Don't take me as naive Mr Intellectual
Are physical evidences and attributes unquestionable?
I just had a Baby Girl and she doesnt look like me or my wife (at least, convincingly).
Is DNA test a proof without a beleive and trust in its creators which you've never met?
You see the reason why I said Think Deeply
Before I give you a single proof of His Being.
I demand you define our basis of what is called PROOF.
Begin by telling me how you BELEIVED your Parents aren't imposters. Do I need to meet the creator(s) of DNA test before I trust it? If you think DNA test is inaccurate or doesn't work come up with ur findings and challenge it let's see. you haven't given me one single proof yet you have many of them. Are you stringy? |

shadeyinka: I can't but marvel at your conclusion.
You started with your own definition of Believe as Blind Faith. Now you use the words adequate preparation and indices.
If you are not deliberately, misinforming, what are you doing?
As per man created 3000gods, It's just your opinion and everyone has the right to think what he wants.
Keep using a ruler to measure the voltage of electricity: you'll get appropriate results after millions of years when the ruler would have evolved to have the capability.
Moreover, who argues day in day out if the Father Christmas came from the North Pole? Except atheists: if you want to be lost, it's your choice, why become an evangelistic apostle of Satan!? There is sth called context. That's what started this. I believe I will pass the exam!Does it mean that I have no evidence / fact backup to make the statement? For example if I say "I believe Trump is going to win his reelection." "Believe" in this context means hope/optimism. It is based on how well he has performed since he took office. This is entirely different with belief in God/gods. Here you are saying that a being/some beings exist without proof but based on faith. Stop mixing things up. Evangelistic Apostle of Satan? Well, Satan doesn't exist. There is no proof to support it does. |
Christianity Etc › Re: A Question To My Friends Who Are Believers by beatmonster(op): 7:53am On Mar 24, 2019 |
awesomeJ: First, the definition you've shown up there doesn't mean belief has to be without proof. The adverb "especially" just means, it's more common to believe without proof.
I am a Christian, and I believe in God because of the proofs I have. Proofs too numerous to count.
Say I have an ache in my head, I lay my hands on it, pray, and within minutes, it goes.
or I need to be out, and it's terribly cloudy, I stretch my hands to the skies and pray for no rain and a clear weather, within minutes or sometimes an hour or two, it's a clear weather.
or I have a job, and after a while, I get tired of it, I quit without yet having another offer, I count on God, and within weeks, I have ten-fold earnings.
or A lecturer gives me -10 in an exam that was already too tough to make passmark in. And everyone pities me thinking it'd probably be a terrible score. I pray, and few months later, one of those who pitied comes to say to me 'you get 79A for 525, but they gave you -10 now?'
There are many many many more. And not a day passes without several proofs showing.
So, I believe in God, but it's with plenty proofs.
In case you want to ask ' how are you sure it's God who did all those things'
I'm a Nigerian, and we answer questions with question, but only if those questions wanting answers are funny (foolish) in the first place.
So my answer to you would be 'is it then your grand father that did it?' My grand father did it all and I have proof |

shadeyinka: I believe I will pass the exam! Does it mean that I have no evidence / fact backup to make the statement?
I believe this government is bad! Does this mean there is no evidence backing my assertion?
When some peoples brain drains off logic! SMH
BTW
Why do you disbelieve in God without proof? Believe in the first case means optimism and hope that's is driven from adequate preparation for the exam. In the second case, what you believe is irrelevant. If the government is good, indices will back it up. For example Trump's government is good. It doesn't matter whether I believe it is good or bad. As for your last question, Man created over 3000 gods not the other way round. My position is they maybe a "god" or not. If there is, it definitely not the god of Christian, Islam and so on because there is no proof to support the existence of any of these gods. So we keep on researching to find out how these came to be through scientific methodology rather than blind faith. |

bloodofthelamb: It is true that our journey began without proof, but we don't end it without proof. The Lord told Mary, "believe and you will see."
Believing comes before seeing (proof). No, Seeing comes before believing. Let's say you need a flat TV. If I told you to transfer N90,000 before I send flat TV to you, would you agree? Why do we have pay on delivery? When it comes to real life, you apply your natural "seeing before believing" but your religion has been able to brainwash you to believe before seeing. |

PhenomenalMorgan: One problem I have with freethinkers is the way they scorn at and try to belittle something that exists naturally cause it's not logical... I am not talking about God... No... I'm talking about our Good given Intuition, intuition is "the natural ability or power that makes it possible to know something without any proof or evidence : a feeling that guides a person to act a certain way without fully understanding why" God Implanted a Natural knowledge and conciousness of himself in the hear of Every human... The issue is that such intuition can die(atheist) or can get stronger (thiest)... God chose to work this way, you can hate it but can't change it!! What you should ask is "Why does a person continue holding on to his belief" those beliefs are natural.. you can't change it!!! Those beliefs are not natural. Nobody is born a believer. Parents, Religious Leaders, Teachers, Siblings... start brainwashing a child immediately he can hear and speak. The child grows up with this forced upon intuition. Now, the origin of God came as a result of gap of understanding. Remember when lighting was caused by God of lighting and thunder? Today we know better. I assume you mean God in generic term not Yahweh, Allah, Krishna... etc I am still waiting for an answer to my question. |

About Typhoon, When We need prepared for evacuation, office like city office, town office etc will announce and cell phone will alarm before get late. Cell phone have English. But I'm not sure if cheap cell phone career have same alarm for evacuation and like my city office always speaking only Japanese for announce. I think someone who can't understand Japanese well, need kind of app for their safe. I want everyone have fun and safe in Japan
Anyway, Thank you so much!! I'm really really appreciate you!!!! I don't understand "everything no"? you husband didn't lie could you ask me the question again? |

I think maybe you already know that Japan is disaster country. There have app from Japan Tourism Agency "Safety tips". I think that app can assist your travel in Japan
If fat peoples use bus, they have to double pay in Nigeria? Is it true?
Nigerian peoples everybody can bring something on head? Everybody?
And I still can't understand well about name in Nigeria. Change name is common in Nigeria? Peoples give name for baby and call that name even after grow up? I mean if my member of family got baby and already give name, but I will not call that name. I will call another name or my name. My husband told me many times. But I still can't understand well. Even his name, nobody call his registration on paper name.
I'm sorry, still asking you many questions. I'm really sorry. fat people double pay? NO Everybody can bring sth on head? No Change in name is not common. Wives change surname to husband own. Baby name is culturally reserved for parents. Yes, even when the baby grows up. Japan disaster country because of earthquake? |

Meeting is helping each other and discussion many things, sharing something etc? Am I correct? Women can't join that meeting? or there have only women's meeting?
Shaving hair is like past? Yes, I think in Japan also many things are changing. Many things are different between elder generation and young generation.
About bride price, depending on the community is about village? Now I understand that why my husband told me marriage is difficult to young peoples in Nigeria. Maybe because of money? He doesn't pay bride price. He said because I'm not Nigerian. So if partner is foreigner, don't need pay it but count that marriage? He told me if not pay it in Nigeria, that marriage is not working(not count, family will not allow). What about in abroad? Seems like bride price is very important for marriage in Nigeria.
Sorry for asking you too much. I'm sorry and Thank you so much for answering me. I'm really appreciate you! Women joining/not joining depends on the members of the association and nature of the meeting. Yes, they have only women meetings. Example https://m./1064592170347911/?_e_pi_=7%2CPAGE_ID10%2C6334569689 click the above link to join foreign wives married to Igbo men. Yes, the younger generation is more open minded than the older generation. Thanks to internet and technology. Shaving of hair and some archaic culture are going extinct. what your husband told you about bride price is the fact. Another problem is marriage in Nigeria takes so much from a man in Igboland financially. You are still responsible for your in-laws one way or the other. By the grace of God, I will be in Japan in October this year to start language class and if I find a Japanese girl I love, I will marry her. Take good care of your husband oh |

That meeting is Resident association? Everybody must join? I know some Nigerian peoples have something like community in my country.
I was very surprise when I heard about shave hair. Is it rude if not shave hair? If not shave, peoples think that wife has no respect for husband? If wife die, what husband will do? Shave hair too?
Can't marry without paying bride price?! I saw many Topics about bride price on this Website. Seems like not cheap. So if a man can't pay, They will wait till pay it? What about woman? They also pay something or buy something? My husband told me that woman's side will buy home appliances etc. If both of them can't do that, They can't marry?
I'm sorry for asking you many questions. If not disturbing you or bothering you, Can you teach me? Yes, Igbo people do gather in Japan and other countries they find themselves to help each other out and advance their interests. we believe in communal strength. Shaving of hair is a culture that is evolving. It is no longer enforced as it used to be. Things are changing. men don't shave hair when their wives die. Bride price varies depending on the community. Man pay bride price to the woman's family, the woman's family accepts or rejects the bride price. That's how it works. If a man can't pay bride price, then he is not ready for marriage. Woman doesn't pay anything. |
