Even though the sanction wasn't what I wanted and MBS wasn't really affected, it's still better than nothing that Trump did.

I remember some parents didn't even like their wards listening to their songs because of the vague lyrics. So their songs at the time weren't considered good enough for awards.. Now, Bob marley and Dianna ross were subsequently given a Lifetime achievement awards at the grammys..

Back to the post about tarantino, I gave that reply based on the idiot implying that Samuel jackson had most of his movie roles from one producer; that is tarantino. If that is the case like he implied, it may be the cause of lack of an oscar. It means the roles he's been getting by the recycled producer may not be showcasing his talent enough to earn his an oscars till now...I remember him complaining some years back about his boycott based on his race. Well Denzel got two oscars and he's black..So...

I wouldn't blame Samuel for the complaints because it's generally believed that blacks have been sidelined in the Oscars especially back in the day. It was like an open secret, he was just too bold to point the fingers. Everybody knows this. Even when Denzel won it in Training Day, it was widely regarded as a consolation price for being denied an Oscar award for his role as Malcom X. That was the magnum opus of his acting, but the organizers robbed him in broad daylight. So, I can't blame Samuel for his accusations but I get your point.

@emboldened, Samuel L Jackson has acted over 30 movies in his lifetime, only a handful of them were with Tarantino. If being recycled by Taratino in his movies may be the reason he hasn't gotten that plaque, what about other movies with other directors as well? There have been great actors that haven't and still won't win the Oscar till they quit acting, not because they weren't great in acting. A wonderful director not winning an Oscar doesn't depreciate his or her greatness. Some actors, great actors whose talents have been surreal, have been denied top awards, and it will never stop. It doesn't diminish their ingenuity, it's sometimes down to bad luck or wrong timing or being placed in very tough group.

Tupac, Notorious BIG, Brian McKnight, Queen, Guns N Roses and even Bob Marley etc., never got the Grammy, does it mean they are wack or that CardiB who has won a Grammy is a better rapper than Tupac or Biggie? Brazilian Ronaldo, one of the deadliest strikers of all-time, never won the UCL. Things like that happen sometimes.

I'm a big fan of Quentin, no dey disrespect the great man coz of LOVNN vs Elites beef. O wrong nau. Put some respeck on his name.

Look, I'm not a fan of Biden or Obama or Trump or the next American president. During the inaguaration ceremony of Biden, I was busy watching MTVBase on DStv. The only time I watch CNN, Aljazera, Channels or other news channels is when my friends who are into politics visits. This is to show you how apolitical I am.

The reason I blamed Trump was that I expected at least some sort of justice for Jamal, even if it meant the pawns taking the fall for it. Nothing was done and it hurts me. I also know that Obama wouldn't have done anything about it, but some of the speeches I heard from Trump left a bad taste in my mouth. It was like he was shielding MBS. WTF?

I have no prior beef against Trump, I've never taken interest in him, not even after he won. My hate for him started when I watched When You See Us. It had nothing to even do with his political moves. Then watching him say those nonsense in order not to provoke MBS made me wanna smash my phone. Maybe in coming days, my anger for Trump will fade away, but for now, I'm still pissed at the whole thing.

Bro, I'm not a politics guy, hence why I never followed the news when it first broke. I just read about Jamal's murder on the surface, I never delved deep. This documentary delved a deeper than whqt I knew, hence why I wanted to watch it. I'm glad I did but it broke my heart.


His blatant murder wasn't even what shattered me the most, it's the realization that the bastard crown prince of Saudi Arabia, Saudi Arabia itself, the murderous crew sent from Saudi on the orders of MBS to Alkhatani, the Saudi consulate chief, in short all those involved in the murder, all escaped sanctions or punishments. If there were any doubts that MBS was who masterminded this murder, the fact that none of the killer squad or planners were jailed proved CIA right.

To make matters worse, world leaders after their rantings, still attended the G20 meeting in Saudi Arabia. No single sanction whatsoever was given to Saudi. If it was Naija they'd have threatened us and sanctioned us. The less said about Trump, the better.

If you read the transcript of the messages and discussions that went down, and how they joked and laughed over their plans to kill and cut Jamal to pieces, your blood will boil. I wish I didn't watch the movie because it has left me sad since last night. I want to move on from the whole saga very soon.

The Dissident (2020). 10/10

A documentary on the brutal murder of Jamal Khashoggi. The documentary was unapologetic, gut-wrenching, raw, and devastating.

The movie broke my spirit and left me seething with rage. Made me hate Trump the more. All humans are indeed not equal. In this life, have money and power. It is very essential.

Monster Hunter (2020). 6/10


Not bad, not good either. The director or script writer didn't utilize the rich potentials the film had, to give us a great movie. Not that I'm surprised, though. Movie adaptations of video games have always been avearage at best and mostly sucked. They just can't seem to get it right.

I feel like the movie would have been better as a mini series to give it enough time for more character development; introduce a bit more monsters, more and better fight scenes and space out the story arc. It feels rushed. Fight scenes looked average or just okay.

I had a WTF moment when I was watching that post credit. Like, what exactly was the message they were trying to pass with nonsense? It'd probably make sense in part 3 because it doesn't make any iota of sense currently. They showed Jiang Ziya in the post credit scene of Ne Zha, but the post credit of Jiang Ziya with Ne Zha was dumb and confusing. That's exactly the problem with this part 2. The storyline was weak and all over the place.

Lets hope it gets explained in part 3 which to be honest, I'm not ecstatic to watch.

The most annoying part of it was I got fooled by the 83% rating RT gave it and thought it'd be as good as Ne Zha if not more. I prefer to watch an average movie knowing fully well it's average instead having high hopes only to be disappointed.

Decided to watch this animation when I found it was the sequel of Ne Zha which was quiet intresting. But like some sequels, failed to lived up to the level of its predecessor. Way below Ne Zha. Felt like a waste of my time.
