FamilyRe: Why Do Olden Days Marriages Last Longer Than Modern Ones? by bayo6(m): 10:59pm On May 16, 2015
The reason why many marriages covenanted before 1980 lasted was partly because of awareness of cultural values, sexists and influence of strong religious approach to marriage.
Many such marriages knowingly or not have gone through proper counselling i.e where experience or stories that shook many homes to his foundations were recounted e.g of a father sleeping with her daughter, a woman or wife been caught cheating. This usually led to accepted stigma to a family and societal consequences attached. We men do many things and get away with it but once this is done by the women another story is told.Marriages covenanted at the said period went through accepted cultural and societal counselling values.
Today, marriage counselors and process of counselling lack proper tools or understanding to bring the reality of marriage to the aspirants involved. If during a counselling the man was told that his wife would sleep with his driver or house boy and or brother and the wife was told that her husband would impregnate her sister and even try to sleep with her mother. What would have been the decision of the aspiring husband and wife?.Such counselling brings reality of life on the table for those wishing to go through the treacherous but divinely establish bond.Marriage can be equated to the story of the Israelites in the book of Joshua. From the beginning of that book assurance of victory, wealth and power was given to Joshua. This is so in marriage. Many marriages celebrated on TV today starts with such promises but the rigor and dangers remain unknown. The first phase of that journey (Israelites) was with power and resounding victory. The second phase came with true but pathetic incident, that of Achan, who despite knowing the consequences of disobedience, deceit and covetousness brought death and defeat to the people during their maiden journey. As many would agree with me men and women in marriages have brought disaster as done by Achan upon the family and their innocent offsprings. Such errors in most cases leads to collapse of marriages.
From this book (Anyone interested should sturdy the book),Joshua, who was the leader and spiritual head or husband had to consult God or sought higher power for the cause and source of the disaster. Many men have abandon this position hence many problems in the family. One notable aspect of this scenario is that there were priests, pastors, imams in that society but Joshua, recognizing his duty as the head he carried out the consultation with almighty himself. As husband men have to be conversant with true spiritual guidance to lead and not give this responsibility to another. It was after this that the cause and the source of the problem or bottleneck was revealed to him and the problem was removed.
Marriages covenanted today can still be strong and last even longer that those of our parents if we men recognize and accept our role as the spiritual head of our families. In conclusion advice given to Joshua in Chapter 1 verse 8
"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." will as it says make marriages and our offsprings.

I wonder why this guy GEJ is doing this. Does he not know that an attack by any group on any place or people in Nigeria constitute attack on Nigeria?.Why did he not attack Boko Haram and damn the consequences when it first started. I say this is like a drowning man holding unto anything so that he will not go down. Too late.
Christianity EtcRe: Curious!! Breastfeeding Inside The Church, Right Or Wrong? by bayo6(m): 11:59pm On Feb 07, 2015
This i will say is like women covering or not the head in church. We see this everyday outside of the church yet we make no plavar. That woman is the same we meet outside of the Church. You sef commot eye and worship God in your heart.Such issues are not important. For all i know the person that sat beside, behind or below you may have committed ritual before coming to church.
Christianity EtcRe: Will Our Forefathers Go To Heaven or Hell? by bayo6(m): 7:13pm On Jul 04, 2013
Unfortunately most of us tend to place ourselves in the position of God to determine who is fit for heaven or hell.If one makes it to heaven and finds likes of Idi Amin, Adolf Hitler or that King of England who beheaded his wife to satisfy bible "one man one wife". What do i make of that. What we should worry more about our self and not others.Read job 11:7 in fact read as often as possible the book of Job. This i term life from A to Z.All his three friends were men with deep spiritual experience and understanding yet failed woefully by accusing God of Miss deed.
Christianity EtcRe: Is Covering The Hair In Church An Earthly Law,biblical, part Of Fashion by bayo6(m): 6:53pm On Jul 04, 2013
Covering of hair is only mentioned in the bible for expression purposes.Another aspect of it has to do with culture of the people written to. Several places in the Bible mentioned the heart where our believe in God is and where God searches. If i cover my head and intend to defraud another church member but before the act i repented.Repentance is from the heart. On the other hand i carried out the act which started from conception of idea and planning in my heart until commission but continues to abide by the church's regulation, i will be less suspect.God searches the heart and knows all things. What is done in the secret (Our heart) will be announced at the rooftop.

The Law in Nigeria is dead or not active.Question is the chap named as biological father?.Can a DNA be done?. If all is in favour of the chap he has the right to claim the kids no matter what and how the parents feel or what their culture wishes. If he really wants the kids he shpuld sample the opinion of the court for redress.

In reply to Orikinla. I can understand how passionate you are about the situation in Ogoni land. I myself feel for them. I have never been there but i hope to be there soon. What i will like you to understand is that violence at this stage has shown the whole World that there is a problem and it stems out of iniquality and curruption from nigerian government (state and federal).
Its quite wrong of O'mar to look for support first outside than from home.i'll blame this on the advisers. Hugo Chavez of Nicaragua relies on home front and therefore confident to stand against U.S.A. My question to you now Orikinla is imagine there is Ogoni state, imagine that Oil companies pay Ogoni land tax. Who will be responsible for the welfare of the people?, will Ogoni land become a Mecca of West Africca, will there surpluss of food?. As the saying goes a hungry man is an angry man.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria's Vice-president Elect Goodluck Attacked by bayo6(m): 1:55pm On May 16, 2007
I have just read the news but there is equally a good quote that the President and VP. Select must hold fast unto.
"It is not clear why the militants attacked, but analysts say they are trying to remind the incoming president Umar Yar'Adua that the crisis in the region is far from over."
I haven't been back to Nigeria in a while but i do understand that be it in socio, economy or polity, hunger is the basis of all the problems. . I wonder what our situation would be like if a policeman can caution or arrest an influential politician, soldier or fellow policeman bearing in mind he and his family will still be able to afford two good meals a day should he be sacked for doing tthe right thing.
All in all, BBC and other western media may be biased in reporting only problems or very sad story about Africa, but they report some fact ,though sometimes exagerated. I will like to see the two employ policies that will attend to mass production of food. this will eventually works its way into all problem and reduce them to normal as is seen in the west.
I'm happy that it happed and reported. Whoever was commisioned to carry out the attack must have or be experincing lack of three square meals day.

Calling you for interview or another test and or knowing HR or head office does not guarantee employement. What matters most is confidence you carry at any interview. Keep eyes out for other places. E go better.
