Sports / FIFA Expands Women's World Cup To A 32-team Tournament by Bethel80: 10:59pm On Jul 31, 2019
World football governing body, FIFA, has announced that the FIFA Women’s World Cup will now have 32 teams participating in the 2023 edition of the tournament rather than the 24 that participated this year.

After careful deliberation, the FIFA Council unanimously approved the proposal to increase the field by eight teams, which Gianni Infantino said was in response to the “astounding success” of the 2019 edition.

Infantino said: “[The World Cup in France] made it very clear that this is the time to keep the momentum going and take concrete steps to foster the growth of women’s football. I am glad to see this proposal – the first of several – becoming a reality.”

The 2019 FIFA Women’s world Cup could go down in history as the most glamourous women’s world cup as viewers from around the world were glued to their TV sets to watch the ladies entertain the crowd. The level of football played and the fan turnout was enough to launch it’s popularity to the world. The exploits of the Netherlands and the invincible USA side was a grand climax of the global showpiece

As expected, the bidding process for the 2023 tournament has already started. Therefore, the FIFA Council decided not to wait until its next scheduled meeting in Shanghai in October to make the decision.

The timeline set forth in Wednesday’s announcement said existing bidders must reconfirm their interest in hosting, while any other eligible member associations can now express interest too.

Bid submissions are due by December, an evaluation report will be made by April 2020 and the appointment of the host or hosts is expected the following month.

“The expansion reaches far beyond the eight additional participating teams; it means that, from now on, dozens more member associations will organise their women’s football programme knowing they have a realistic chance of qualifying,” Infantino said.

“The FIFA Women’s World Cup is the most powerful trigger for the professionalisation of the women’s game, but it comes but once every four years and is only the top of a much greater pyramid.

“In the meantime, we all have a duty to do the groundwork and strengthen women’s football development infrastructure across all confederations.”

The nine parties interested in hosting are Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa and a joint bid from South Korea and North Korea

Sports / Success Makanjuola Gets Abuja Talking As He Shines In Flying Eagles Camp by Bethel80: 5:00pm On Jul 31, 2019
Flying Eagles attacker, Success Makanjuola, is the cynosure of all eyes in Abuja as the young lad has continued to impress the coaches and fans in training. The flying Eagles are preparing for the All African Games which comes up later in the year.

Makanjuola had a brilliant FIFA U-20 world cup performance in Poland, where he dazzled from the right and go fans talking. Success, who told reporters that his football idol is Lionel Messi, has patterned his football after the five-time Balon d’or winner as he loves playing from the right and cutting in to do damage to any defence.

His determination and right attitude towards training is not in doubt as he literarily pours his soul and body into the training sessions, to the admiration of all. He is pacy, skillful and does tricks with the ball.

Since arriving the Flying Eagles camp on Monday, success has showed a gleamer of what to expect from him when the All African Games begin.

The Water FC of Abuja Winger, who scored one goal in four games for the Flying Eagles in Poland hopes he could get a chance to play for the Super Eagles soon, since Coach Gernot Rohr has given young players like Samuel Chukwueze and Victor Osimhen the opportunity to showcase their talents in the star-studded Super Eagles team.

Sports / Moses Simon Academy Is A Dream Come True: Queen Of Kada City by Bethel80: 1:34pm On Jul 31, 2019
At the weekend, Super Eagles star, Moses Simon officially unveiled his academy. Dignitaries came from far and near. One of them is the Queen of Kada City FC. In this exclusive interview, she talks to Bellsnews.com about the academy and about Kada City FC.

Bellsnews: May we we know you?

QK: My name is Grace John, the Queen of Kada City FC, I’m popularly known as Queen Kada.

Bellsnews: Your thoughts on the occasion today

QK: I will say this is a long awaited dream for our Super Eagles player, Moses Simon, as well as the good people of Kaduna State. This is a vision and a dream that has finally come true as a way of giving back to the society. From what I saw at this occasion, I am happy that people from different communities, regardless of religion or ethnicity came together like a unified body to grace this occasion. It was like giving back to where he started; the grassroots. The massive turnout of fans here was impressive, more than the attendance at some league matches. Prominent people were here too, it is a good starting point for him.

Bellsnews: How did you become the Queen of Kada City?

QK: (smiles) It happened on April 30 2019. An official meeting was called by the club, invitations were sent out to people and I too, invited some people. I didn’t know there was a surprise package waiting for me. There, the CEO of the club, Hon. Ekene Abukakar Adams announced me as the Queen of Kada City FC and the female brand ambassador of the club.

Bellsnews: What could be the reason?

QK: The reason could be that I have been with the club since they were unveiled in February 2018. I was perhaps the only vibrant female supporter they had who gave hundred percent to the team. I followed them to away matches, updating people about proceedings too. My love for the round leather game was clearly evident; it was not my money but my time and presence.

Bellsnews: That is captivating. Could you please talk to us about your achievements so far?

QK: My achievement started on the day I was announced as the Queen of Kada City. I brought many ladies that day to the meeting and there, they pledged their unflinching support and allegiance to the club which was one of my priorities. One of my goals was to bring more ladies to be fans of the league and that goal has been achieved because today, we have many ladies that do not miss Kada City games. http://www.bellsnews.com/sports/nwpl-match-preview-kaduna-queens-vs-sunshine-queens/

Bellsnews: What other projects and programs have Kada City embarked on under your watch?

QK: We now have affiliation with music, sports, and other forms of entertainment. We have enlarged our scope to capture the hearts and minds of people through entertainment. Today, we have the largest and most organized fan base in Kaduna. I organized the Obaze soccer clinic. The CEO, Patrick Obaze, has given me the opportunity to show what I can do and we have been around four states and I will proudly say that it has been a success. It gave me the opportunity to work with top coaches and agents and see first hand, how football is run. I’m also involved in scouting programs. We also integrate music and sports into our programs where we sign Kaduna based artistes under Kada City because we love entertainment too. In this way, we spread our tentacles to get the youths active. I was involved in a tour which we call the ‘karawuta’ tour–a tour for one of our artistes. We have done tours in Kaduna on radio and TV, we are moving to Jos and Adamawa and at least 10 cities in the North.

Bellsnews: Apart from music and sports, are you also involved in other programs?

QK: Sure. We have a health walk exercise which is the ‘know your bp’ health walk where sports lovers and players will have the opportunity to test their blood pressure and they will be enlightened about blood pressure as a player or an individual. We also have an affiliation with the Miss Nigeria Football Queen, under the guidance of Hon. Tayo of the House of Representatives. There is also an ongoing project with the brand ambassador of the Finest Queens of Nigeria that will involve ladies and Queens in sports.

Bellsnews: What are your thoughts on grooming young players?

QK: When you talk about sports and music, grooming young talents is essential. That is when you begin to pattern their minds toward their goals and achievements. You have to groom them in the right way and pattern, using the right formation. It is one of the most important starting points, especially from the grassroots.

Bellsnews: What is your message to fans of Kada City FC of Kaduna?

QK: (ecstatic) I will keep this that we are ‘kadasified’ (laughs). It is our slang. We are the ‘kadasified’ kadasians,’ we have this slogan that we are the pride of Kaduna. To all Kada City fans, I am proud of you. Part of our motto is too keep up a good reputation; I urge you to keep up this good reputation. Live in peace and happiness, regardless of our differences. I am proud of you. We are achieving our social goals because today, we relate well with each other no matter where we come from; Igala, Fulani and so forth. Again, I am proud of you. God bless you and your families, I love you.

Bellsnews: Thank you for granting us this time.

QK: You are welcome

Sports / Etebo Replies Man Who Accused Him Of Abandoning His Roots by Bethel80: 7:20pm On Jul 30, 2019
ETEBO OGHENEKARO PETER FOUNDATION

Our attention has been drawn to a perceived sponsored video on Instagram credited to one G- Papa directed at Super Eagles Midfielder Etebo Oghenekaro.

G- Papa in the video claimed Etebo left his roots and forgot everything about Warri, immediately he made money, He also added that the Stoke City man has refused to give back to the club that raised him in Warri, Delta State.

Let me categorically state that the claims of G-Papa are not only false, but Malicious, destructive, defamatory, spiteful, venomous and evil.

There would have been no need for a response, but well meaning Nigerians who Etebo represents deserves to be abreast of some things, they also need to know that Etebo Oghenekaro Peter is a man who respects his roots and will never stop identifying and representing.

Firstly, as regards relocation, every individual has the fundamental right to move at any point in life, without certification from another individual, Etebo is not an exception, He is human.

Another scary thing Nigerians may not know is that one Mr. Joel Okolakpa, popularly known as Noja, the owner of Etebo’s youth team serially and consistently threatened to break Etebo’s legs if he steps into Warri, though Etebo reported to the Police and will not stop visiting Warri, whenever he is in the country, Noja has consistently acted violently due to his own selfish interest and sense of entitlements.

Noja, in 2016 slapped Mr Eddie Ogbemudia, Etebo’s long time ally and representative in Etebo’s family house, when they requested to get the N3m share from the N10M Noja collected from Hon. Kunle Soname for Etebo’s move to CD Fereinse in Portugal, as earlier agreed in Senegal during the Africa Under 23 Cup Of Nations, despite also collecting a Highlander Jeep, Noja refused to pay Etebo till date and won’t stop threatening, basically, Noja feels Etebo is obligated to pay him monthly salaries.

It may shock you to read that Etebo Oghenekaro regularly paid 20 percent of his wages at Warri Wolves to Noja, even after Noja had collected transfer fees from Warri Wolves.

Etebo’s move to Las Palmas in Spain and Stoke City has generated more than a N100m naira for Noja’s club, Lord Honour FC, so I’m shocked to hear that He isn’t buying them jerseys.

Etebo, until recently personally sponsored trips and pay match bonuses to players of the club, as a way of giving back to the roots that brought him up, I really would not know why such a man with a good heart will be a subject of ridicule and attack.

Etebo has prioritised giving back to society, due to the fact that he is also a product of the street, through Etebo Oghenekaro Peter Foundation, which is in Warri, Delta State, He has spent over N30m in his pet project for humanity.

Through this Foundation, Public Schools across Delta State have also benefitted from the benevolence of Etebo, in July 2018, Schools in Delta state were visited by a team from the foundation, led by Etebo himself to distribute school items, in November 2018, more than ten thousand text books and other items were also distributed to another 64 primary Schools in Delta State.

Do I need to also mention the team’s visit to Kids Orphanage homes,? Widows of fallen heroes were also reached out to, among other money consuming projects.

Unfortunately, G-Papa obviously was either fed with the wrong information, or decided to be ignorant or bitterly interested in pulling down a pillar of support, he also said that a friend of Etebo had his wedding and He refused to show up, categorically I am stating that the man in question is not even Etebo’s friend, he is actually the team manager of his grassroot club, Mr Omodiagbe Usiaho the relationship existing between them is strictly professional, still at that, Etebo financially sponsored His wedding from the beginning to the end, but couldn’t attend because the following day was his own traditional marriage.

Let me state categorically that the video will not in anyway stop him from touching lives in his own little way, Etebo Oghenekaro loves the street, loves Warri and Delta State as a whole, His parents still resides in Delta State till date, and they represent him daily in reaching out to those in need, Etebo’s close friends can also attest to the fact that He is always available to be of help whenever they call on him

He contributed his quota to the education of a little school girl, Success, who was sent away from school some months back, there are also some assistance he has rendered, just like every other golden hearted individuals, which is better without the media hype.

Few weeks ago, he invited his friends John Ogu and Victor Osimhen to Summer Camp With Etebo sponsored by SpringSoca Academy in Lagos where they played and trained with hundreds of kids.

Etebo Oghenekaro Peter has also confirmed that arrangements are in top gear to stage a grassroot football competition in Warri, Delta State, details will be made public as soon as possible.

Etebo Oghenekaro is hereby restating his resolve and commitment to always identify with his people, he also appreciates everyone who has supported and still supporting his football career one way or the other.

Pictures of Etebo and the giant strides of his organization are enclosed here

OPENING ADDRESS BY H.E MUHAMMADU BUHARI, PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA AT THE PRESIDENTIAL POLICY DIALOGUE SESSION HELD AT THE STATE HOUSE ON 24TH JULY 2019

Protocol:

I welcome you all to this Presidential Policy Dialogue Session. This administration came into office in 2015, at a period of economic recession following the steep drop in the global oil price and years of economic and financial mismanagement.

Through various monetary and fiscal measures, we restored economic growth, curbed inflation and shored up our external reserves. We have witnessed eight quarters of consistent marginal growth of the economy over the past two and a half years.
We have made progress in the agricultural sector especially in food production and processing through our Food Security and Anchors Borrowers Programmes, which provide concessionary credit facilities to farmers in crop production as well as large-scale investors in food processing and manufacturing.
To consolidate on these and other successes, we will continue to provide incentives that will facilitate investments and create jobs in key import substitution programmes.
In line with the “Next Level Strategy” of our party, the All Progressives Congress, which seeks to consolidate on our achievements over the past four years, this policy dialogue session has been conceived to:
a. Advise the government over the next four years to deliver on our promises in a manner that reflects true changes to the livelihood of the people.

b. Discuss and propose for Federal Government’s approval, key strategies and high impact initiatives to stimulate economic growth and development

This concerted effort requires the convergence of various stakeholders cutting across the private sector, developmental partners and industry experts to dialogue and forge a way forward.
We are committed to consolidating the successes of the first term and

Sports / Uzoho To Nigerians: "I Am Going Nowhere, I Will Make You Proud". by Bethel80: 8:01am On Jul 24, 2019
Super Eagles’ safe hands, Francis Uzoho, has sent a passionate and strong message to Nigerians after the team won bronze at the 2019 African Cup Nations; assuring them that he will go nowhere, rather that he will make them proud.

This is coming on the heels of ambivalent reactions to his bench role in the tournament. Uzoho was on loan at Apoel Nicosia of Cyprus prior the Cup of Nations but hardly saw game time, which was one of the reasons Coach Gernot Rohr opted for Daniel Akpeyi as first choice goalkeeper. However, Akpeyi, who played games for Kaizer Chiefs in South Africa did not cover himself in as many believe he was the villain o the piece in Mahrez’ last minute goal in the semi-final match against Algeria.

In line with his rotational policy, Coach Gernot Rohr gave Uzoho a chance to be in goal against Tunisia in the third-place game and Uzoho got Nigerians talking with his firm grip on the ball, aerial presence, ability to organize his defence and his presence in the box; this raised debates within the Nigerian football space.

Uzoho reacted to the reactions this way ” A little message to my Naija people, I’m not going anywhere, I’ll only get better”. He said many people have been sending him unprintable private messages but he responded ” tighten your seatbelts because it’s going to be a long ride. I assure you I will make you proud”.

To show that he is unfazed by the criticisms, he said ” I won’t count all your hurtful words now”.

Francis Uzoho is young, he will be an asset to the Super Eagles only if he gets playing time in Europe, thereby making the no.1 position in the Eagles his own. It is left to be seen if there will be a goalkeeper from the NPFL who can step into the national team and solve the goalkeeping problems in the team.

Governor Ikpeazu Rewards Chukwueze With Cash
By Bethel Kalu - July 22, 2019 3 0

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has urged young people who are blessed with talents to remain humble and hardworking because “pride is the virus that destroys talent”.

The Governor stated this today at Government House Umuahia when he received Super Eagles star, Samuel Chukwueze who paid him a courtesy visit to mark his return from the Africa Nations Cup where he and other teammates in the Super Eagles won the bronze medal.

While congratulating the young Abian for making himself, his family and the people of Abia State proud, Ikpeazu warned him to avoid being misled by a momentary feeling of triumph but focus on building a career that will last long and become successful.

According to the Governor, “You are a young man with prodigious talent. But you must know that talent can showcase you but you need to work very hard to remain at the top. Talent is not enough to keep you at the very top of your game for too long. You must work extra hard. You must take your trainings seriously. You must be humble. You must respect your coaches and take their instructions seriously. If training is by 6pm, get there at 5. This is no longer your days at Umuahia. This is professional soccer, a career that has the potential of making you a multi millionaire. You must take if very seriously. You have all it takes to become the best player in the world. I have watched you play and I mean what I am saying”.

Continuing, Governor Ikpeazu said “The easiest way to destroy your career is to become proud of what you think you have achieved. Once pride sets in, you are finished. I have seen players…good players who had the world at their feet but pride didn’t allow them excel. Players like Tarila Okoronwanta and Etim Esin. Remain humble. Remember where you are coming from, your poor parents. Stay safe in Europe. Avoid drugs and drinking”.

The Governor was not done yet. He said “One more area you must take very seriously is the area of managing your resources. Soccer brings a lot of money. You will earn millions in hard currency. How you manage the money will determine a lot in your life. Football career is like a flower that blossoms in the morning and withers in the evening. You cannot play football beyond a certain age. As a University teacher, I can remain at work till almost 70 but a footballer cannot. You must invest wisely in ventures that can guarantee you good returns. Employ good investment advisors. I have seen ex footballers who were very good and made lots of money but are begging for food today. I saw a former prominent footballer in Aba two weeks ago and all he could boast of was a bicycle. I felt very sad indeed. Invest your money wisely my son and you will be happy for it. On behalf of the government and people of Abia State, we thank you for making us proud and welcome you back from Egypt and pray the good Lord to grant you a successful and injury free soccer career”.

Samuel Chukwueze then presented the Governor with his Super Eagles jersey, the bronze medal he won with the Super Eagles and the prize he

Religion / Re: Daddy Freeze To MFM: Praying For Your Enemies To Die Is Anti-christ Doctrine by Bethel80: 4:36pm On Jul 18, 2019
We are now under the law of Christ. At Romans 12:17-21, the Bible said that true Christians should return evil for evil to NO ONE. That same Scripture also says that we should not avenge ourselves because God has said "Vengeance is mine, I will repay". So, when you are firing your enemies to die, you have usurped God and has taken matters into your own hands.

That scripture also read: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him something to drink. Do not let yourselves be conquered by the evil, BUT KEEP CONQUERING EVIL WITH THE GOOD.

So for those that quote "suffer not the witch to live," Jesus has something to say at Mathew 5:43-47 "You heard that it was said 'love your neighbor and hate your enemies, however I say to you : Continue to love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may prove to be sons of your father in heaven, who makes his sun shine on the righteous and the wicked. For if you love those loving you, what reward do you have? Are not the tax collectors doing the same thing? Read also Luke 6: 27, 28. Even Stephen, a true follower of Christ prayed that God not charge his opposers at Acts 7:60.

Now to the issue of principalities and powers. Your prayers CANNOT kill the devil and his demons. God has reserved a time to destroy them, so your prayers for them to die is null and void. Jesus did not destroy wicked spirits, he simply CAST THEM OUT. Remember, one of the wicked spirits asked: "are you killing us before OUR TIME?"

The Bible's mention of principalities and powers can be found at Ephesians 6:10-13. But wait! Did the Bible say that you can kill them with prayer? Never! The Bible says that we should wear our complete suit of armor so that they cannot conquer us. We are not fighting them, they are fighting us and we should be ready against them with Faith, the good news, Truth, righteousness, helmet of salvation, God's word, staying spiritually awake and prayer.

At 1Peter 2:21, the Bible says that Christ gave us A MODEL to follow CLOSELY. What the Bible teaches is clear on this and anyone going contrary to this is the ANTI-CHRIST

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on media and publicity, Garba Shehu says that the “Presidency has noted public concerns on the unfortunate attack leading to the death of daughter of the Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti.

The President has already issued a statement expressing his heartfelt condolences to the family of Mrs Funke Olakunri and followed up with a telephone call.

The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has in addition, paid a visit to the grieving family in Akure, Ondo State.

Her death is a tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

It is incumbent on all leaders across the country to consider their language and its potential consequences.

Insecurity is an issue that Nigeria must face together as one nation – united.

Times of tragedy like these are not the time for politics. It reveals only disrespect for the departed and her family. And we hope that those who stand in positions of influence recognise and understand this.”

So many Nigerians have expressed their thoughts on the tragic incident, while some have pointed out the insecurity of the day as a consequence of the inability of the government to secure lives and property. Hence, this release from the Presidency

Sports / 3 Vital Lessons From Super Eagles' Loss To Algeria by Bethel80: 1:08pm On Jul 15, 2019
By Neydu Wordsmith Onuoha

The Super Eagles are out of AFCON 2019 and it is time to look at what went wrong and the way forward. First, let me say this- I am very passionate about football, I am equally very passionate about the Super Eagles, in fact, much more passionate about the Nigerian selection than I am of Chelsea FC, the football club that I support.

Having crashed out, we can look at ourselves and tell ourselves the obvious truth.

The Super Eagles need a playmaker:
The Super Eagles are in dire need of a playmaker, we have to go look for that creative player who can orchestrate play if this team must be a world beater at the World Cup in Qatar 2022. Iwobi hasn’t proven to be one yet, maybe, be can grow his game with time, but even at that, he needs competition, so whomever will be Nigeria’s coach needs to find such a player.

2. The Super Eagles have no goalkeepers:

Akpeyi and Ezenwa are no goalkeepers as far as I am concerned. Akpeyi does not even inspire confidence and he can’t improve because he is already old, this should be his last outing with Nigeria. Ezenwa either isn’t good. Dude couldn’t even be 1st choice at local clubside Enyimba and plays for second-tier Nigerian side Katsina United, he should stay far away from the Nigerian national team just like Akpeyi. An argument can be made for Uzoho that he is younger than the other two goalkeepers, but he needs competition, if Nigeria must become a world beater, we need a better than Uzoho and whomever will be our coach going forward must go around the country and the world looking for good goalkeepers, there is Maduka Okoye in Germany, give him a call up and let’s start from there.

3. We must look beyond Gernot Rohr:

Gernot Rohr has tried so much in bringing back discipline, organisation and calm to the Nigerian national team and has given his best. We have seen the best of Herr Rohr but is it

Politics / Atiku Advocates Community Policing by Bethel80: 9:23am On Jul 15, 2019
Former Vice President, Atiku Abukakar has advocated community policing in order to boost security of lives and property in the country. He said this on his Facebook page in his usual way of commenting on topical issues in the polity.

“When I was a child, Nigeria had little crime. We did not depend on police from Lagos or Kaduna. We had a community police system. Nigeria must return to community policing, adapted to suit the culture and history of each of the 6 zones, in order to stem the tide of insecurity”.

He went further to subtly chide the government of the day for not taking ‘decisive action’. “Our response to the killings of our citizens cannot be just talk, talk, and talk. We must take decisive action to protect the lives of all citizens, not just prominent ones. There has to be change, because if we continue with the way things are, we will get the same results. -AA”

Sports / Is The Super Eagles Dark Green Jersey A Curse? by Bethel80: 7:56am On Jul 15, 2019
I learned they wore green instead of their green and white amulet, as if they were the old “Green Eagles” as it was in the late 70s to early 80s era of Christian “Chairman” Chukwu, Felix Owolabi a.k.a Owoblow, Segun Odegbami, nicknamed “Mathematical” by the pundit, late Earnest Okonkwo, arguably the greatest soccer aficionado ever to have commented on radio.

I say no, it could be history and something of a jinx, perhaps.

The truth is, Algeria know how to beat the eagles whether green or white at the AFCON just like the eagles know how to beat them too during World Cup qualifiers… It was in 1990 that I would first sense this as Rabah Madjer-led attack lashed eagles 5 goals to 1 at the opening game. In fact, the lone goal by the eagles was scored by a certain Emmanuel Okocha, elder brother to Austin Jay-Jay Okocha!

At the final of the same tournament Algeria again defeated Nigeria albeit this time by a lone goal which was more honourable than the previous 5-1 trouncing. So we waited for a rematch and got our own pound of flesh when in a 1994 World Cup qualification series game, we beat them by 4 goals to 1, thanks to Rasheed Yekini-led attack! Also in that game, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha scored his first career international goal, the game being his second cap after his debut against Ivoriens. Okocha’s goal was a spectacular freekick and just like his brother, he had scored against the Algerians!

Politics / RUGA: South East Governors Unanimously Reject It. by Bethel80: 7:55pm On Jul 09, 2019
RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH EAST GOVERNOR’S FORUM ON THE VEXED ISSUES OF THE SUSPENDED RUGA PROGRAMME AND IMPLEMENTATION OF NATIONAL LIVESTOCK
TRANSFORMATION PLAN (NLTP). 9TH JULY, 2019.

The attention of the South East Governors’ Forum has been drawn to
the various attacks and campaign of calumny by our people alleging
that Governors of South East have secretly donated land for RUGA
Programme being promoted by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and
the National Livestock Transformation Plan, (NLTP) as approved by the
National Economic Council, NEC.
The fact remains that no South East Governor has donated any land
or intends to donate any land for any of the two programmes for lack
of enough land in the entire South East.
Governors of South East appreciate the fact that we have good and
law abiding Herdsmen who have been living with us; some of them were
even born here. We have been living in peace with them until recently
when we started witnessing invasion of our land, kidnapping of our
people, killing of defenseless natives and destruction of their farmlands. These herdsmen that have been living peacefully with us together with the natives have insisted that these evil as now experienced in our land are the handiwork of herdsmen moving from
other states into South East and most of the time, these herdsmen are
not even Nigerians.
Resolution of South East Governors.http://www.bellsnews.com/entertainment/don-jazzy-holds-bbnaija-online-polls-as-mercy-leads/
a. That we will not chase away Herdsmen who are peaceful and have
been living peacefully with us in the South East.

b. That we agreed with Herdsmen living peacefully with us and the
natives that movement of cows into the South East should be by road
transportation using trailers to their specific cow markets. No more
allowing foreign Herdsmen to move their cattle by foot as this is the
point of conflict with the farmers and natives.

c. That we do not have any land to donate for RUGA or NLTP
programmes but we are committed to selling grasses and by-product of
our farms to support NLTP for states that have keyed into the
programme.
