The police would first of all determine if there were conflicts within the marriage/relationship, and if those conflicts could have been the cause of the murder. Paternity of Liam could be a cause of conflict. Infidelity could be a cause of conflict. If a husband suddenly discovered Paternity fraud by his wife and the child he had loved and invested so much in financially and emotionally, it could lead to a fight that could lead to a murder/manslaughter. Police cannot rule out any lead to uncover what actually killed Mohbad.
Also, the Aloba family would like to know if truly Mohbad's son carries their DNA. It would fostered a better relationship between the boy and the Alobas.
