How many local companies do you have?, there are more hotels in southeast than there are factories. Can those few indigenous products compete?, how far do they go beyond the SE?. The prevaling economic, social, territorial and regional realities throws a huge challenge to igbos to build a commercial center in the southeast. Almost 90% of the wealth transfered back home this December comes from outside. The fact remains that wealth is not distributed through crumbs sprinkling but by proper deliberate investments. The crumbs you take back home every year ending is unstainable to the development of the region. Several decades after, Igbos should be aggressive in replicating a Lagos, PH, Delta, or Kano in the southeast to boost sustainability. Would igbos ever challenge themselves to build home and attract investors than rushing down to catch the next bus going to other regions at the begining of a new year.

Learn to differentiate between turning to one city and being built up . Anambra has always been 2nd most built up and urbanized State after Lagos with Imo as 3rd but it doesn't translate to being one city. That's the reason people from those particular built up area pften called Igbo heartland are everywhere more than other Igbos. That urbanization needs to be halted to allow planning for spacing and possible city development to save land for the indigenous people.
