If you’re considering applying to UniCamillus /Saint Camillus International University of Health Sciences in rome, Italy, take caution. They do not refund fees or allow deferrals, even if you are denied a visa or face unexpected circumstances. Please take note to avoid financial loss.

Ok, thanks alot!

You can’t use a Microfinance Bank for your proof of funds. You need a commercial/recognized bank. The mfb bank can just be additional savings account that can be used alongside your personal bank account. Transfer the money from your mfb to your personal bank and show the source of the funds.

Thanks for your response.
Like how much is advisable to put in the account?
Also, if she transfer a lumpsum days before my application, won't it raise suspicion?

Currently it takes 4-5weeks to get a decision from the consulate. The Italian government stipulates that the only recognized sponsors are either yourself or your parents. In this case, if your aunt is sponsoring you, let her send the money into your account and you in-turn show a valid proof of relationship between yourself and your aunt. The source of the money is what they look out for.

Thanks. Sorry for many questions, pls what do you think one should hold for 2wks vacation excluding feeding and accommodation for family of 3?

borryworld:
No official No standard. You are only required to prove that you have sufficient plan for yourself and others.
TravelRe: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by Believe13: 12:14pm On Oct 08, 2017
Thanks for responding, we are staying with relative. Pls what's the official amount to hold? Is $1k cash OK for family of 3? Or they dont ask at the airport?

borryworld:
So much that can cover for expenses through the duration. No standard amount. The ideal thing is to research living expenses as it relates the state you intend to visit and draw your budget. Also include miscellaneous/emergency (we call it in case of incasecity)
TravelRe: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by Believe13: 9:36am On Oct 07, 2017
2 weeks. Staying with someone. Accommodation and feeding is being taking care by them. Its a relative.

Depending on how long you intend to stay.

Thanks Jawa really appreciate your advise.

To be honest I just want to use this holiday to tour a bit even to the UK smiley .Though my husband is not interested not an adventurer like me, he will always say" its a waste of money touring like that ,just pick one" I had to convince him to apply for the US visa with me cos I was told its easier with family. Been to dubia before. Anyway, by the end of this week should be able to decide apart from US which other country to visit. Thanks once again jawa. Might come again with questions, pls bear with me. Thanks.

[Qquote author=Jawa post=58165817]

dear believe13, your chances can never be told by a non canadian VO no matter how knowledgeable of the process you think the individual may be. you have a lot of doubts ant thats not good. whether you apply in the US or Nigeria, the VO that will adjudicate the case have the same training and the outcome will most likely be the same. prior travel to the US also will NOT guaranty a canadian visa. the whole circumstance is only known to you and the VO. always apply for visas where you have most ties to return to.
my advise and what i think you should do is to apply from nigeria and hope it comes out in time. in your letter of explanation, you have to explain to the VO why this trip is so important and why it can't be the other way round(her visiting) and integrate your itinerary in your letter. if you have been a traveller, reiterate to the VO that this is not your first time out of the country and you have always come back and this will not be any different.i may be wrong but i always assume that when a VO starts assessing an application, one of the first things he/she does is to read the letter of explanation and check the documents to verify and if things check out with their verification, they issue. really, canadian VOs are not like the US VOs who just look at your ties home and most times ignore your reason for visit.in a TRV application, your purpose of visit always has to make sense. i understand you want to use one stone to kill two birds and i really hope it works out. the world is too big and its lovely to see. best of luck.[/quote]

OK thanks.

abujaniv:
Hello Believe13. It's up to Customs and Border patrol to determine whether to allow a visitor into the country and for how long. A difference of two to three weeks is not likely to raise any issues. If CBP asks for it, provide an explanation to them.

Thanks VO for your assistance. I and my family was issued visa last week.

Can we stay 3weeks in the US. Though we filled 2weeks in our application.

My niece wants us to visit her and family for 5days in Canada. Though my husband doesn't seem interested. So I might probably go with my daughter.

My question is, will the extra one week not affect us at POE when we are questioned?
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Believe13: 7:20pm On Jul 02, 2017
I didn't state in my US application I will visiting Canada. If I now apply from Nigeria, will thére be an issue at US POE?

Secondly, I read in one of the post you answered, that you don't drop your passport when applying online.

Thirdly, how long does it take when apply online. cus I intend travelling by August.

Lastly, what if am already in the US when decision is made? Cos I will still be with my passport.

Jawa:
hiBelieve13, this is totally up to you. you can apply from the US. some pages back laid out details on how to do this in new york. personally, i like having my visas handy before traveling because most times my plans are cast in stone and missing a single flight or wasting too much time at a POE can be costly but thats just me. if you plan well, your trip should be able to accomodate the application. also check if you can apply online ahead of time so you'd just go for biometrics on arrival.
however, since your niece is canadian, it seems like it'd be more convenient for her to visit you. in your letter of explanation, mention she is a citizen(attach passport if possible) and point out explicitly why she is not the one making the trip and why it has to be you, have enough money and i think you're good. to me, your plan looks good but bear in mind that no matter how many people you know that have done this successfully, securing a visit visa while on a visitor status in another country is always a difficult task so have your documents handy to make a VO nudge in your favor. best of luck

Hi jawa, still waiting for you to respond to my question . don't know much about Canada. However, I like to comment on the below.

Honestly, I have somebody who applied for canada student Visa but was denied and banned for 5yrs because it was detected he used agent. But he went ahead to apply to US for visit and he was issued Visa.

Jawa:
hi Justolusola, a ban is typically handed out for misrepresentation.in simple words, a lie.it will worry the US VO that this applicant is seen as untrustworthy but being upfront with information always does a trick here. in my opinion, it will affect the application all things being equal but the applicant can always explain to the US VO even before he raises the concern and to make sure to answer the DS160 truthfully. every application is different but this is quite a burden but good thing is that there is a chance to explain. best of luck
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Believe13:
Thanks Jawa for responding.

My neice is a Canadian citizen. She wants me to come to Canada. My sister is a US citizen, will be staying with her in the US.

Pls note am going with my husband and daughter to the US but I will be going to Canada with my daughter. my husband will still be in the US .will be spending 5 days there.

I would like to apply from US . To apply from Nigeria takes so long don't know why. I read on quora.com that you can apply from Newyork that it usually takes 3weeks . so if am spending a month I should apply immediately I get to US.

Awaiting your kind advice

Jawa:
hi Believe13, your question is not very clear. if you are asking whether you can visit canada with a US visa, the answer is no. you need a canadian TRV to travel to canada no matter where you're traveling to canada from. the electronic visa you refer to is called the ETA which passport holders of visa-exempt countries must obtain to travel to or through canada. this is because you cannot do a 'direct airside transit' via canada or the US, you must clear immigration, collect your bags and recheck them in if you're in transit.
if you're asking if you can obtain a canadian visa while in the US, the answer is yes but this is a daunting task. the decision is guaranteed to be made sooner than in nigeria but this may not be in your favor as you have no ties in the US. attachment to an applicant's home country or place of legal residence is what a VO is trained to look out for. best of luck. maybe your niece can arrange and visit you if this is possible as it would be easier for her to secure a b1b2. best of luck
