In a sudden twist of events, Mister Zamani embraced his child and later renamed him Jamal.

Even though the Oleku superstar initially denied having a son with Bimbo Babatunde, he has finally accepted the paternity of the boy. These days he proudly flaunts his pictures of him carrying Jamal on the social media.

He is the chart-topping musical wonder-kid whose meteoric rise to the peak of the music industry has been nothing short of breathtaking. Life as a star boy however does have its downsides. Even though he also initially denied the paternity of his son, he has finally concurred.


Mother of the child, Oluwanishola Ogudugu was a student of the Houdegbe North American University Cotonou, Benin Republic. His son Boluwatife turned two sometime in May this year and Wizkid showered him with lots of birthday gifts. Even though Wizkid is not currently dating his baby’s mum, he has been a good father to his son.

A 25-year-old pastor, Samson Bamgbose, was, yesterday, arraigned before an Abeokuta Chief Magistrate Court, Isabo, Ogun State for allegedly causing the death of a church member, who drowned during a spiritual bath.

Bamgbose, a pastor at the Celestial Church of Christ, Alaapa, is facing a one-count charge of negligence.

The police prosecutor, Mr Paul Etusi, told the court that the offence was committed on August 15 at 3p.m. in Ogun River, Alaapa village, Abeokuta.


He said the accused took some church members, including the deceased, Toheeb Odusanya,13, to the river for spiritual bath.

1.Even five minutes of lateness is inexcusable on the first date. People are already anxious on these excursions, so making someone wait and think more about everything is pretty rude. Seems like the trend is to be late for things regularly. On one date, I texted the girl and told her I was running late. She said she was too. We ended up just having the date ½ hour later than planned and technically no one was late because we were both ½ hour late together.

2. Having a Wardrobe Malfunction
Make sure you cater what you wear to what you're doing. I try not to make a girl walk too much if she's in heels. Also, I've seen girls wear pearls and a nice blouse to trashy outdoor drinking events, or heels to sporting events.

When on April 6, 2013, Jane got married to ASP Olusoji Elegbede in Lagos State, their joy knew no bounds. Although Olusoji was a policeman serving in Yobe State, which is fraught with security challenges, Jane did not mind living there with her husband.

Their plan was to settle down, have kids and grow old together. But unfortunately, this was not to be as Olusoji was gunned down by his junior officer, a serving police corporal in Gashua Bade Local Government, Yobe State, while on duty less than five months after their wedding.

Olusoji’s widow, who spoke while fighting back tears, told PUNCH's Eniola Akinkuotu that she was still in shock over the incident.


Narrating what led to her 39-year-old husband’s killing, Jane said her husband, who was the Administration Officer at Gashua Police Division, was killed by a 53-year-old corporal, Andrew Bitus.

Nigerian students have threatened to shut down academic activities in private universities across the country if the Federal Government fails to urgently accede to the demands of striking Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities, ASUU, members



The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, said the action became imperative to compel government officials and prominent Nigerians whose children were in private universities to intervene in the matter.



The students spoke yesterday during a protest in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital. The protest was meant seek end to the over twomonth- old ASUU strike. NANS Director of Action and Mobilisation in the South-West, Mr. Sunday Asefon, said the placards-carrying protesting students were annoyed by the Federal Government’s insensitivity to the plight of the students and the falling education standard in the country.

A preacher with an evangelical church in Kenya’s Nakuru County was shocked when a prostituté he picked up for séx told him she was a member of his congregation.

The preacher, 56, picked the woman along Club Road, Nakuru at around midnight last Friday before driving off with her in his car.

The preacher, who was disgraced in 2000 after his contact with someone’s wife was exposed, picked her up seeking a date, a common euphemism among prostitutés for séxual contacts.


“For séx, I mean that’s why he picked me, that’s what I do, I’m a prostituté,” she said.

The woman said after they ‘transacted business’ in his posh car she revealed to him that she was a member of his church and he was shaken and pleaded with her not to expose him to other members of the church.

The lady of the night said she got an extra Sh20,000 up from the Sh500 so as to keep her mouth shut.

The Ohio man who held three women captive in his home for nearly a decade before one escaped and alerted authorities has committed suicide in prison.

Ariel Castro, 53, was found hanging in his cell around 9:20 p.m. yesterday Tuesday September 3rd at the Correctional Reception Center in Orient, in central Ohio. A week ago, Africa’s biggest reality show, Big Brother Africa (BBA) crowned Dillish Matthews the winner of BBA- The Chase. The same week, a Namibian journalist exclusively interviewed Dillish where she said she was looking for her biological father. Dillish has never come face-to-face with him and only learned about him from her mother.

Microsoft has agreed a deal to buy Nokia's mobile phone business for 5.4bn euros ($7.2bn; £4.6bn).
The purchase is set, according to BBC, to be completed in early 2014, when about 32,000 Nokia employees will transfer to Microsoft.
While Nokia has struggled against competition from Samsung and Apple, Microsoft has been criticised for being slow into the mobile market.


Describing the deal as a "big, bold step forward", Microsoft chief executive Steve Ballmer told the BBC that his company was in the process of transforming itself from one that "was known for software and PCs, to a company that focuses on devices and services".

In February 2013, 28 students of Redeemers University were expelled by the university for allegedly failing drug tests. The tests were conducted last November for 42 students during their exam. The expulsion generated a lot of criticisms causing the school to rescind its decision in April. The school wrote letters to the affected students asking them to face a panel to explain why they failed the test, after which the panel would make a new judgement.

In a last-minute move before the end of the transfer period, Arsenal have acquired Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid.

There was pandemonium at the busy Seme Border, linking Nigeria with the Benin Republic, yesterday, when a large mob unleashed mayhem at the border.

Eyewitnesses said a 35-year-old man, Saturday Joel, had being shot by officials of the Nigerian Customs Service when the customs officers were trying to apprehend a motorist who was smuggling a red Volkswagen bus from Benin Republic into Nigeria.

Punch reports that after the shooting, some residents took to the streets in protest, alleging that
customs officials had killed at least three motorists this month under the pretext that they were smugglers.

It was learnt that in the ensuing pandemonium, the customs officials stationed in the area fled. However, a Superintendent of Customs, identified as J. I Motojelu, was said to have been driving by at the time.
So, in retaliation, the angry mob, led by a community leader, dragged the officer out of his Toyota Corolla car marked ABJ 663 DW, and killed him.
The irate mob also set the deceased officer’s vehicle ablaze and set up bonfires at the centre of the road.
The culprits were said to have used the opportunity to steal some items that had previously been seized by customs.

A volunteer group by the name De Raufs has offered to sponsor 15year old stowaway teenager, Daniel Ohikhena who sensationally hid in the tyre compartment of Arik air flight from Benin to Lagos.

In a statement signed by the Director General of the group, Comrade Amitolu Shittu, the group stated that it is ready to give scholarship to Daniel up to university level and help him realise his dream of travelling by air legitimately.
