Thanks, I was able to find a student's fellowship. A woman once said in an ECk transmission that being an ECK doesn't mean you can't practice other religions. . How true is this?

The woman is right. ECKANKAR does not restrict anybody from following any other path that the person wants to follow but it will open your eyes to any illusions being presented in any path you find yourself and you will be able to know the difference between the truth and falsehood and use the one that will benefit you in your life.
primary question is what is ECK? ECK simply means Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit is the pure essence of God with which God created all life and which can be seen as light and heard as sound.
ECKANKAR comprises of two words. ECK and ANKAR. ANKAR simply means the way. so put together ECKANKAR simply means the way of the Holy Spirit which leads to spiritual freedom.

ECKANKAR is the only religion on earth today that presents the pure teachings of the Holy Spirit without the accompanying social trappings and political maneuvering which you see in other religions today. it is a pure spiritual path devoted only to helping ready souls to get in touch with the Holy Spirit that lies within each Soul. once that contact is made, The Holy Spirit leads you to all truth.

that now leads to another question. what is the purpose of practicing religion? the answer you give to this question will determine your path in life.
