[quote author=IAmSabrina post=76923034] Thanks I get that a lot I already told you i went offline before your mention but oops! I guess that flew over your head I thought you weren't ready to argue Anyway, *cough* verifiable *cough* Yes I gave conditions, didn't i? You really need to understand what you read before you make a response. Its just an advice. "IF the newspaper has provided empirical, verifiable, objective evidence (those three words are important!), doesn't contradict itself, and isn't full of hearsay and illogical statements, fallacies & errors, then yes.", I said. Notice the IF in my post which implies that it may or may not be the case that newspaper will contain such detailed evidence You still didn't read that post, did you "In 1930–36, John Garstang conducted excavations there and discovered the remains of a network of collapsed walls which he dated to about 1400 BCE. Kathleen Kenyon re-excavated the site over 1952–1958 and demonstrated that the destruction occurred c.1500 BCE during a well-attested Egyptian campaign of that period, and that Jericho had been deserted throughout the mid-late 13th century BCE.", said your source. You'll note that after her investigation, Kenyon arrived at the conclusion that a conquest did happen. Now there's nothing really special here. When we get to the dating however, we have a problem... Kenyon stated that the destruction occured in the around the year 1500 (16th century)Lol plese correct your statement and that Jericho was deserted through mid-late 13th century. [quote]You might claim that the radioactive carbon dating of the city may have proved allusivelol, you have said it all but her statement suggests that the city of Jericho was actually unoccupied at the time of the supposed conquest. This is why critics have expressed dissatisfaction with the "evidence"Lol So that is to say that you believed such an event occurred but you don't believe it happened as the Bible said it. |

IAmSabrina:Then FSM doesn't exist! You have a contradiction! |

Re: A Question To My Friends Who Are Believers by shadeyinka(m): 10:26pm On Mar 23, 2019 |
IAmSabrina:It does. You said FSM is the creator just like Yahweh (that's your belief) Then You then said "you serve no god" Then FSM couldn't be a creator just like Yahweh: you painted it like an inconsequential entity that is not worthy of honour. Then, how can he be the creator!? That's the contradiction. 1 Like |

shadeyinka:Perhaps its the way i presented it, so let me start over.... Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. And outdated stories, passed by word of mouth, and later recorded, do not serve as sufficient evidence for god claims. The FSM is an extraordinary claim, so is Yahweh..... So do you have any unrefutable evidence for Yahweh's existence? 1 Like |

IAmSabrina:sadly the only evidence they can muster up is the BIBLE a book whose logic has been proven without reasonable doubt to be illogical. They simply want everyone, including logical and reasonable people to believe God exists simply because a book was written about him. 1 Like |

I'm yet to see any intelligent point from a theist |
Re: A Question To My Friends Who Are Believers by shadeyinka(m): 10:57pm On Mar 23, 2019 |
IAmSabrina:If God was a physical description, then you have a point. Extraordinary claims would require extraordinary physical evidence. Now, since God is a spirit, you'll need to use a different kind of rules: the spiritual rules. Since you don't believe in spiritual laws, you are completely blind. For those who believe, they know. FSM is nothing to you hence it cannot be anything! Before the invention of ammeters, the concept of current was an impossibility. To know God, you need your spiritual instrument within your spirit. 2 Likes |

beatmonster: First, the definition you've shown up there doesn't mean belief has to be without proof. The adverb "especially" just means, it's more common to believe without proof. I am a Christian, and I believe in God because of the proofs I have. Proofs too numerous to count. Say I have an ache in my head, I lay my hands on it, pray, and within minutes, it goes. or I need to be out, and it's terribly cloudy, I stretch my hands to the skies and pray for no rain and a clear weather, within minutes or sometimes an hour or two, it's a clear weather. or I have a job, and after a while, I get tired of it, I quit without yet having another offer, I count on God, and within weeks, I have ten-fold earnings. or A lecturer gives me -10 in an exam that was already too tough to make passmark in. And everyone pities me thinking it'd probably be a terrible score. I pray, and few months later, one of those who pitied comes to say to me 'you get 79A for 525, but they gave you -10 now?' There are many many many more. And not a day passes without several proofs showing. So, I believe in God, but it's with plenty proofs. In case you want to ask ' how are you sure it's God who did all those things' I'm a Nigerian, and we answer questions with question, but only if those questions wanting answers are funny (foolish) in the first place. So my answer to you would be 'is it then your grand father that did it?' |

shadeyinka:God is a spirit? Can you present any evidence for the spiritual? How do you test for a spirit? Yahweh supposedly operates in our reality, so are you now telling me there is no way to prove his existence with verifiable, objective evidence under a controlled setting? 4 Likes |

bloodofthelamb: No, Seeing comes before believing. Let's say you need a flat TV. If I told you to transfer N90,000 before I send flat TV to you, would you agree? Why do we have pay on delivery? When it comes to real life, you apply your natural "seeing before believing" but your religion has been able to brainwash you to believe before seeing. 2 Likes |

shadeyinka: Believe in the first case means optimism and hope that's is driven from adequate preparation for the exam. In the second case, what you believe is irrelevant. If the government is good, indices will back it up. For example Trump's government is good. It doesn't matter whether I believe it is good or bad. As for your last question, Man created over 3000 gods not the other way round. My position is they maybe a "god" or not. If there is, it definitely not the god of Christian, Islam and so on because there is no proof to support the existence of any of these gods. So we keep on researching to find out how these came to be through scientific methodology rather than blind faith. 2 Likes |

beatmonster:I can't but marvel at your conclusion. You started with your own definition of Believe as Blind Faith. Now you use the words adequate preparation and indices. If you are not deliberately, misinforming, what are you doing? As per man created 3000gods, It's just your opinion and everyone has the right to think what he wants. Keep using a ruler to measure the voltage of electricity: you'll get appropriate results after millions of years when the ruler would have evolved to have the capability. Moreover, who argues day in day out if the Father Christmas came from the North Pole? Except atheists: if you want to be lost, it's your choice, why become an evangelistic apostle of Satan!? 2 Likes |
