Okay, you have to get junior ready for school, get something for hubby to eat (okay in this day and age he probably steps up to help out) and get yourself ready for work ... so where is that time for you to spruce up and look fab.

Fear not, I have a few tips for you using just 3 products!

PUT THAT FOUNDATION DOWN!!!
Okay its not that serious, but putting that foundation on means that you now have to repaint the blank canvas you just created.

Rather, cleanse your face, put that moisturiser in, brush on some loose blotting powder using a big fluffy brush.

Add your favourite mascara to your lashes (its good practice to replace them every few months - they're not meant to last forever!

Stick on some pink lip gloss.

.... and you're good to go!

you can cheat and put a brown lip liner for better emphasis ;-)

Hello, I think Body Temple Spa in VI does it
Not quite sure where else it's done in Lagos (not sure where you are?), but be careful they are experienced and actually know what they're doing.
Also be careful of sun damage to your skin afterwards

Fashion / Chemical Peel - A Magic Wand To Solve Your Skin Problems by Bbgirlnaija: 11:28pm On Aug 06, 2013
I wonder if some of you guys have ever tried this? Some call it a chemical peel, some chemexfoliation or just derma-peeling. Basically, it is a technique to improve the appearance of pigment changes in the skin, acne scars, mild sun damage, or fine wrinkles.
It’s also meant to reduce dark patches due to pregnancy or taking contraceptive pills.

The chemical peels destroy and remove the upper layers of skin to allow for skin regrowth, improving the look and feel of skin that is dull in texture and colour.

There are different types of chemical peels, depending on how strong a chemical (acid) is used. Superficial peels are the mildest type and usually use glycolic acid. This peel may slightly reduce but unfortunately sad does not eliminate signs of aging. Medium peels are used to treat mild to moderate wrinkles, long-term sun damage and pigment changes. And the most extreme, deep peels are used to treat severe wrinkles, long-term sun damage and pronounced pigment changes BUT -and this is very important so take note - deep peels are not done on darker skin types, because they bleach the skin (!!!)

So yes, generally speaking, loads of benefits in terms of improved look of your skin … but remember that although deeper peels result in more dramatic effects, they also entail higher risks, increased pain, and longer healing time. Crusting, scaling and swelling may be common and increased sensitivity to sunlight. And if you guys have a history of herpes outbreaks then you are especially prone to infection after a chemical peel.

So what’s your take on that? I guess it is matter of balancing out …

I will check out a few beauty clinics and then make up my mindsmiley

Ever heard of waist cinchers?
What!?
Where have you been? You mean you haven’t discovered them yet!?

Get some awesome curves faster than you can spell “B A B E”. They help suck in that tummy and emphasis fantastic hips quick quick. Ideally, you want to naturally lose the extra luggage and get into shape naturally but nothing says you can’t look great in the meantime … besides, how would he know (except he’s your husband!). The best thing is that there’s a size available for most women!

They also come in a variety of styles, just get one fairly comfortable so that you won’t boil in the heat.

Fashion / Sexiest Ear Cuffs - What Do You Think? by Bbgirlnaija: 11:23pm On Aug 04, 2013
These accessories have been around for a while and came back into fashion about last year-ish.
I think they could make an excellent addition when matched right. Even celebrities such as Rihanna and Alicia Keys love them.
They're mostly quite affordable but of course, if you want some real bling ... you pay for it!

Fashion / Classic - Human Stampede In New York Designer Store by Bbgirlnaija: 1:30am On Aug 03, 2013
Wow!
This just made my day watching this youtube clip.

People are invited to a viewing at a high fashion store in New York. The wait outside several hours then 100 people are let in. The designer then greets them... oya read on

"So happy you could make it here today and thank you so much for waiting," says the brand's founder and creative director Wang in a recorded message shown to the group. "When the door opens you're going to have access to the T by Alexander Wang collection. There's stuff for girls, stuff for guys, some older stuff, some new stuff, some classics. And by the way, everything is free." Cue screams.

"Take as much as you physically can 'cos there are no shopping bags, no shopping carts. I don't care how you take it - it's all up to you. Have fun."

Ghenghen, ... the bloodbath begins even girls are at each others throats to get the free stuff - I wonder how many people actually got their sizes or how many of those clothes went straight to ebay?

Fashion / I'm Too Black To Burn From Sunrays by Bbgirlnaija: 12:39pm On Aug 02, 2013
That's officially bbgirlnaija's first Kanye West quote in this space.

Thats not strictly true as mentioned in a previous post, I think its assumptions like that that put us in harms way without knowing better.

Yes black people do have loads of melanin that reduce visible signs of aging, fine lines and age spots compared to white folk.

People of African descent can have a natural sun protection factor (SPF) of up to 13 as compared to 3-4 for Whites. This does protect us from ultraviolet (UV) sunrays, thereby decreasing our risk for skin cancer and aging early. However, it does not provide complete protection from either (ebony.com).

Actually the darker you are the more melanin you got but dont take this as a licence to stay out in the sun unnecessarily. Excessive exposure to the sun can lead to sunburn and mutiple instances of sunburn over time can lead to skin cancer.

Although black people have a lower risk of catching skin cancer, we experience higher death rates statistically, no one knows what the rate at which this occurs in Nigeria due to dearth of accurate data. Also the type of skin cancer we develop is different from those in the west.

Bob Marley actually died of skin cancer at 36 which was initially dismissed as a injury.

You dont need to shun the sun completely as we get vitamin D from exposure to it but do be sensible and keep kids covered and if possible supplement the vitamin d intake.

Look for moisturisers with sunscreen included and if you'll be in the sun try and get hold of sunscreen with spf 15 - spf 30 (use spf 30 with kids).
