Choose the most comfortable place for worship in your home or Masjid. Avoid leaning on pillows & cushions while reciting Qur’an or Adhkaar so as to keep your back straight. 4. Switch off your mobile phones, iPads and Laptops if possible. 5. If you’re alone, recite the Qur’an in a loud beautiful voice so that your ears & heart remain involved with the recitation and you don’t feel drowsy. Plus it has an amazingly calming effect trust me! If you’re not alone then you can recite in a normal volume not to disturb others but can listen to a Qiraa-at in high volume using your earphone. 6. Elongate your Sujood and make loads and loads of Du’aas in it. Cry hard and ask ALLAH everything you wish for in Dunya and Aakhirah. 7. Raise your Du’aa – Remember it’s the night of decree and angels are precisely writing down whatever is gonna happen in your life for the next coming year, be specific in your Du’aas and ask for each and everything you need – Hajj, Job, Career, Spouse, Children, Home, whatever. Repent sincerely with full hope and firm resolve of not repeating those sins again. 9. Memorize and keep asking the Du’aa of Lailatul Qadr: Allaahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibb al-‘afwa fa’affu ‘anni (O Allaah, You are forgiving and You love forgiveness, so forgive me). 10. Many fun-seeking men go for drinking women, not knowing that the fact that a woman’s drinking choice does not determine how active, fun, or creative she can be in bed or a relationship. People drink and some people do not – s e fini! Unfortunately, this is not enough for some people who feel everyone must conform to certain codes. If a woman doesn’t drink or if she does, those choices must be respected. Many fun-seeking men go for drinking women, not knowing that the fact that a woman’s drinking choice does not determine how active, fun, or creative she can be in bed or a relationship. Anyway, here are 11 things men should know about such women: 1. That she does not drink does not mean she does not know how to get down and have fun. Some people are energetic enough to have fun without liquor. 2. Women who do not drink can also feel comfortable around drinkers. This means that you do not have to exclude her out of events because there will be drinking there. Just ask her. 3. They always like it when you offer non-alcoholic options like juice and other beverages even when everyone else is having something stronger. Your fridge should indicate that you think about her. 4. They like you to keep the drinking urge down when you are together. Yes, she agrees that you drink but she still wants you sane, not stoned. It is just respect. 5. They may not offer sex if you get yourself all inebriated and stupid. Sex may be fun when alcohol is in the mix, but where only one person is drunk, it’s not so fun 6. They can be wild in sex without getting prepped with se. Believe it or not, some women can get passionate, and wild in the bedroom. In fact, when she is not drunk, she is more likely to fully consent and contribute to your tango. 7. They appreciate it a lot if you forgo drinking just for them. When you shun the beer to stay sober for them, it means a lot and it will be rewarded. 8. They appreciate it if you do not talk about the fact that they do not drink all the time. It is not so pleasant if you keep reminding them or trying to make them join you in bottle emptying. Leave her be bro! 9. They appreciate it if you can be as affectionate when you are drunk as when you are sober. So do not leave the sweet words to drunken moments which may not be genuine. Tell her you love her when you are sober—not just when you are drunk! 0. They like being funny and playful, but certainly not when you call at odd hours, drunk and silly, saying things you may regret the next day. 1. That she does not drink does not mean she CANNOT drink. So do not be shocked when you actually hear “I want a beer” from her. There you go people. Now you know that that quite no-drinking banker or lawyer you keep out of your events might actually be friskier in bed than your average woman. A surprise awaits you… http://pulse.ng/hotpulse/sex-and-love-11-things-men-should-know-about-women-who-don-t-drink-alcohol-id3908354.html?utm_campaign=daily-2015-06-26&utm_medium=email&utm_source=newsletter |

Common Errors in Prayer That MUST Be Avoided:- 1. Reciting Surat al-Fatiha without pausing after each verse. The Prophet (SAW) used to pause after each verse of this surah. (Abu Dawood) 2. Sticking the arms to the sides of the body, in rukoo' or sujood, and sticking the belly to the thighs in sujood. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Let not one of you support himself on his forearms (in sujood ) like the dog. Let him rest on his palms and keep his elbows away from his body." ( Sahih Muslim) The Messenger of Allah (SAW) used to keep his arms away from his body during rukoo' and sujood that the whiteness of his armpits could be seen ( Sahih Muslim). 3. Gazing upward during prayer. This may cause loss of concentration. We are commanded to lower our gaze, and look at the point at which the head rests during sujood. The Prophet (SAW) warned: "Let those who raise their gaze up during prayer stop doing so, or else their sights would not return to them. [ i.e. Lose their eyesight]. " ( Muslim) 4. Resting only the tip of the head on the floor during sujood. The Prophet (SAW) said: "I am commanded to prostrate on seven bones the forehead and the nose, the two hands [palms],the two knees, and the two feet." ( Sahih Muslim) Applying the above command necessitates resting the forehead and the nose on the ground during sujood. 5. Hasty performance of prayer which does not allow repose and calmness in rukoo' or sujood. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) saw a man who did not complete his rukoo' [bowing], and made a very short sujood [prostration] ; he (SAW) said: "If this man dies while praying in this manner, he would die upholding a religion other than the religion of Muhammad." Abu Hurairah (RA) said: "My beloved friend, Muhammad (SAW) forbade me to perform postures of prayer copying the picking of a rooster; (signifying fast performance of prayer), moving eyes around like a fox and the sitting like monkeys ( i.e. to sit on thighs)." (Imam Ahmad & at-Tayalisi) The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said:? "The worst thief is the one who steals from his own prayer."? People asked, 'Messenger of Allah! How could onemessengerm his own prayer?' He (SAW) said: "By not completing its rukoo' and sujood."(At- Tabarani & al-Hakim). To complete rukoo' is to stay in that posture long enough to recite 'subhana rabbiyal Adtheem' three times, SLOWLY, and' subhana rabbiyal-a'ala' three times, SLOWLY, in sujood. He (SAW) also announced: "He who does not complete his rukoo' and sujood, his prayer is void." (Abu Dawood & others) 6. Counting tasbeeh with the left hand The Prophet (SAW) used to count tasbeeh on the fingers of his right hand after salah. lbn Qudamah (RA) said:? "The Messenger of Allah (SAW) used his right hand for tasbeeh." ( Abu Dawud) The above hadeeth indicates clearly that the Prophet (SAW) used only one hand for counting tasbeeh.?No Muslim with sound mind would imagine that the Prophet (SAW)?used his left hand for counting tasbeeh. Aa'ishah (RA) said that the Prophet (SAW)used his left hand only for Istinjaa', or cleaning himself after responding to the call of nature.? He never used it for tasbeeh. Yasirah (RA) reported:?The Prophet(SAW) commanded women to count tasbeeh on their fingers. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said:?"They (the fingers) will be made to speak, and will be questioned (on the Day of Resurrection. )" (At-Tirmithi) The above hadeeth indicates that it is preferable to count tasbeeh on the fingers of the right hand than to do so on masbahah (rosary) . 7. Crossing in front of a praying person. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) warned:? "Were the one who crosses in front of a praying person to know the consequences of doing so, he would have waited for *forty better than to cross in front of him." (Sahih Bukhari and Muslim). *The forty in the tradition may be days months or even years. Source:www.aulia-e-hind.com/islam.html |

For the next 29 days, faithful Muslims will abstain from food and other matters considered unholy. They have to deny themselves the pleasure of the daily three square meals and the joy of snacking. The Ramadan season also comes with the annual debate about the effects of fasting on one’s health. But doctors and nutritionists say that if Muslims do all they are supposed to, the month is one that is both physically and spiritually beneficial to them. They must realise, though, that there is the natural tendency to indulge in binge-eating after breaking a fast at 7pm or when the sun sets as if to catch up on the lost “opportunity” and to make up for all the goodies they had denied themselves while the fast lasts. However, experts say the best way to break a fast is not to load one’s plate with the usual quantity of food, but return to normal eating gradually, eating foods that digest easily before the usual solid stuffs. A nutritionist, Dr. Soje Sholebo, warns that one should never overindulge in food when breaking fast in the evening if one does not want to suffer gastrointestinal problems, such as constipation and stomach ulcer. Sholebo says having abstained from food and water for long hours, the digestive and the body’s metabolic systems are on a break for a while. As such, he advises people who fast to ease the body’s functions and digestive system back to its usual pace gradually. He advises that such people should avoid heavy meals when breaking in the evening, recommending a diet rich in fruit and vegetables. For many who had looked forward to fried or jollof rice and meat for dinner, Sholebo says the worst thing to do is to eat fried or processed foods when breaking in the evening. He notes that since fasting is also a means of detoxifying the body, eating fried foods, which contain toxic substances, could lead to an inflammation of the body cells. He says, “Start with fruit and vegetables. Vegetable soups have enough fibre to give strength and restore lost nutrients for the first week. For subsequent week, add cooked yam and brown or white rice. “Stay away from fried foods because they are a real slippery slope to ‘retoxifying’ yourself. Add proteins in the third week; eat small meals. Drink water with slices of cucumber or citrus to help hydrate more efficiently. Your body is still detoxifying, so keep foods simple and healthy for long-term result.” Also, experts, on quickfasting.com, warn that eating the wrong meal after a fast could lead to ulcers, constipation and, in severe cases, a heart attack. The nutritionists advise those who are fasting to avoid eating in fast-food joints and restaurants. They state that home-cooked meals, which usually contain more natural ingredients and are less likely to have preservatives and chemicals, are the best option for individuals that have been fasting. “When you are fasting, the digestive system shuts down partially or completely. The stomach and the intestines have been cleaned out. A thorough fast cleans out everything. Therefore, you must allow time for the digestive system to prepare itself for food again. In doing so, eat foods that are slightly cooked, and you can only be sure of that if it is home cooked,” the note. The experts add, “If you eat solid food or processed food after a long fast, the first thing that will occur is constipation. Your digestive system will not move that solid food until it starts functioning again. This is because, all along, it has been busy cleaning, not digesting.” A consultant in internal medicine at Al Rawdah German Medical Centre in Abu Dhabi, UAE, Dr. Richard Stangier, says the risk of dehydration and dizziness during fasting makes fluid intake vital after breaking the fast. Stangier says, “When fasting, glucose levels will generally drop down and with it energy levels. Fasting can also affect the metabolic rate, leading to biochemical reactions while the body burns its own fat, which produces toxic end products. Staying hydrated with water, not sugary juices, is the only way to battle that. “Many people find it hard to wake up, but eating just one large meal a day is very bad for one’s lipid profile – the amount of fat in the blood,” she said. “Having some cereal, or fruit, yogurt or food with a low glycaemic index, which slowly releases energy and keeps hunger pangs, at bay for longer is imperative.” The nutritionist says fasting can lead to loss of moisture, resulting in wrinkles. He recommends, at least, a sip of water every hour to make up for the low water intake. “Your skin contains plenty of water, and it functions as a protective barrier to prevent excess fluid loss. But you lose a lot of water during a long fast and dehydration makes your skin look more dry and wrinkled. A sip of water every hour will do the trick; or you can have watermelon. This is a great fruit to start with because it has higher water content than other fruits,” Sholebo adds. Other habits those who are fasting should avoid are smoking and heavy drinking. Physicians warn that tobacco and alcohol may shock the system after fasting, and this may lead to sudden cardiovascular challenges such as a heart attack. Copyright PUNCH. |
