We have to take full responsibility for our own lives. Once we do, we find that the problems we have are ones we can handle. Not only that, but we can often choose our problems. You may think if there were a choice between problems and no problems, you’d choose to have no problems, and I’d say you would be very wise. But this world doesn’t run like that. It works by degrees, not absolutes.

It works like this: You are going to have problems, but you now have a choice as to how to handle them.

Change means going from one state of consciousness to another. And this involves adjustments, which in most cases mean trouble. Adjustments equal trouble.

But when you get to the other side, all of a sudden you realize that things are better. That this life, this state, this new condition existed alongside the original one all along.

Love—The Keystone of Life

The counterpart to the Light of God is the Sound of God. The sounds of nature mimic this Sound of God—birds or musical instruments; the sound of a train, a plane, rockets, or crickets; or some other sound like the high energy of a motor or an engine. Again, this is the action of the Voice of God working within you to leave you a little better, a little bit more purified spiritually than you were before the experience.

If you believe Soul is born within the realm of time and space, you can’t really say It’s without a beginning. It has a beginning in time and space, if you’re going to look at it that way. But God created Soul before the worlds began.

Soul merely comes here as part of Its experience from the other worlds beyond time and space. It comes here and has many, many lifetimes learning one thing or another.

Truth Has No Secrets

The Light of God may be yellow or blue or any of the other colors; It may look like a lamp, a spotlight, a flickering candle, or a lighthouse off in the distance. It may come as a soft glow, It may come as a piercing ray of light, or It may come as a bolt of lightning. It may come in any number of ways to your inner vision. But each time you see the Light of God, It will uplift you spiritually.

Instead of talking about all we know, at times it pays to just listen. Listen to the people around you. If someone’s telling you something spiritual and positive, this is from the Voice of God.

Things that are negative and destructive to you are from the negative side. Do not do them—no matter how spiritual the person is who says to.

The Light and Sound are the two aspects of God that speak to the human race, that speak to each Soul. The Light and Sound together are the Voice of God, what the Old and New Testaments call the Holy Spirit or Logos. Together, they are simply divine love.

People think that the Holy Spirit speaks to us in the human voice. This can occur, but it usually happens when a messenger of God—an angel, for example—is sent to a human being. Then people hear a voice. But the pure Voice of God is music, the Audible Sound Current, the Holy Spirit.

What we are aiming for is not to avoid the roller-coaster effect of life, but to gain the middle path. This means the path of moderation, the balanced outlook, the spiritual viewpoint that no matter what happens, the sorrows of life will not bury us forever. When loved ones leave in death, we cry—but not forever. We are able to face life knowing that they will still live on in full consciousness.

We know that the divine cause, the Divine Being, has put us here to learn something. It is up to us to go out into life and find out what it is.
