You have 3 options.
1. Keep using the car that way as it's a design flaw on the engine.
2. Buy a Japan variant of same engine.
3. Rebuild the engine with upgraded parts.

Please guys, I had cause to change my compressor about a week ago. But since yesterday I observed whenever I am in traffic and My RPM drops, I start experiencing heavy vibration in the engine bay and my RPM fluctuates. But when I am on motion, no such vibrations. What could be the cause?

Check your VTC and rocker arm solenoid area. It’s behind the engine by the passenger’s side. If the seals around those places are compromised, you’d get oil leaks.

I stay at Ejigbo which is close to 7&8 and I sell scan tools for 5k. Avoid driving the car till you scan and get it fixed and I hope and pray that you have been using Toyota's recommend transmission fluid. Though this issue can be caused by anything

I need help… whilst on the motion this morning, my car suddenly stop selecting gear(R, N, D)
My 2008 Lexus ES350 won’t move.
It doesn’t matter if I put it in drive, neutral or reverse.
The engine revs up in each gear..���

Switching off the ignition and ON it back to move(D) for some minutes which it will jerk forward , vibrates too and then stop selecting and the engine revs.

Sometimes last week, I left my car with guys who do repacks at my work place, they called to say my gear won’t go to P it stayed at D, and didn’t select R, P N… it was a i minor issue, they said a plastic clip that holds the gear stuff removed.

I hope it’s the same issue u are experiencing

I've been reading about how LEXUS burns oil and gear transmission issues on this thread.

Also I observed that people complained about overheating, brake rotors/disc problem and excessive fuel consumption

Hope the 2008 GS 350 doesn't have these issues

I have a lexus es300 I got toks in 2020. Csr drives well with zero problems but recently after the whole Xmas runaround I noticed acceleration problem. I scanned with my obd and got p0330 for knock sensor, p0420, p0430 for cats and two other codes related to small leak of fuel vapor.

This acceleration problem presents as difficulty gaining speed, there seems to be a 5 seconds or so delay in speeding up from a low speed like after a check point. I called my mech he inspected plugs and coils and said they're bad I changed them all plus fuel filter/pump but this thing continued. I requested they inspect the cats for blockage which was the case in the upstream bank and I had it emptied but this thing no stop.

I was confused. I ordered for new knock sensor plus the harness and I will fix them when they arrive. Yesterday on my way to pH I took closer look at the rpm and noticed it freezes sometimes. When I step on the gas on the highway I hear engine sound increase but rpm does not go up and speed does not increase. The rpm seems to be stuck at 1.4 as I step on the gas. At this time it is stuck, I struggle to gain speed till rpm starts moving up again.

I was not happy how corolla just overtake me come give me serious gap while I was struggling for that 5 seconds but if I remove my feet on the gas and step on it again, the rpm actually goes up and I can attain upto 130km depending on the road conditions.

Sometimes too the rpm bounces back to 1 with my feet on the gas then it sticks at 1 for 5 seconds then pushes upward as the car speeds up to high speed.

My problem is mechanics in my area do not understand anything I am saying but I know something is wrong with this car.

Does anybody have any idea what I'm missing?

Your vehicle needs 5W30 engine oil and, IMO, it might be unnecessary to ask the previous owner what he used. Simply buy an available and good engine oil, that meets that rating and run your change.

Oil change interval is 6 months or 5k miles, whichever is first.

However, you could extend that to 20k miles or a year, whichever is first with fluids such as M1 extended performance (with an accompanying filter for that purpose or you change filters halfway through).

What is the situations of:

1. The coolant reservoir. What is there?
2. How does the tranny fluid look like?
3. The power steering fluid?
4. The spark plugs, coils, throttle body, engine air filter and MAF?

Most Nigerian used vehicles are deficient in this regard, hence this checklist.

Tune up the vehicle, run your fluid changes, and you're sure to enjoy many years of pleasurable, reliable luxury.
