the first gcam 7 that came out was modded for only phones updated to android 10. I tried installing it, it wont even install.

the gcam is for all android above 9.0 regardless

I want to be really sure so I don't cause damage to my phone.

Gcam is just software, u need to back it up with good hardware to get something good out of it. If your phone has a poor quality lens, gcam won't magically make it a Google pixel equivalent.

GCAM works on selected MTK processors e.g Xiaomi note 8 pro supports GCAM and it works good

Just relax and enjoy your phone as it is, there's no need to stress over this gcam nonsense. I have a Realme phone and it's got a pretty weak camera, my previous infinix phone was even better. Luckily my phone supported gcam and I installed it, all it's done is help a bit in low light conditions and make better bokeh effects but otherwise it's still the same crappy lens so I say again, don't stress over gcam.

My phone camera and colour production is good but wouldn't say it's so great. I just want to see if GCAM will be better

Please guys, I know almost everything is possible on android smartphones. So I got myself the Nokia 5.1 plus because of the reviews I watched seeing how fast the processor could be (MediaTek helio p60) but I didn't research if it could support GCAM. So now I'm asking if there's any possibility to get GCAM working on the phone and what are the steps to install it. Thanks for your contribution.

I started mobile photography with the Hot 4. Lol. You should really play around with the Pro mode when you are trying to take close-ups. The device suffers in low light but if you introduce artificial light it will do better.
Shoot at the max resolution possible. Trust me, 8MP 4:3 is better than 6MP 16:9

NB: Use an ISO of 100/200, you can mess around with shutter time depending on how bright you want the image to be. If you shoot in bright conditions, use an EV of -0.5/-1, +1 in dark conditions.

Thank God I've not gotten the note 8 yet, I'll use my Tecno spark 4 for the main time till this Redmi note 9 is officially launched in Nigeria. I just pray it dosen't get to 70k but one thing is clear this year, I must port to Xiaomi.
No much difference between Note 8 and Note 9 sha except the punch hole notch

The processor on the note 8 pro is better than both of the note 9. So note 8 pro is obviously better
