The trade volume between the North and their northern neigcours is very large that they also supply produce to North which the North supply to every part of Nigeria. You guys have no respect for the North, is it because they don't make noise in the media like you do?

I told you to stop showing me these Youtube shortclips, i know the southeast very well. If they supply the raw materials and they pick up some sandals in their trucks going back, is any bad in that?. Like i said, Onitsha or Aba is like a small town as the average Oshodi or Ikeja where market activities take place. Igbo need something bigger and better, a state-like, not these glorified mushrooms but mass migration cannot make it happen.
You know nothing about Onitsha metro doesn't end along express Anu, if you thoroughly know Onitsha you will not be posting this, it clearly shows you are empty Upper Iweka is like Oshodi, it's easier for many Northern states to buy goods from Onitsha same with Southsouth than going to Lagos, Abuja is very close to Onitsha than Lagos Port Harcourt is three hours to Onitsha than Lagos, Onitsha is commercial nerve center

Politics / Soludo Is Transforming Anambra To A Manufacturing And Logistics Hub by BeautifulMind2: 6:27am On Dec 30, 2023
Despite being applauded for taking Anambra to the 7th position in Nigeria in terms of the ease of doing business according to the 2023 Nigeria Subnational Ease of Doing Business Report and the achievements in road construction, Governor Chukwuma Soludo is not resting on his oars. With the Anambra Industrial City Project, Governor Soludo is on the verge of transforming the state into a major manufacturing and logistics hub in Nigeria.
In the last 20 months, the Governor Soludo-led administration has focused on foundational issues such as developing frameworks and urban renewal master plans, reworking the state’s security architecture, getting investors’ buy-in on projects, enhancing social welfare programmes and building basic infrastructure.
Having concluded these required foundational issues, all is now set to unleash the economic potentials of Anambra State with the Anambra Industrial City Project.
Also known as Ikenga Industrial City, the Anambra Industrial City is a proposed mixed-use development facility which features an industrial zone, commercial and retail spaces, research and development facilities, residential areas and recreation centers. The city will sit on a 4000-hectare of land. The planned city will increase Anambra’s potentials for exporting finished and semi-finished products to the rest of the world. The Anambra Industrial City shall have a special economic zone (SEZ) status.
A special economic zone (SEZ) is a broad term which covers a wide range of zones, such as free-trade zones, export-processing zones, industrial parks, economic and technology-development zones, high-tech zones, science and technology parks, free ports, enterprise zones, and others.

Fundamentally, a SEZ is an area in which the business and trade laws are different from the rest of the country. SEZ promotes industrialization, encourages foreign investment and promotes international trade.
A couple of free zones in Lagos stand out. These are: Lagos Free Zone (LFZ); Snake Island Integrated Free Zone (SIIFZ); Lekki Free Trade Zone (LFTZ); LADOL; Newsrest ASL Services & Logistics; Dangote Industries; and Alaro City Development Free Zone Badagary Creek Integrated Plant.

In order to reap the benefits of SEZ, Anambra State Government, last October, formally submitted an Expression-of-Interest (EOI) and made payment to Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) for a special economic zone license. With this application, Anambra State is expected to join states such as Lagos which has been able to attract over $22 billion investment in its free zones – i.e., special economic zones.
The development of Anambra Industrial City is in top gear. A few days ago, Anambra State Government welcomed a delegation from ARISE Integrated Industrial Platforms (ARISE IIP). The state government had signed an agreement with ARISE IIP at the 2023 Intra-Africa Trade Fair (IATF) in Egypt in November for the development of Anambra Mixed-Use Industrial City.

ARISE IIP finances, conceives and operates industrial ecosystems across Africa. ARISE IIP has footprints in Gabon with the Gabon Special Economic Zone (GSEZ), in Benin with the Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone (GDIZ) and in Togo with the Adétikopé Industrial Platform (PIA). The company is currently developing industrial zones in Côte d’Ivoire and Chad. These zones will mainly be dedicated to the processing of local agricultural products in Côte d’Ivoire and Chad.

A few weeks ago, a delegation from Anambra was in Togo and Benin Republic to understudy some of ARISE IIP’s signature projects. The plan is to replicate similar structures in Anambra.

At the moment, a delegation from Artelia Consulting Engineers Limited (formerly Mahindra Consulting Engineers) is in Anambra State for a feasibility study geared towards the development of a master plan for the proposed Mixed-Used Industrial City. The conceptual and design works for this industrial city are taking shape.
To power the Anambra Industrial City, you need gas and, of course, renewable energy. Gas is needed to power industrialization in Anambra State. To this end, the state government is already working out modalities with investors and the NNPC on how to expand natural gas infrastructure in the state.

Anambra is rich in gas. Out of the thirteen acreages in the Anambra Basin, nine are located within Anambra State. Unfortunately, only two of these acreages are currently being exploited.
To improve gas utilization in Anambra State, the state’s ministry of petroleum and Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA) are working hard through the use of special purpose vehicles to increase investment in the solid mineral and gas space in Anambra.
With Afreximbank providing financial advisory services for the development of an operational and governance framework for the $250 million Anambra Diaspora Fund, it is envisaged that the people of Anambra living all over the world can share in this prosperity.
It is a new dawn in Anambra!

Onitsha is a commercial nerve center in Nigeria and one of the industrial hub according to UN habitat
I read a report of one ignorant mind from west asking can Igbos build commercial or Cosmopolitan City? Yes Igbos has 100% built a commercial nerve center and cosmopolitan city for themselves without external tribe within short period, Onitsha is commercial nerve center in Nigeria, Onitsha has expanded to many towns and local governments that's Many ignorant minds from west doesn't know, the believe that urbanization end only in Onitsha town they see on Google not knowing that the city has expanded to many towns and local governments, most of the towns are even bigger than main Onitsha town, I have been trying to educate their ignorant minds, see UN habitat report about Onitsha, one of the ignorant minds that opened thread even wrote that no commercial nerve center in Southeast, I don't know what this guys smoke or they enjoying being dumbo

Carefully read UN habitat report on Onitsha

Onitsha, the gateway to eastern Nigeria and economic nerve centre of Nigeria , is located on latitude 6.1°N and longitude 6.8°E in the Anambra North Senatorial Zone of Anambra State. It occupies the eastern bank of the Niger River, covering some 50 square kilometres. Onitsha is strategically located and accessed through the east–west national main road from Lagos through Benin, which links the eastern north–south route via the Niger Bridge at Onitsha. The main concentration of population and industrial activity and the areas showing the greatest potential for growth are situated along this transportation axis. The recent process of urban expansion largely reflects the communication network. Onitsha’s location, which combines both road and waterway access points, makes it one of the four main potential industrial and commercial growth areas in Nigeria.
The city is split into two local government areas, Onitsha South and Onitsha North. Both areas are bound by Ogbaru local government to the south, Idemili North and Oyi to the east, and Anambra East to the north
surrounding area, including the neighbouring towns of Obosi, Nkpor, Oba, Ogidi, Nkwelle-Ezunaka, and Umunya, which existed before the founding of Onitsha.
Onitsha expanded inland, which led to the development of new residential areas along major arterial roads including Awka Road, Oguta Road, New Market Road, Old Market Road, Iweka Road, Modebe Avenue, Venn
Road, Court Road, Park Road, and Old and New Cemetery Roads. The planned new residential layouts also include the GRA, American Quarters, Fegge, Woliwo, Odoakpu, and Omagba; the indigenes mostly

reside in Inland Town (the historical and traditional
section of Onitsha).
The central business district of Onitsha is around the main market, which is one among many. The influx of traders from all parts of the country and Cameroon
invariably contributed to the town’s physical and population growth. The low price of commodities in Onitsha market, the wide range of goods, and the accessibility and low cost of transportation to and from
the town continue to draw people.
Onitsha’s location on the Niger River is advantageous; in addition, the bridge over the Niger makes the town the only gateway between south-eastern and south-western Nigeria. The rapid growth in the size of the town and the market coincided with the period of formal occupation of southern Nigeria by the British when Onitsha market became a daily market. Over the last 300 or 400 years, Onitsha became the commercial hub of Nigeria, the focal point of canoe traffic bringing yams, beans, rice, maize, and imported merchandise from the upper Niger, the Benue valley, and the coast through Benin, Warri, and Sapele. Onitsha has historically been a collecting and distributing centre rather than a production centre, and this explains its vast trading area, which includes places as distant as Kano, Sokoto, Maiduguri, and Jos.Onitsha also grew to become a major industrial, educational, religious, and administrative centre. As an industrial centre it now houses the largest number of industries in Anambra State. As a major religious centre, it has the largest cathedrals for both the Anglican and Roman Catholic churches, east of the Niger . And as an administrative centre, Onitsha houses two local governments and has high courts and other government institutions. Onitsha’s growth and trading roots have resulted in cosmopolitanism

FatherOfJesus:
It's impossible not for feel relax the moment you sight the bridge while traveling from the west to the east as an Igbo man.
This a symbol of peace and resilience against multiple enemies.

You feel calm and joyful. It does not matter how long you have been away or even if you were born outside of Igbo land, you will still feel different whenever you see this bridge. You get this feeling of euphoria on the bridge, seeing the skyline of Onitsha.
And then when the bus or car drops down at onitsha, you take a deep breath and just feel relax like "nothing dey xup again".
UN habitat understand the spirit grin
