CelebritiesBlessing Egbe Is Set To Release Her Very Ambitious Movie, ‘the Ten Virgins’ by bbbmedia(op): 8:58pm On May 03, 2019

Ten Virgins is a musical drama about 10 maidens who amidst many temptations must remain faithful in their commitment to the greatest prince in the land. Parading only a few known faces, 95 percent of its cast are new acts such as Honey Adum, Damilare Kuku, Blessed Effiong, Bukky Okorodus, Thin Tall Tony, Leelee Byoma, Jade Dunni, Osareme Inegbenebor, Chidera Makata, Oge Aniegboka, Ola Taiwo, Degri Emmanuel, Chinonso Young, Tunbosun Aiyedehin, and the late Priye George.(RIP)

It is both a Feature and a limited series and is indeed an ambitious stride. Going into this, My intention was to tell a story so relatable, interesting and entertaining, and I believe we have achieved that aim. It is a movie driven on the strength of the story, its style and the execution of it. We paid attention to technical details and all the elements that make a movie great, and I believe the audience will feel its pulse. Nollywood is in dire need of content with substance and that substance starts from the depth of the stories we tell. For ‘The Ten Virgins, we told a familiar story in a dated' stage like and musical format, it is simple yet so captivating. I am excited and can't wait to share it with the audience come 2nd of August.

Nairaland GeneralAmos Adamu's Son Speaks: I Was Not Arrested by bbbmedia(op): 6:45pm On Mar 31, 2019
I Was Not Arrested-Mike Adamu

Businessman, Mike Adamu has denied being arrested or detained by the Nigerian Police over a purported court order.
Mr. Adamu, who is the CEO of Reform Sports West Africa Limited and son of Amos Adamu, former Director-General, National Sport Commission, made this assertion via a press statement he signed and sent to the media on Sunday.

The statement became necessary after a number of media platforms went to town with reports that Adamu had been detained based on the order of a Magistrate Court in Mpape, Abuja.

In the statement, Adamu vowed to pursue the matter to a logical legal conclusion.
‘My attention has been drawn to false online and print media reports suggesting to the public that I was arrested, arraigned and ordered to be remanded in custody by a magistrate court in Mpape Abuja till April 1st 2019 sequel to a petition by NSIL Limited pertaining an alleged fraud or scam against me.

It is sad that newspapers and news platforms that are supposed to be mediums of truth have allowed themselves to be avenues peddling falsehood. I was never arraigned nor remanded in the custody of the Police Intelligence Response Team, prison custody or any other custody whatsoever till 1st April 2019 or any other date.

The said publication is false, smirks of cheap blackmail and desperate attempt by the purveyors of this false report. I have had series of meetings with friends, associates and business partners at various times and places within this week and even till this moment.
It is unfortunate that a simple business misunderstanding with NSIL Ltd. will lead to falsehood and an attempt to tarnish my name, that of my companies and my extended family by willing newspapers and platforms’.

Speaking further, Adamu says, ‘In view of the damage done to my hard earned reputation by this, I am consulting with my lawyers and will do everything within the ambit of the law to ensure that everyone involved in peddling and publishing this falsehood face the consequences of their unlawful actions’.

Music/RadioKoga Studio’s Zayo Becomes Darling Of Nigerian Campuses by bbbmedia(op): 6:16pm On Oct 06, 2016
When Raheem Adeyemi Abdsobur popularly known as Zayo emerged the winner of
the widely publicized Koga Open House Season Two, he would not have
thought he would be headlining campus concerts in Lagos few years after.

The dynamic artiste has gone on to headline campus gigs at the University
of Lagos, Yaba College of Technology, Lagos State University and others.

He has also had the opportunity of performing at Felabration and Jimmy’s
Jump Off concerts not forgetting the comedy show AY Live in Lagos. One of
the moments Zayo won’t forget in a hurry would be the day he opened the
stage for the likes of 2Baba, Phyno, Olamide, Wizkid, Reminisce and a
couple of stars.

The outspoken singer won the Season Two of the Koga Open House, an
initiative of entertainment powerhouse, Koga studios. The competition
brought together 5000 youths with diverse music talents.

Zayo has been in the news lately following the release of another hit
single ‘’Obi’’ featuring Music Producer Puffy Tee. The song which has been
enjoying rave reviews and radio air play was released under Koga Studios
which the artiste is currently signed to.

Aside the track ‘Obi’, Zayo has six other tracks along with three music
videos, they include Mercy, Ewo-omo, Anything among others.

When asked what he has been up to, the singer said ‘’I have been working
on myself and my music. You know Nigeria is a very difficult place to
excel in especially if you are an artiste. Not all artistes have record
labels that understand and support them like I have. I have been
performing at campus gigs and it’s been an amazing journey for me.

Recently I headlined an event at the Lagos State University and the
students showed me love, I was dazed! I just couldn’t believe what was
happening there on stage at that time’’.

When asked if he would be willing to work with other artistes, Zayo said
‘’Yes! I would love to. There are people in the industry who have been
there before me and are making it big, it’s always good when you can
collaborate with these stars. I have some names pencilled down, with time
I will let you guys know who and who I would be working with but in the
meantime, we are pushing the track ‘Obi’’’.

TV/MoviesOkafor's Law For Stockholm Film Festival by bbbmedia(op): 6:05pm On Oct 06, 2016
After selling-out three halls at the popular Toronto International film
festival (TIFF) Omoni Oboli's latest movie Okafor's Law has been selected
for Stockholm International Film Festival (SIFF).

According to Wikipedia, Stockholm International Film festival is an annual
film festival held in Stockholm, Sweden. It was launched in 1990 and has
been held every year in the second half of November. The film voted by a
jury as the best in the competition section receives the Bronze horse
(Bronshasten). Since its start the festival has focused on bringing forth
and supporting new talents through competitions and scholarships. A third
of the films selected for the festival are made by a debuting director.
The main goal of the film festival is to show quality film from every
corner of the world.

Okafor’s Law which is the most ambitious movie of Omoni, reportedly gulped
about 40 million in production and is coming after her third movie in
cinema, Wives on Strike sold 70 million, making it the third highest
grossing Nollywood movie at the cinemas.
Okafor’s Law stars established acts such as, RMD, Ken Erics, Ufoma
Mcdermoth, Blossom Chukwujekwe, Gabriel Afolayan, Tina Mba,Toyin Aimakhu,
Halima Abubakar Lala Akindoju, Betty Irabor, and others. With experienced
crew members comprising of Yinka Edwards (cinematography), Pat Nebo (Set
Design), and Tomi Adeoye(production manager), the movie is expected to be
an instant hit with the audience.

According to Cameron Bailey, the artistic director of TIFF since 2012,
Okafor’s Law is about a slick serial seducer bets his friends that he can
bed three old flames in six weeks, in this risqué comedy from the director
of the smash hit Wives on Strike.
The law that says that straight men and women can't be just friends;
Okafor's Law argues that once friends get benefits, those benefits last
for life. Rooted in the eternal lessons of lust, this saucy romantic
comedy further establishes Omoni Oboli as Nigeria's answer to Nancy Meyers
and Lena Dunham.

Terminator (Blossom Chukwujekwu) is known by his best friends Fox and
Baptist to be a successful serial seducer, but even they are shocked when
he ends up in bed with an old flame right after her engagement ceremony to
another man. It's Okafor's Law, Terminator explains. Once there's a strong
sexual spark between two people, it never dies; they can rekindle it even
though wives or husbands seem to stand in the way. Prove it, his friends
demand. And so the challenge begins.

Baptist (Gabriel Afolayan) and Fox (Ken Erics) name three women that
Terminator must re-seduce within six weeks: a churchgoing banker, a
workaholic businesswoman, and the second wife of a rich, neglectful
husband. The stakes? Valuable shares in a farm, and Terminator's status as
king of the machos.
Omoni Oboli, whose last film Wives on Strike was one of this year's
biggest Nollywood hits, has struck a chord with audiences by cutting
straight to the heart of the romantic and sexual games men and women play
with one another. As we watch Terminator scheme to get the three women
back into bed purely to impress his friends, Oboli reveals some
uncomfortable truths about her characters.

Featuring a sharp script and a delightful cast who know how to have fun
with the material, Okafor's Law is a risqué delight.
The movie will be in cinemas across Nigeria in first week in April 2017.

Yvonne Jegede

She appeared in the video of 2face Idibia’s awards-winning single, African Queen. After that, Yvonne who had already cut her acting teeth in a movie shot by Charles Novia, went back to school and later returned ready to conquer Nollywood. Her works include The First Lady, 3 is a company, ATM, MY Best Friend’s Wedding and Bed of Lies.

Ruth Kadiri

Ruth Kadiri fits into the category of one that has each of her legs in the establishment Nollywod (old Nollywood) and the new Nollywood. She plays big in the Nollywood movies produced in the Eastern part of the country and very much active in the new Nollywood with predominant presence in Lagos. No new starlet on this list has the number of body of works that Ruth has and to crown it all, she has started producing her own movies and become a very active member in the business side of Nollywood. Her works include: Matter Rising, Heart of a fighter, Somebody Lied, Unconditional, First Class, Circle of Trust

Mary Lazarus

With little or no presence in Asaba, Delta State, Mary Lazarus has been able to make a name for herself. After clinching her debut role in 2009, Marry painstakingly honed her skills and applied it to her craft. The result is what we are seeing today. Today, she is one of the busiest actresses in the industry. Her works include Don’t Cry for Me. Blackbird, For the Wrong Reasons, Bad Drop and Losing Control.

Kemi Lala Akindoju

There is about no present generation of Nollywood starlet that did it her way like Lala as she is fondly called. Whether deliberate or not, her every step was strategic. She started with the stage, stuck to it and made a name for herself there. When she wanted to crossover into the industry, she befriended the older generation like Joke Silva, learnt the trick of the conventional Nollywood and started finding her path. Without publicist or Management Company, Lala has found her path and already on the journey to bigger stardom with little or no help from the establishment. Though she now has a management company to further establish the brand, we will remember Lala as one of the few that did it on her terms. Her works include: ‘Trials of Brother Jero’, Ojuola in Ola Rotimi’s ‘The Gods are not to Blame’, Sizwe in Athol Fugard’s ‘Sizwe Bansi is Dead,’ ‘The Wives,’ Dazzling Mirage,’ ‘Tinsel,’ ‘Alan Poza,’ ‘Surulere,’ ‘The CEO’, among others

CelebritiesI Don’t Hate Igbo And Never Dated A Fulani Man-queeneth Agbor by bbbmedia(op): 11:56am On Jul 10, 2016
Fast rising Nollywood actress, Queeneth Agbor early this morning issued a statement clarifying the interview that was published in Vanguard Newspaper. She said she was misrepresented and misquoted. Below is her statement.

Re-My Take On Dating Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa Guys

On Saturday, an interview I granted respectable newspaper, Vanguard was published but curiously I was misquoted and many of my sentences misconstrued.

I am issuing this statement for the record purpose and for the sake of posterity:

One, I have a lot of regard for Vangaurd newspaper despite this unfortunate incident

Two, I do not in any way dislike Igbo people. I dated an Igbo guy in the past, the relationship did not turn out right and we went our separate ways. The fact that the guy slapped me did not mean all Igbo are bad. I have met some wonderful Igbo people, much goodness abound among Igbo. One person’s behaviour cannot be used as yardstick to define a whole tribe. I apologise to all Igbo people who feel offended by that statement. I also need to put it on record that I never said Yoruba are philanderers. I apologise again to those that feel offended.

We also have a duty to provide constructive ideas to help them do their jobs better.
