It's not surprising that Laycon joined that group. Whether it's pity voters, bandwagoners, tribal support or whatever factors that worked for him, the undiluted fact is that this season was made for Laycon.


From the stage up till Sunday when he wins the money, the stars have been aligned to favour him. So, no matter how much his actions might have infuriated you, no matter what aspect of his game that you may not like, no matter whether you feel he's deserving or not, to win the money, you can't deny that this is Laycon's time to shine. Next season, another HM will get his luck and win, but this season belongs to Olamilekan. It's been preordained in the stars.


I'm not his fan, couldn't really connect with him no matter how much I tried, still have some reservations about him, but it doesn't change the fact that Laycon came, saw and conquered. I Wish him the best as he leverage on his new found stardom and money to achieve his life dreams.

Well, all these things smacks of desperation. If we had good people running our club, we wouldn't be in this situation in the first place. We'd have known that Shaw is not reliable and can't be trusted to stay fit, and should have used all these months of isolation to look for his replacement or competition. If we had started pursuing this guy or alternates in time, we'd have been resting for now.

It's one thing to know someone is taking drugs, it's another thing to know what the drugs are exactly for. Erica is not a doctor, or pharmacist or in the medical line, she might know common drugs for malaria and co, but she'd have to be very knowledgeable to know drugs given to SC individuals.

For now, it can't be ascertained that Vee revealed to Erica that the medications are for SC treatment, heck, we don't we even what the medications are for.


We only know 2 facts:

1. Laycon told only Vee about his genotype.
2. Erica mentioned the medications but she didn't reveal if the medications are for SC or not. Remember also, Erica was in charge of all medications that week and even gave Vee her own that night.

Erica was wrong with all the bile she spat, but Laycon hid the knowledge of his genotype from her, only Vee knew. She just knew Laycon was taking medications but she's not a doctor to know what the drugs are for.

I just copied that and pasted, because I dont want to start typing long epistle. I like educating people one on one instead of going back and forth online. Take it to anywhere that SC is the disease and not the trait. No normal hemoglobin is S or C. For you to have 2 abnormal then its the disease be it mild or sever. A trait is you'll never have the disease but just a carrier, SC is not just a carrier but has the disease as well.


Like I said before try to understand it instead of just reading from the surface.

You're right, but @emboldened, in VERY RARE CASES, extremely rare cases, the carriers experience the symptoms of those with the disease but it's mild and easily contained/treated with the right medications.

Ok SC is not a normal genotype as C in itself is only slightly better than S, but not all SC suffer from the Hb disease associated with genotype SC.

From my knowledge in the medical line, all SC suffer from SCD but the severity is different. Some SC like Laycon rarely experience it (once in a very, very long period) judging by the Twitter inbox convo he had with @_thementalist, while some have mild symptoms which occurs after a couple of years, and the rest have much worse crisis. But with medications and proper check-up, they will live healthy lives.


I think Laycon is in the first group and therefore lives a normal healthy life with medications once in a while. What I don't get is the furore concerning the whole stuff. SC is not a death sentence. Most People with it live for long. SS is where the most problem is.

I don't see the reason why Laycon shouldn't be allowed to participate in the show coz he's SC. I don't see any strenuous exercise that might trigger the crisis. Is it the HoH challenge or Friday night arena games?


I also don't see how he's playing the pity card. He has hidden that knowledge from all HMs except Vee and only answered yesterday when he was asked the question. Are they expecting him to lie so he'd get to be dragged when someone that knows him personally reveals it on Twitter? Even if he wasn't asked and he mentions it, so what? It's not wrong as well. Genotype discussions are knowledgeable and meant to enlighten. No need to stigmatize those with abnormal genotypes same way we shouldn't stigmatize those with HIV.

Akwafinest is right. SC is a variant of SCD just like SS, but the symptoms are less severe than SS coz it has lesser anemia than SS. The red blood cells have shorter life span in SS than SC.

AS are SCT because they have one normal (A) gene and one abnormal gene (S). SC are both abnormal genes.
