Wednesday Visit to Funaab!!

Obviously i know Prof Waheed [Dvc] buh was relying on a free, fair nd just admission process fr DE [though i knw jambite own is nt plain nd dats in all skul]

Saw him in d morning and waited in d sec office[ my padi] he has a meeting....I used dah to walk around nd to visit Colmas [Dah place is nt trekkable mehn] nd Funaab is neat nd beautiful i must admit....I met wif d Dean introduced mysef nd she welcomed me verywell...in her office i met a pdg parent dah wasnt offered admission [In my mind i was like GBESE! OWO JONO] she was crying nd d woman told them [d parent nd child [to write a letter dah dey will address d issue]

i told her why i came nd showed her your credentials...she kept her head on d table fr lyk 15secs nd rose it up nd said Sir, Admission fr BAM DE was tight dis yr coz of d Fmp nd funaab A'level student [I didnt even bother to ask wat Fmp mean sef] She said only 3[3] ND distinction students were picked nd it was tough because dey had to pick 3 out of numerous Distinction student using d best wif Waec result...

I was crying inside of me,thinking about how u warned me about not interested in [Poly education buh i was impatient]..The woman and her child interrupted with their letter which d Dean was reading while i was trying to Mail you....The Dean shouted at the girl [Shey Love letter lani ki o ko ni?] No address,no heading nothing,didnt dey teach u hw to write a formal letter in ur Sec school [Her mother started crying again]..D dean even said HND applicants were given 200L instead of 3 coz of few space dey have...

No taxi to take me back had to stop a staff on bike to help me...Prof waheed said almost the same thing and that Admission has been concluded and closed buh if there is need to give some [Fed might candidates] he will call me...Yesterday was a bad day it was like d day my brother died [your Uncle]...God knows best

i will help u get the Hnd form before it close, we have no choice...You should congratulate your sister she was offered admission by Oau on jamb site...

horllarh: i got a message from funaab ict telling me that my admission will be cancelled if i did not pay the acceptance nd other fees, they said my name has been on the 1st batch nd i have to pay before 28th of this month. abeg i have been checking again and again, funaab admission portal keeps telling me, sorry you are yet to be offered admission.

rkarang: I don't even know how he did his own. Cos at present, HND graduate needs a minimum of FIVE-YEAR post HND graduation before he can qualify to apply for MSC.

Now assuming that MSC is one and half years--approximately 2yrs, it means that it will take 7yrs for an HND graduate to bag MSC. Of which BSC graduate only needs one year (can be immediate for folks with NYSC discharge letter) to qualify for MSC programme. In other words, it will only take 3yrs (could be 2 for over 30 BSC grads) for BSC graduate to bag MSC.

Oh now, I think it's the PGD (Post Graduate Diploma) that gives him that advantage. With PGD it's straight forward for MSC application.

Imagine....Only God can save us frm d discrimination in poly edu...Funny enof most of our leaders nw had HND [Aregbesola,Obasanjo nd oders] In deir conference dey proposed dah to b a presido u most b a Bsc holder [imagine! wat of Hnd holders]

Take a look at d Asup nd ASUU strike...Asup started b4 nd if nt ASUU went on strike too nobdy will knw deir is sumfin called Asup...The media too were hyprocritical den..ASUU was always Top as d Headline...College of edu was on strike fr 11mnths in a country we have a minister of education nd Presido...

Educational system must b reviewed totally! During d confab all dey were arguing bout is money allocation nd we call dem Educated elderstatesmen..Shioor!!

Well if i have my way [I dnt care to bribe d VC..i still want d admission] since we cant beat dem, its better to join dem...

Unilag Foundation is expensive nd tough...nd moreover its d same thing..if he starts d foundation nxt yr he will b in 200L same as Funaab if he goes fr dah nd Funaab acc is Ok too...It depends on his choice of skul buh i will advice him go fr Funaab
...coz if he goes fr d foundation he will still buy DE jamb frm nxt yr,do foundation exam nd still nt sure whether he will meet d cutoff to get admitted to 2ooL or dey will give him Acc..Y nt start frm 100L in funaab since u've bin admitted...

As far as am concern beloved bro Poly life nd education is d best in research,practicals nd learning rigourously buh d Discrimination is Too much in Nigeria especially in d Civil service or Work industry [Whichever]

If u have money for PD go for it dan poly, nd if u in poly aiidy b crious about it nd come out wif strong upper or distinction..

Lyk rrkrang said getting MSC is nt easy after HNd [I swear u will blame ursef goin fr HND] In my school i knw a lecturer who is my Dads Friend, He finished frm yct wif Hnd Distinction nd was retained as a lecturer..For promotion he had to go fr Msc buh had to do PGD 2yrs nd some other stuffs making 3yrs b4 doin Msc [2yrs] making 5yrs [All his children are graduate] His even d one advising me nt to go fr Hnd..Since wen he has bin lecturing dey avnt given him Hod,dean which dey give [Bsc-Msc holders] his better off dis Bsc holders nd dey still go meet him fr problems [Mech.Engineering dpt]

Poly edu is Good buh nt in Nigeria..the Discrimination is too much...

adegab4real007: SUG u say? U don jonz be that, I dnt know about Funaab o, but in most schools, SUG sef dey get their own admission allocation(s). Na naija u dey o, if u are privy to all that goes on in Nigerian Institutions concerning admission, you'll weep. Some schools (usually d top federal schools like UI, Unilag, Ife, Yabatech etc) don't joke with their merit lists (even dat statement is debatable), but after d merit list, any oda list is at d mercy of d powers dat be (man knw man, runs, favour etc). If you can't beat dem, join dem or let dem be. It is not a fair process, but if you are very sure of your own ability to read and pass, UI, Unilag, Ife etc na ur sure bet coz if you exceed d stated cutoff mark you are sure to be admitted. That's my two pennies worth of advise to all.

As for me if UI bounced me back, I'll happily go back to my Yabatech for my HND, I no get tym to waste, I knw hw many years I spent for houx b4.

@baye2023 I suggest u do d same, except if u r still relatively young and want to wait anoda year to get into a uni.

Getting High Marks in Jamb or PUTMe doesnt guarantee Admission Now, It might aff done dah b4...To gain Admitted is d Koko!! whether [Legal or illegal] ko kan aye whichever [God sef no go vex if na illegal]

Being on Merit list doesnt make dem gonna b in d FirstClass grade [Even Second class upper sef]

Buh all d same ADMISSION should be a Free [No Egunje or MagoMago] nd Fair [Best student dah pass d cutoffmark shuld b given [Not by Pd or wathever u call it] nd Names shuld b listed nt d Corrupted [Check Admission status saga]……

pseudonomer: From what I heard, composite score is not the only factor. FUNAAB will prefer to admit someone with A'Level result instead of Poly or College of Education Result. School really matters... If you're from a frat dominated school, Funaab may not consider you for admission. I think your essay is a big factor this time(just an assumption). EDLS, Catchment, this is also a factor. All is well!

Funaab left the two distinctions and admitted d one with upper credit. What should those ones do?? U've tried ur best jare, God dey. Anoda lesson is u dont count ur eggs before they are hatch. I dare nt try that even if i knw i'll be admitted. Just be thaankful, God dey.
