mytestimony: @Bestie101 can you imagine. At week 6 my doctor said I should come for a scan. Though his own is TVS. I hate travelling. Meanwhile the day I clocked 6 weeks symptoms started in full. So I told him I cant travel o. Sha as doctors are on strike I registered in a private clinic. To cut the long strong short when I went there the nurses asked how far gone and I said 6 weeks they said its just MS and I should endure and that it is too early for scan. Sha finally I saw the doctor he did a scan and said I should come back in a week. I was heart broken. Plus I wanted a TVS o cos I was used to it already. The next week I went and he saw a sac. He asked me to come much later o for confirmation. He was saying anything can happen. Huou can see one sac now and another much later. Or two in a sac. He was concerned because my MS was excessive o. Me too don type plenty. Lol

yes... at six weeks only a sac would be seen cos its too early to see a baby. but by 8 to 9 weeks you should be able to see a tiny blob in the sac.
if you are having non identical twins.. there would be two sacs.. meaning two placentas with a baby each when they grow older. if you are having identical twins, u will have one sac which is one placenta which means Ur babies will grow in the same placenta.

if you are having one sac then u have to chill well for the baby to grow. and you will need like two scans to confirm if you are carrying one or two, cos sometimes babies in the same sac hide or stay behind one another. so chill till you are about 8 or 9 weeks to see the babies.. by then they would be very visible

I was 5weeks 3 days when I found out. I took normal ultrasound scan.. I hate transvaginal and would never try it.. I was having serious cramps and when I got to the scan the doc told me "you are pregnant.. and it seems you are having twins" my eyes almost popped out of their sockets.. but then he showed me two sacs with no baby in it yet and asked me to come back by week seven. but I went back at week 8 and there they were in different placentas with nice heartbeats. but the doc told me they are non-identical that's why it was easier to find out about the twins. but that if they were identical they would find out at 8 to 10 weeks. cos they would be in the same sac and might be hiding behind one another.. he said it might even take longer to find as one of his patients twins were discovered when they tried to listen to the baby's heartbeat and heard double sounds.. like 4 months Preggy. but she took a scan just once at 6 weeks to confirm pregnancy and one sac was seen.

thanks everyone.. in my own case I'm really showing at 10 weeks at that's because I'm carrying twins *another yay* and that's why my MS was really bad. all my jeans, bras, tops, office shirts and skirts don't fit. I look like I'm five months already. my friends who knew when I got preggy are thinking I hid the pregs for a while before telling them. but I'm not telling anyone I'm having twins till I give birth.. *I hope my mil is not on this thread* I can imagine the looks on their faces when they hear "she gave birth to twins"

In my case I won't be buying maternity wears. they will waste. I'll just get Ankara and sow lots that I can re adjust after birthing.

I've been having slight feverish feeling that comes and go. No sore boobs until this morning at 8weeks. Abdomen is bloated in the evenings and feels hard/tight too. Smelling sensation is overly high. I get tired easily most days and I get hungry fast too. Apart from all these, I seem to be just fine, just that sometimes I'ld wish for a few more symptoms.

Pls share your thoughts Moms.

phemmy26: this is my first time commenting here in the health section ....my wife is about 8 weeks pregnant and she has been vomiting non stop...for the past for four weeks she has been in and out of the hospital....even avomine does not work. whatever she takes she vomits no matter how little....am really confused looking st her and realizing i cannot find a solution......she has tried everything eatable, cold water, pepper soup, every suggestion but still she vomits...and she has grown so lean

well.. I was like that last two weeks... I was admitted for a week and thru out that week I was given drip and Dint eat a thing.

but I got better afterwards. I still throw up. I do once a day.

Ah, my bad, sorry for the false alarm...

na.. it wasn't a false alarm.. it says anyone travelling with multiples after 28 weeks must carry a letter from her doctor stating that the woman is fit to fly and has no complications and it must be signed within 72 hours prior to flying.


I'm just scared the babies don't come earlier than expected.

I've checked the airlines. KLM, virgin Atlantic, Iberia, British airways, Lufthansa, and united...

all said they wont allow pregnancy of multiples after 32 weeks..

With twins some airlines would not let you fly past 28 weeks o! You might want to check the airline policies for exact no of weeks for twins.

IyaTwins84: I used gwinnett medical. My Bill is almost seven thousand. I had twins tho. And took epidural and circumcised my son at the hospital. If u avoid all these. Ur bill will be really low.

congrats on Ur twins. pls I would like to know, at how many weeks did u give birth? I'm carrying twins too and I heard twins usually come BTW 32 to 34 weeks. I don't know how true it is but I don't want to risk anything so I'll be travelling when I'm 31 weeks.

I'm 8 weeks today. been spitting like no other. I throw up once a day... or maybe twice.
I chewed ice cubes today and oh my... the feeling was great but I can't be chewing at work and let the whole thing be dripping on my books and papers. *heavy sigh*
I just can't wait for this to pass.

beedam: @ mytestimony, food I managed to eat? Hmmnnn! A great question. For breakfast,its rice and stew(pepper+vegetableoil+maggi+ salt) and lunch is amala and ewedu( just ewedu only). Later, crayfish was added to the rice stew. And lunch graduated to eba and okro( ila alasepo + crayfish). I was on that for like 2weeks and then graduated to yam and veg.oil and lunch changed to eba + okro+ stew+ titus fish. For like seven weeks,my life evolve round this food till 14th week that I stopped vomiting. I ve included,moinmoin, yam and egg,beans and plantain, amala and gbegiri, little turkey and chicken, apple.

I don't know whether to say I'm jealous of u.. at least u can eat something... I can't eat anything. I crave for certain food but when its placed in front of me I won't be able to eat it. my sense of smell is so high that I bet I can smell someones skin. I have a maid and the girl makes food for me while I stay in d room to avoid the smell. when its done, she allows it cool down before bringing it. but immediately she opens the door.... that's the end of the appetite.

FinanceFitness: My mum got her visa stating helping her daughter who intends to have her baby as purpose of visit. Though she's a pharmacist, I don't think being uneducated has any impact on her chance of being issued a visa. I've witnessed interviews with interpreters at the embassy who are more often than not granted visas.

The VO did ask for what my mum does and all, but I don't think it really mattered as I wrote as the sponsor.

So just package everything well and let her tell them from the entrance that she doesn't speak English. You can also follow her to the place on her interview date and kind of hand her over to someone who can help and all.

Please remember to include copies of your visa and passport data page. You can also include a cover letter with documents to support your ability to support her.

meanwhile before the pages got wiped, I read of someone's mother who was also an illiterate but she was granted visa.

she will be of great help... its just the come and go thing.
