I'm force to comment on this though, even me too nurture this same thought but I want to share my own little experience and facts have gathered. I've been able to gather that all the recruitment that is ongoing, ( I.e. received approval, funds etc) will be completed as soon as possible unless the warranted circumstances occur, but after this pandemic the major priority of government as regards the recruitment will go to health and institutions. Even the security will be those that have approval already, those that want to but awaiting approval will be suspended. So my advise for everyone is to be vigilant and use whatever connection he or she has to press button for any current recruitment that is ongoing now that are genuine eg ncsdc, nis, inec, nauth, uch,etc or be watchful of any teaching hospital or federal medical hospital recruitment. For no 2 that is not necessarily the case, that person may have just spent 3 to 6 months chasing a dead end and is saving you the stress. You have to know that politicians can waste your time, collect your CV and give you hope instead of being real and telling you things as it is. Off course there is always connection that can override anything, but if you are in the drop CV category, better to focus on an agency where you will have better luck.

On another note you need to know that some agencies just need extra numbers for tests and interviews with no plans to ever hire those candidates. For example in the case of NAICOM testing 400 people but only calling under 70 people for APL. Most of those 400 people that were tested dropped CV with recommendation letter or through connection, but at least 80% of the under 70 people that got the job were probably slot candidates, people who officials nominated for their slots. Recommendation letter and dropping of CV is very different from Job slot/underground recruitment.
