perdollar:Its even an insult that an Akpu and oha eating nnamdi kanu worshipper from erosion ridden potopoto republic is loving her. |
They have something in common, that is Religion. Igbos and yorubas have nothing in common. While Igbo are Christians yorubas are mixed.infact,Igbo(s) hate Muslims like faeces whereas yorubas are liberal to the two religions. A whole tribe separate us (southsouth) while yoruba speak yoruba Ibo speak Igbo. Our cultures are very different. Infact we are complete opposite of each other. The main difference: While biafrans will act befor thinking, what some people will call "bravery".Yorubas will think before acting ,what some people will call "cowardice".

S/South not part of Biafra, N/Delta youths insist
ON July 6, 2017 7:57 AM / IN News / BY
Nwafor Polycarp …Demand removal of the zone from Biafra map By Ediri Ejoh WARRI— Niger Delta youths under the aegis of Niger Delta Youth Congress, NDYC, weekend, vowed to resist war drums by Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in the South-South geopolitical zone of the country. This was made known by national coordinator, NDYC, Comrade Israel Uwejeyan, after an emergency meeting in Warri, Delta State, He declared that youths in the South-South stand for united and indivisible Nigeria and, therefore, called on leaders of IPOB to erase the zone from its Biafra map with immediate effect. Uwejeyan also disassociated NDYC from some youth groups whom he described as non-existent , saying they have strongly aligned with the statement of the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, recently in Sokoto, where he stated that “Rivers State is not a part of Biafraland.” He said: “The Niger Delta Youth Congress, NDYC, a foremost non-violent youth organisation in the region held an emergency meeting in Warri, Delta State on Friday, June 30, 2017, following the agitation for Biafra secession by Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, which is now causing disaffection and disunity in the nation, and the inclusion of the South-South states in the map of Biafra. “The South-South people are not Biafrans. So, we therefore, demand the immediate removal of the six South-South states from the so-called map of Biafra as it is an act of gross disrespect and provocation”. “We the Youths in the Niger Delta region from the six South-south States will never be a part nor lend our active or passive support for the so called for Biafra, we vehemently disassociate ourselves from the agitation for Biafra secession by some of our Igbo neighbours, “We strongly declaring our total allegiance for a united and Indivisible Nigeria whose unity has been paid for through the blood and sacrifices of millions of Nigerians in time past and we refuse to sit down and watch a repeat of this sad history by some ill advised trouble-makers chanting for Biafra or Death. “Be aware that the Niger Delta Youths from the South-south will resist all attempts by members of this so called IPOB and MASSOB groups to extend the war drums to our region. “We strongly urge all other Governors and lawmakers in the South-south region to publicly disown the agitation for Biafra as their nonchalant attitude towards the inclusion of the South-south States in the map and struggle for Biafra will no longer be overlooked.” Meanwhile, the group also lend their voice and supported the call for restructuring in the spirit of true federalism, therefore called on youth across the country to shun all forms of sentiments and be part of the struggle for a better Nigeria. www.vanguardngr.com/2017/07/ssouth-not-part-biafra-ndelta-youths-insist/

Lagos-Ibadan Expressway:
Southern senators form caucus
Published July 6, 2017 Leke Baiyewu , Abuja Members of the Senate from the South- West, South- South and South - East on Wednesday formed an alliance aimed at presenting a unified position on the issues affecting the southern part of the county . The lawmakers , after the plenary , held a closed - door meeting where they elected an executive for the Southern Nigeria Senators ’ Caucus. The meeting had several senators across the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party caucuses in attendance . It was led by Deputy President of the Senate , Ike Ekweremadu , and the Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio . Akpabio , who was later accompanied by the members of the newly elected executive to a press briefing, said the southern senators were now ready to engage their northern counterparts on the issues affecting the two regions. He said , “Another epochal event has happened in the Senate . Today , we have the Northern Senators’ Forum and they have been having meetings and discussing issues connected with the North . But we have not had concerted views from the southern part of the country . “We have not been able to ensure total unity , so that we can sit with our brothers in the North such that when they take on issues in the North , we will also take on issues in the southern Nigeria . From there, we will have a united voice and front in order to consolidate the unity of this country and bond together more . “So , the Senate today has also decided that there is the need to birth a new caucus , which is called Southern Nigeria Senators ’ Caucus , just like we have in the North . At the end of the day , whatever we discuss as South , we will also listen to our brothers from the North and bring them to the floor of the Senate for expeditious treatment . ” Members of the executive are Senators Hope Uzodinma ( Chairman/ South - East) , Lanre Tejuoso ( Vice- Chairman), Matthew Uroghide (Secretary - General / South- East), Solomon Olamilekan ( Treasurer/ South- West ) , Ovie Omo- Agege ( Financial Secretary / South- South ), Mao Ohuabunwa (Publicity Secretary / South- East), Duro Faseyi (Auditor / South - West ) and Stella Oduah ( Welfare Officer / South- East) . The Minority Whip, Senator Abiodun Olujimi ( Ekiti- South ), however , told our correspondent on the telephone that while the northern caucus had been active , the southern caucus had been dormant in the Senate . She said the sudden revival of the caucus was caused by the public criticisms of southern lawmakers over their alleged failure to prevent the slashing of the allocation for the Lagos - Ibadan Expressway . She said, “It has always been there. Every Senate usually has northern and southern caucuses . But while the northern caucus has been functioning since we started and the members hold meetings, we have not been meeting. “Why the caucus is now so important is because of the road , for which we , from the South, have received condemnations ; that southern senators failed to defend the project ; and the fact that we cannot handle issues of that size as lawmakers from a mere geopolitical zone .” The National Assembly had cut the vote for the rehabilitation of the road from N31 bn to N10 bn in the 2017 budget , a development that generated public outcry. www.punchng.com/lagos-ibadan-expressway-southern-senators-form-caucus/ |

Biafra: We stand with one Nigeria – Southern
senators’ forum
ON July 5, 2017 10:26 PM / IN News, Politics /
BY Tony The Southern Senators Forum, Wednesday, re- emerged at the Senate after being in oblivion for some years, saying they stand with Nigeria’s unity even as there are several agitations, especially that by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, for actualisation of Biafra. Recall that the forum’s activity was last noticed 2006 and 2007 during the tenure of Ken Nnamani as President of the Senate. It had Sen. Ifeanyi Ararume as chairman. Announcing the revival of the forum after its meeting at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja, Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio, said that it was inevitable that the group re-emerged and existed. He said that as lawmakers, they must get closer to the grassroots in order to provide them with the basic needs of life. “We must ensure that we take decisions that will enable us get closer to our people as we provide a shoulder they can lean on. “We are alive to our responsibilities. It is not just to pass Bills. We will take on topical issues that will alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians like security and creation of employment. “We will make Nigeria one,” Akpabio said. According to him, there has always been the Northern Senators Forum while the Southern Senators Forum has just re-emerged in the 8 Senate. “When they take decisions from the North, we will also take decisions from the South and from there, we will have a united voice in order to consolidate on the unity of the country,” he said. Akpabio announced that Sen. Hope Uzodinma (PDP- Imo) was Chairman of the forum, with Lanre Tejuosho as Vice Chairman. Other members in the executive committee of the group are Sen. Mao Ohuabunwa (PDP-Abia), Publicity Secretary; Sen. Duro Fasheyi is the Auditor. The only female member of the committee, Sen. Stella Oduah (PDP-Anambra), is the Welfare Officer. In his remarks, Chairman of the group, Uzodinma, said that the Southern Senators’ caucus would play vital role in strengthening the unity of Nigeria “going by the recent agitation by various sectional groups across the country’’. www.vanguardngr.com/2017/07/stand-one-nigeria-southern-senators-forum/
