The best thing is for us to start calling those punks at the Secretariat again to know which other story or excuse they have this time around. SMH huh
Oga, a statement like this is totally unwarranted. We are all waiting/expectant/anxious/praying against further delays but please let's do it with some decorum, na.

@stagger, thanks so much for your contribution. you are a great man.
I still hope to hear from jeffmyson and Denn, I really respect you guys knowledge of business and your contributions here and many others.

@stagger and blink182, i see where both of you are angered and i feel all of us following this thread see that too, but the point is, it doesn't matter. its a small world and don't be surprised, you guys might meet in person and like each other from the first day. so i feel its ok with the exchange of words, if you guys continue then you guys will prove that you are selfish by turning a thread that is helping many people to be about you two alone, which is not fair at all.

It takes the strongest to say sorry truthfully to the other party and make up. even if he/she is right. we don't need this. both of you don't need this either. check deep down your hearts and you will discover you don't need it.

@Denn and jeffmyson, still hoping to hear from you guys and any other person that has a contribution for me, i will truthfully appreciate from my heart.

finally all of you guys contributing to this thread are great!
Hi.

I think you should go for a Capfund facility to start up. You can get up to 3.5m for equipment without collateral.

They have a list of equipment vendors you can buy from but fortunately FIIRO is one of their accredited plantain processing equipment suppliers.

Basically, I'm suggesting you contact them, they will link you up with a Business Support Provider who will help you think through and put your application together.

Start the process right away so you stand a chance of possible disbursement by January ending/early February. Invest some part of your N1m on renting (not leasing o) the 4 room apartment jeffmyson mentioned and in commencing your NAFDAC registration process. Please remember to keep some of the N1m for buying plantain bunches o so you can at least cover some of your other current expenses with a measure of revenue.

Mentioning that you are a Youwin awardee, explaining your 'situation' (and taking your FG agreement/tranche disbursement schedule along) might help. And ultimately, your Youwin monitor will 'hopefully' appreciate your efforts with a N1m disbursement and trigger your next tranche before you get too wound up with salaries and all.

Oh, and the Capfund has a moratorium of 6months too.

All the best and and may your efforts work out for your good!

Cheers!

Omo mehn, this matter o di n getting critical oh!

Farmhands are dispersing for 'Christmas' like gas in air. Most don't converge until the rains start in March/April. One is not sure how soon (this week) or not so soon the funds will be released so keeping, feeding and paying them is tricky. *sigh*

With FULL appreciation of the generosity of the Youwin project (and hopefully no entitlement mentality), the responsibility of producing good results as soon as we hear GO!/ i.e. ONCE the funds are released is making the matter pinch harder every passing day oh!

Denn:
How will access bank generate account numbers when they don't have access to our company names?

Youwin only sent our names, youwin id and email to banks.

Some people will already have business accounts in the banks. An update of their file will be all that is required.

Account number generation involves a lot of processes and cannot be done for companies except with the availability of certain information... RC number, Company name, details of directors, TIN, ID card details, address, phone number etc.

CIF creation even before account generation....

Except youwin has sent scanned copies of our docs and id,
Denn cheesy

Denn,

You know when people mean business, they get things done.

All they need do is assign a/c numbers to each awardee - pending when details are provided/updated and all.

Such an extraordinary move is possible if approved by the head office. Not sure of CBN regulations but it stands to reason that there shouldn't be many issues for an FG run/screened project.

Not every bank will be like UBA (non Youwin designated branch) that spent close to an hour printing (non readily available) account opening package. Not looking forward to the next 12 months with them. #Conditions #CrayfishTinz :-D

Hi, Favoryourl.

Please (based on your past experience) are we going to need the 2 usual corporate referees? Or does the Youwin Secretariat referral cover for that requirement?

Many thanks!

Hi.

Thank you so much for this post! God bless your heart!

Can this be combined with grafting? If not, what are the practical pros and cons of both practices? In your experience, which trumps the other?

As you also stated here, my farm is in Ogun state and I will delighted to get your telephone number for further talks.

Thank you so very much!

Hi, Jethro.

I keep seeing your helpful posts here and I will be delighted to join the Oyo State Cooperative.

I will also like to seize this opportunity to introduce an offering to the house. It is actually one I have seen you talk about on Nairaland (drip irrigation). Kindly refer below. We presently have over 100,000m in stock (on ground in Lagos) I look forward to rubbing minds with and learning from everyone here:

"Hello, Fellow Nairalanders.

I own a flourishing farm and recently embarked on offering some of the breakthrough technologies we use to as many Nigerians/Nairalanders as are interested. These simple technologies can offer you as much as FIVE (5) times more returns than the average Nigerian farmer (all claims can be proven). These technologies range from high yielding seeds, drip irrigation, greenhouse technologies (micro and large scale), hand pollinators to name a few.

We presently have drip irrigation systems for sale for N50/meter (Minimum order is a roll of 2,000meters although for 1 hectare/2.5 acres you ideally need 10,000meters).

Payment can be made upon pickup.

Larger orders (50,000 meters and above) can be placed with a Bank Guarantee (Delivery within 2 weeks). All orders are on a cash-and-carry/full-payment-on-delivery basis.

For further enquiries, please call 08080339692"
