency. Let me ear any tan-oids blame d aboki if he decides to abandon the road. Thou I know he won't. God bless Nigeria. |
