RomanceI Hated Loving Her (femme Fatale) by benori(op): 8:21pm On May 16, 2020
My name is Andrew. This is the story of how I fell in love with Elena…

I am a banker, working in one of the Nigerian banks on the Lagos Island.

It is not uncommon to exchange contact with eye catching women whenever they come for enquiry or transaction, would usually call like five at the end of the day, and know for sure my weekend won’t be boring.

On the 5th of May, 2018. All the staff had resumed to the office with a glimmer of hope and fear. The horrible mental effect of the killing of 3 bankers the previous week in a nearby banking branch had not left our minds.

I had called and chatted with 5 of my colleagues talking about the brevity of life and the risk we face in the banking hall. We had complained and scowled over how temporary the job was and if it worths the risk at all. Well, you know how the banking authority can terminate your appointment without prior notice. The day was not filled with desire to behold any beauty.

Anyways. This is not about my work place. It was the fourth customer after my lunch break. She was carrying a brown Gucci purse from which she brought out a form carefully filled.

She wore a long gown which revealed almost nothing about her body shape. With a scarf long enough to cover her head, neck and partly her face, like an hijab. Then on her face was a thick dark sunshade.

Seeing her from afar. I never got a glimpse of attraction towards her. Besides, I wasn’t in a mood to bump any lady. I was sure I would just do my job and move to the next customer till the day’s work would end. A decision I should have stuck with.

It was when she sat on the customers seat, removed her shades and spoke that everything paused…… It felt like a movie effect… I had thought every action in the banking hall stood still. Let me quickly share my dual experience.
1. Her eye. I think she consciously wore the dark shade to protect the whole world from being on hold. They were dashing. You would think you were seeing the Cinderella anime. I couldn’t stop staring until she spoke.
2. Her voice. The moment she opened her mouth and said “good afternoon, please can you help me out with…” I was lost in the enchantment of her mellifluous voice… I thought I was in an ensemble.

Unprofessionally, I said. “I’m Andrew, but please call me Dre, and yes, I will help you out”

I was able to process her application for a new account in a very short while telling all involved how important it is to get the account running soon. My friend Jamal (whom I will mention again in this story) was of great help. It was quick and precise.

While I was done, I simply asked. May I have your number, would love to hang out with you sometime, which she replied without hesitation, ‘okay’. Now I know you are wondering how I got there.

During the period of her account processing, I had employed all my charms of speech, intelligence, jokes and smiles. Had asked a few information about her too. So we had a good one.

I had thought it was a classic catch. “I just need to ask her out once or twice and then we would be dating”. I thought to myself...

I will stop here before, my account is tagged for adult content...

EducationThe Origin Of April Fool's Day Explained! by benori(op): 4:41pm On Jan 12, 2020
First,

The origin of April fool’s day can be traced back as far as the period when Pope Gregory XIII established the Gregorian Calendar.

The Julian calendar which was used before his time has New Year Celebrated on April 1st, this was due to the irregularities later found in the Julian Calendar which is 11 minutes longer than the normal Lunar year.

This extra 11 minutes accounts for the lost of 11 days in the September 1752 Calendar. Read about this here https://brainerves.com/the-11-lost-days-of-september-1752/

Gregory had to correct this anomalies by creating a new calendar which represents the complete circle of the Lunar year which has 365 days, 5 hours and 49 minutes; The Gregorian Calendar.

The Gregorian Calendar has January 1st as the New Year, while The Julian Calendar has April 1st as New year’s day.

The Countries under the rule of the Pope (Catholic Church) adopted the new Gregorian Calendar, while the protestant Nations didn’t especially Britain and it’s colonies, then America. They continued to celebrate New Year on April 1st. This made many who believed in the accuracy of the new Gregorian Calendar to term anyone who believed April 1st was new year as fools…

They did this by sending people on “fool’s errands” or trying to trick people into believing something false. Eventually, the practice spread throughout Europe.

Second,

The second account on the origin of April Fools’ Day was provided by Joseph Boskin, a professor of history at Boston University.

He explained that the practice began during the reign of Constantine, when a group of court jesters and fools told the Roman emperor that they could do a better job of running the empire. Constantine, amused, allowed a jester named Kugel to be king for one day. Kugel passed an edict calling for absurdity on that day, and the custom became an annual event.

“In a way,” explained Prof. Boskin, “it was a very serious day. In those times fools were really wise men. It was the role of jesters to put things in perspective with humor.”

This explanation was brought to the public’s attention in an Associated Press article printed by many newspapers in 1983.
There was only one catch: Boskin made the whole thing up. It took a couple of weeks for the AP to realize that they’d been victims of an April Fools’ joke themselves from Boskin.

[s]ALERT! This article is written for advert purpose...
[/s] Enjoy...

When an American author, Richard Rorty, speculated about Antipodeans sometimes ago, the world thought it was mere farce.

Perhaps you have not heard of them too, they are here anyway and until we saw them roaming our streets and running our lives, we thought they can only exist outside earth. The unbelievable is they are not easily identifiable because they are humans like us.

One major characteristic of Antipodeans is that they lack the capability to distinguish mental imagery from psychic impulses.

This makes them dangerous to human society as they often find motivation for action in the pleasure they derive from it and explain events by recourse only to stimulus such events have on their nerve endings...

EducationThe lost days in the September 1752 calendar... What actually happened. by benori(op): 4:44pm On Jan 11, 2020
Why was 11 days removed from the the month of September in 1752?

What could it have felt like, slept September 2nd, to wake on 14th September? This was the experience of over six and a half million Britons who went to bed on September 2, 1752, and woke up on September 14 of the same year. What then happened to the missing 11 days of September 1752?

Before 1752, Britain and her Empire followed the Julian calendar, first implemented by Julius Caesar in 46 B.C. However this calendar had an inbuilt error of 1 day every 128 years, due to a miscalculation of the solar year by 11 minutes. This affected the date of Easter, traditionally observed on March 21, as it began to move further away from the spring equinox with each passing year.

To get over this problem, the Gregorian calendar was introduced. This is a solar calendar, based on a 365-day year divided into 12 months. Each month consists of either 30 or 31 days with one month, February, consisting of 28 days. A leap year every 4 years adds an extra day to February making it 29 days long...

Any picture of Jesus you see anywhere is and will remain FAKE. Reason being this, which photographer took his pictures when He was still on this surface of the Earth? Has photography been in existence before the advent of Jesus Christ himself?

A bunch of liars everywhere!!!
The argument is not whether the pictures are true or not, but, why is he conceived or represented as white and Satan as Black?
EducationIs The Historical Jesus Black Or White? by benori(op): 9:21am On Dec 08, 2019
https://brainerves.com

Everywhere you turn today in Christianity, you sees the image of a White God, of white angels, white apostles and white Jesus.

The only personality that resembles the black man is Satan. Is this a true picture of the real historical figures?

The black converts find themselves turning towards an identity of whiteness in prayer and psychologically he or she transmutes such idea of supremacy to any other thing white: white culture, western Education, Western conceptual schemes etc.

This idea of whiteness was the challenged by black liberation and prominent Among the black Jesus thesis advocates is Albert cleage, he said, Christianity suffers in the hand of a perennial lye: the black Jesus... https://brainerves.com/question/is-the-historical-jesus-black-or-white/

OP, don't get it twisted.
There were people who saw into the future as far back as history could not remember, but The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is definitely not one of those instances.

The case of Button is a fiction and will always remain a fiction, which would never be physically or scientifically possible even in the distant, most tech-advanced future.

Benjamin Button was born looking older than a centenarian, grew taller into a younger old-man till be grew into a middle-aged man, then he continued to grow younger and shorter until his stature shrank into a day-old baby after which he died.
The scenario above is different from the case of Sam Berns (in the second picture), who had Progeria.
While Button ailment made him grow younger from a old man to a baby and made him pass through impossible stages of height/stature increment and later decrement, Progeria on the other hand make a kid born as a normal kid age rapidly than usual, and they don't usually reach 30 years before they die.
A good analysis though, definitely the movie was partly fantasy, to entertain, but the bottom line is creating an awareness of the disease called Benjamin button which is a reality, though not 100% true as portrayed in the movie.

You wouldn't expect a movie not to have additional spices nah... even Titanic had to spice the story up to make it entertaining... you could read about 10 real life facts about Titanic never mentioned in the movie https://brainerves.com/question/10-real-life-facts-about-titanic-movie/
