seanfer: Are you people not tired of this shenanigans of Igbo must go story? Go to the north and you will see how the state governments are using their local language to pass information to the masses... LET US STOP SEEING EVERYTHING FROM THE SIDE OF TRIBAL/ETHNICITY. Honestly, Nigeria should just add Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo to our official languages. Many countries of the world have two or three and even four official languages. |
Romance › Re: How Do You Handle Randy Jokes From The Opposite Sex by beardedboy(m): 7:26pm On Jul 20, 2024 |
Theopneustos: Good day nairalanders
I have this thing disturbing me and I just want your honest opinion. I work in a place currently that my female colleagues are something else. What I mean is that they discuss and make sexual jokes and say saucy and obscene things when they come around me,both married and unmarried.
One of them was bold enough to ask me if I had ever had sex or have a girlfriend, she was so keen on that. The married ones also come around me and try to get me like give them money, asking me if I have a girlfriend and has 'knacked' before, they say all manner of sexual stuff around me waiting for my reply which I don't reply in that same vein,I either scold them or leave their midst, but to me that isn't the first time I am having women talk so boldly about sex around me.
I remember one showing me even sex positions on her phone and asking which one do I like and have I done, and this lady can hardly let me be,though engaged to another man who is outside the country, this was in my former workplace.
In my service year as I corper,I have to intentionally lock my door from allowing my female neighbours and Corpers come into my room because I have two in my compound then discuss about sex brazenly and asking me if I had ever had it.
I don't know women could be so bold this way,I am still surprised that there are women who can make such randy jokes and have no qualms, I used to think that it is men that does it more, but from my experience I can say that most women are. I don't feel comfortable when I hear women make such jokes or say such things around me and to me I see such women as loose.
Please how can I handle these persons in my workplace without sounding abrasive or holier than thou. Firstly, tell them clearly but respectfully/privately that you do not appreciate these extreme jokes. If they persist, report to HR. Secondly, these women will only destroy your life. Women know how to (and won't hesitate to) throw every other person under the bus when things go south. They are aware of this so every woman is always cautious around other women. That's why women hate women. Unfortunately, many men are either too naive or too blinded by their libido to realise this. |

My own is Nigerians shouldn't rush to celebrate this Lga autonomy bruhaha.
Nigerian leaders and masses always have a way of bastardizing even the best policies so we should instead be vigilant and prayerful instead of celebrating.
Moreover, the government that implemented this policy isn't really known for people-centricism so it could be a Trojan horse.
I'm not being pessimistic. I'm only being realistic and asking us to proceed with caution.
When you're in the jungle, you must uphold the "war or no war, always guarding" mantra.

Unfortunately, this rubbish is in every nook and cranny of the Nigerian society.
Artisans dare not do a job for anyone at a price lesser than what "the association" stipulates. Else, heavy fine awaits you.
I remember in my final year. Student union went to connive with our lecturers not to allow us write exams until we pay SUG due. Money that they were looting and spending on smoking, clubbing and alcohol.
What's worse is that these associations have no benefit that their members (especially the weak and younger ones) enjoy from them. For example, despite paying huge dues to NURTW, their leaders won't ever support them when they're harassed by the police. Instead they'll blame them and ask them to "settle" the officers.
That said, this doesn't mean absolve our political leaders of their crime in looting us. It only shows that corruption and wickedness have been institutionalized in our society.
Tomorrow now, these wicked market women will give someone a Congo of garri and people will be hailing them, not knowing that they're only spending 0.01% of their loot. |

Standing5: I hope the livestock ministry doesnt get dominated untaxed cows. There is pig, goat, chicken, snail, fish, and rabbits/bushmeat. Of course it will be dominated by cows. Cows are the biggest source of livestock revenue. How many chicken do we produce in the country. Over 80% of the country doesn't eat pork. And that's even a conservative figure. Most of our fishes are imported. Don't even mention rabbits. Goats and sheep are most co-owned with cattle. |

Unbiased1: The health minister came all the way from Abuja to commission a maternity ward? A ward is just one small section of a hospital. Even from the pictures above you can see how small the ward is. Must we commission everything in Nigeria no matter how small it is? Is this not the same state where 1 MRI machine was also commissioned? I hope we don't start commissioning tables and chairs in the future. Firstly, A ward is a section not a "small section". Your definition is biased. Secondly, commissioning is not an option but part of the formal process of government project. Thirdly, what's wrong with commissioning an MRI machine? |
