I don't know if it's legal or not but I personally don't support it. Disciplining a child is not just about beating them because you are frustrated or to show seniority, it should be done with intention and communication with the child - you are getting your behind whooped because you did xyz, do you understand why xyz is wrong, do you know if you do xyz you will get your behind whooped again, etc. Then a show of love to reassure the child, that you're not there to hurt them but to make them do better. No teacher gets paid enough to do all this, my child, my responsibility to discipline. Add to the fact that a lot of teachers in Nigeria are frustrated (thank you underpaying government), and it's a recipe for disaster. Your child's cane will be extra because their parents have money. Don't touch my child. If a school feels a child's behavior is unacceptable then expel the child but don't discipline other people's kids. If they can't teach without cane then all of them need to go back to school to learn.

Sister, pls try teaching for a month... you'll see the need to flog school students... Though not approach to correction needs flogging but some do..

I met this lady over 6 years ago during my higher institution days, she was a fresher while I'm in my semi final year in school. Things were going well, we had sex after two years of the relationship(I'm the one that disvirgin her).

I have been very caring, stood by her and also,I let go of any ladies that comes my way. I didn't want anything that will stain the relationship. That doesn't mean I'm perfect however I have been trying my best to make her feel comfortable, loved and happy.

I started feeling comfortable and worried about my future with her because I discovered that anytime we had a misunderstanding, before you know it she has find a guy she will be dirty chatting with. She always say she's doing that to hurt my feelings.

I proposed last year, met her mum and one of her uncle and introduced her to my parents officially. Presently, waiting for her extended family to send the list for the traditional marriage.

I traveled to Ibadan on Friday to spend the weekend with her, on Sunday I just took her phone to watch movie when a Whatsapp message, I checked it and I replied the message. The guy called her, she was reluctant to pick the phone, she picked and spoke with the guy. After which the guy messaged her on Whatsapp that he called to confirm she's the one chatting with him and not her bf. I play along and started chatting with the guy. The guy was telling her to come visit him, I started twisting the guy and he was splitting out how he won't touch her when she comes. I confronted my girl, it took her over 8 hours to confessed that they had sex.

Jesus! This is a lady I invested a lot on, build my world around, every other ladies are shit in my presence. Even when I had 1000 of reasons to let go, I still stay with her but right now my world is shattered, I'm going crazy.
I need help because I'm dying, where will I start from (I'm 30 years old). Every negative thought of this world is running through my mind (from committing suicide to killing the guy to making the girl useless to herself for the rest of her life)

1. I believe you've not considering going on with the relationship which will be unwise for u to do. She's gonna cheat a million times after marriage. I doubt she even had sex once with him, I believe it's just a defense mechanism 2 protect her shattered ego.

2. There's no point avenging this in any way. U'll regret it when u get over it... (Where I am 2day, aside God vengeance was the driving force bcoz of same woman matter) though, I've let go of such motivational drive. it's really hard but you have to man up and pick up your life back, a woman shouldn't bring you down, be more social and engage in activities that'll keep you busy.

3. in this trying time, avoid any form of drugs or substance abuse (alcohol) time heals everything. I wish you all the best! hard luck...

I was born into Catholic faith and practice till I was 12 and I enjoyed it. My parent became deeper life member while we were living apart and now a pastor in that church. I re-united with them when I was 12 and since then I've been attending the church with them and still attend Catholic occasionally....I love the preaching from the founder of deeper life as he preaches the bitter truth but I believe most other young pastor see d church "doctrine" as commandment and so must be kept 100%.....the founder of the church addressed this issue several times but NO.

18 years on since we re-united, I'm a graduate, married and living abroad but my father still forcing his believe and doctrine on me. I considered myself spiritual but not so religious. I connect with my God easily but not a 3G church guy.

He made me and my siblings antisocial and introverted simply because he believed we shouldn't be involved in any social activities even sports. I still remember being beaten for playing soccer, he believes we would be influenced badly. Watching TV was a crime especially movies.

Fast forward to yesterday he rang my wife to check on us but the first question he asked was if we attend to church. I told him it's been raining and temperature was really low....then he started lamenting asking if I won't go to work if it wasn't Sunday,complaining about the country where I can't worship God...then to get me more exasperated he asked and insisted I tell him how many time I've been to church lately and how many times I've read d bible....I told him we've been attending but he insisted on a number.

This got me so mad that I stood up for myself under a heavy breathe as I do not want to disrespect him or hangup on him.I told him I do not appreciate being asked questions like a 10 yrs old boy and at my age I should know how to live my life and what's best for me.....he got angry and said goodbye and I guess he was still on d phone but I didn't know...I just hang up.....Now I've block him from reaching me ... planning to change my numbers.....but not any financial support. Only cutting all communication with him but not with my siblings as they mean more to me and I wanna see them through as much as God help me...

Please is this not an over reaction because I loved him as he's a very responsible man who puts the family first and strived to make us who we are. But we do not av a close relationship because of his believe even though he's been forcing it.

People who praised you for your actions are misleading you... Even though dad might be a religious fanatic, he questions disturbing and somewhat annoying, don't forget he breed you and influenced the process of becoming who you are now.. He might be wrong with his approaches but it's for your own good. take a minute 2 look at the motive behind his actions, I believe they are for good not the other way round... So bro, I'll advice that you call him and apologize.. U shouldn't make him regret having you.. Parents can be annoying I know.. Instead of being the man whom you are when similar situations arises, be the child they have. Am not an advocate of lies ooo, but if u had tamed the situation by spicing it with little Lies (its bad though) this wouldn't have happen.. Happy reconciliation!

Now, usually Hausa people with their history of starting a killing at the slightest provocation would have done just that but no! They know exactly that doing that right now would be against Buahri's government and it would actually help nnamdi kanus case. So they actually mobilize their people against any violence and reprisal attacks and they actually held solidarity rallies in favour of igbos living in the north, dressed as Igbos, sang Igbo songs and said nice things about Igbos and generally sensitised their people that the IPOB miscreants who killed their brethren in the east is quite a different person from the Obinna that sells second hand jeans in sabon gari market! This is actually not weakness and foolishness but pure wisdom! Surely wisdom is knowing when to be foolish! God bless our Hausa brothers for helping to preserve the peace at this volatile period in time.
