Politics / INEC Cancels Election In Ologi, Bayelsa Community Over Violence by BayelsaVoice: 1:16pm On Nov 16, 2019
Voting has been cancelled in Ologi (Ward 03) of Ogbia Local Government Area (LGA), a senior electoral official has said, following a violent incident that included “seizing” of an electoral official.

The official, Ukuachukwu Orji, who is the INEC supervisory resident electoral commissioner for Ogbia LGA, said members of the Ologi community forcibly prevented election in the riverine area.

“As our people (electoral officers) were coming into the community after crossing the river, they seized them and the materials and burnt all the materials.”

“They chased our people away and seized some but the military rescued them.”

Mr Orji, who is originally the REC for Anambra State, spoke in Otuoke (Ward 13 of Ogbia LGA) where President Goodluck Jonathan and his family voted.

He said election in the community was then cancelled as a consequence of the violence.

He expressed satisfaction that election has been smooth in other communities that form the LGA, except in Ologi.

The governorship election in Bayelsa State is being held in all the eight local government areas of the state.

Politics / How Dirty And Peril APC Is In Bayelsa State. by BayelsaVoice: 12:57pm On Nov 16, 2019
Corp members are taking refuge at the palace of the king of Enewari, Southern Ijaw LGA, after electoral materials hijacked by APC thugs with soldiers' aid. It is saddening that the election will obviously not be peaceful with the APC involve in it. this shows the extreme length they can go to disfranchise the people from performing their constitutional right.

Politics / Breaking News: Apc Election Tool by BayelsaVoice: 12:10pm On Nov 16, 2019
The Nigerian Military has apprehended thugs who were sent by the APC to hijack the election materials. it's very obvious that the All Progressive Congress APC fervently believes in winning the election with the toxic arsenals in their possessions. This is a government that claims to build lives and orchestrate development in the state. how do we score this formidable act?

Politics / Breaking News!!! Sensitive Material Being Hijacked By The APC Stalwart by BayelsaVoice: 9:22am On Nov 16, 2019
Security Agents arrest APC stalwarts with a huge sum of money and ballot papers at Opolo area of Yenegoa. The men of the Security agency on patrol at about 4am on the 16th of November 2019 arrested an APC stalwart with over 10million naira in his vehicle and some electoral materials not meant to be in his possession. It is presumed that the money was part of the money he has used to procure electoral materials and the balance was to induce voters but the long arm of the law caught up with him. The APC stalwart [name withheld] is now currently being interrogated by the Security Agencies.
The International Community, President Muhammadu Buhari, International, and local observers are further reminded and their attention is being drawn to the plan of APC to highjack materials, induce voters, disturb the election and intimidate voters with the military. Election isn’t by gun or machinery of any kind but by ballot, therefore the security agencies and INEC inclusive must make sure that this case isn’t swept under the rug like every other case, the culprit must be tried and brought to justice to serve as a perfect example to other vote riggers in the country.
