​Roman Abramovich​ has reportedly bought a new football club and an official announcement will be made on Friday, according to stunning reports. 


​The 55-year-old lost control of Chelsea as a result of his alleged ties with Vladimir Putin, who launched Russia's invasion of Ukraine. 

Four bidders remain in the auction to acquire the reigning and defending Champions League winners.

Amid the sale of the Premier League giants, it appears the Russian billionaire has landed himself another football club. 

According to Turkish media via Twitter user @ragipsoylu, Abramovich​ has purchased Goztepe FC. 

The report adds that an announcement is expected on Friday.

Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK government earlier this month and all his assets have been frozen, with Chelsea operating under a special licence.

The 55-year-old is looking to sell Chelsea and a number of bidders are interested in the reigning European and world champions.

According to Fanatik per The Sun, Abramovich is negotiating to buy Super Lig outfit Goztepe.

Goztepe are 18th in the league and two points behind Altay.

It indicates the billionaire is willing to stay in football after owning Chelsea for 19 years.

He bought the Blues from Ken Bates in 2003 and has transformed them into a dominant force in England and worldwide.

Chelsea are currently third in the Premier League and advanced to the FA Cup semi-finals on Saturday after defeating Middlesbrough.

​Roman Abramovich has reportedly suffered symptoms of suspected poisoning, with skin peeling off his face. 

​The outgoing Chelsea owner and Ukrainian negotiators were targetted after peace talks with Russia in Kyiv. 

Abramovich and two senior members of the group involved in peace talks fell ill and are said to have developed symptoms.​

According to the Wall Street Journal, symptoms included red eyes and peeling skin on their faces and hands. 

Further reports claim the Russian billionaire also 'lost his sight for several hours' and was treated at a hospital in Turkey.  

​The suspected attack is thought to be blamed on hard-liners who want to sabotage talks to end the war in Ukraine.

But it's understood that Abramovich and the Ukrainian negotiators' lives are not in danger and their health has since improved. ​

Analysts at Bellingcat state the victims experienced symptoms consistent with poisoning with chemical weapons.

President Volodymyr Zelensky​ has also met with Abramovich in recent weeks, but reports say he was unaffected.

The Russian oligarch handed Putin a handwritten note from Zelensky ​just days ago.

However, Putin responded to potential terms of a peace agreement in abrupt fashion as he reportedly told Abramovich: "Tell him I will thrash them."

Chelsea are feeling the full extent of the sanctions placed on owner Roman Abramovich after it scuppered a move for Chicago Fire goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Champions League holders were keen on the 17-year-old and had been in direct contact with his representatives.

Chelsea were looking to pay somewhere between €6 million and €7 million for Slonina and wanted to loan him back to Fire for a year to continue his development in the MLS.

But despite a deal appearing close and on the cusp of being completed, negotiations have broken down when they were at an advanced stage.

After the UK government placed sanctions on Chelsea having frozen Abramovich's assets due to his alleged links to Russian president Vladimir Putin, the Blues are unable to sign any new players.

It means Slonina, who signed for Fire at the age of 14 and is the youngest signing in their history, has been denied a dream move for the time being.

Chelsea are rapidly looking for new ownership and a number of potential candidates have been linked with a potential takeover.

But as it stands the West London club are operating under a special licence which means they cannot even sell players or offer new contracts to current first-team players.

However, in a welcome change for Thomas Tuchel's men, the licence has been amended so that fans can attend fixtures - specifically the upcoming Champions League quarter-final and FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

Roman Abramovich wants Chelsea to remain successful after he's sold the club, and that's why he's been very particular about who to sell to.



Abramovich has decided to sell Chelsea, after 19 years as the club's owner, in the wake of Russia invading Ukraine, with one MP calling for the club to be seized from him.

The team's fans have thrown their support behind the billionaire who has bought all the success to West London in the past two decades, including some chanting his name on Saturday during the minute's applause in solidarity with Ukraine.

Abramovich is obviously trying to repay the love the fans have for him by selling to the right person, or people, to take the team forward after he's left.

According to the Mirror, amongst the criteria for any prospective buyer is that the new owner will continue the policy to invest in the playing squad.

Abramovich has spent a huge amount on buying players since becoming owner, and it has been the driving force behind their five Premier League title and two Champions League wins in that time.

Even in the past year he has spent around £106 million, although most of that was just on Romelu Lukaku, with the rest the loan price for Saul Niguez.

He has occasionally pulled back on his spending but in recent years it has been back at its highest, as they attempt to keep pace with Manchester City and Liverpool.

The 55-year-old was also originally going be building a new stadium for the Blues, but ended that project when his UK citizenship application was denied in 2018.

Already it has been reported that the Saratov born owner was wary of selling to any one that would be considered 'politically controversial.'

With the Premier League also looking into adding human rights record to their 'fit and proper persons test', it is thought to rule out any buyers from Saudi Arabia or China.

Whilst Chelsea fans have been supporting Abramovich, former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan claimed he was 'one of the worst things to happen to English football.'

Zelensky: Peace talks only option to end Ukraine-Russia war

President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday that Ukraine had no option but to negotiate with Russia to end fighting but that he and Russian President Vladimir Putin might not personally hold talks.

Zelensky was speaking after accusing Russian troops of carrying out extra-judicial killings in the town of Bucha west of the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv.

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said the reports of civilian killings in Bucha were "fakes" aimed at discrediting Russia. Moscow said it would present "empirical evidence" to a meeting of the United Nations Security Council on Tuesday proving its forces were not involved..

"All of us, including myself, will perceive even the possibility of negotiations as a challenge," Zelensky said in an interview with Ukrainian journalists broadcast on national television.

"The challenge is internal, first of all, one's own, human challenge. Then, when you pull yourself together, and you have to do it, I think that we have no other choice."

He said the events in Bucha were unforgivable but Ukraine and Russia should take the difficult option of pursuing talks, and signalled that Moscow should recognise what its troops were alleged to have done.

The Russian news agency Interfax cited a deputy Russian foreign minister as saying talks were continuing via video link.

Asked whether he and Putin would hold direct talks, Zelensky said it was possible this would not happen but gave no details.

Hungary's nationalist Prime Minister Viktor Orban has won a fourth term by a landslide in the country's general elections, near-complete results show.
His right-wing Fidesz party had 53.1% of votes with 98% of the count complete, preliminary results show.
The opposition alliance led by Peter Marki-Zay was far behind with 35%.
In his victory speech, Mr Orban criticised Brussels bureaucrats and Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky, calling them "opponents".
"This was a huge victory," Mr Orban told jubilant supporters in the capital Budapest, late on Sunday.

"They can see it from the Moon, but certainly from Brussels as well."

Hungary shares a border with Ukraine and has taken in more than half a million refugees so far. Mr Orban insists that by helping the people, but refusing to supply weapons to Ukraine, he is keeping Hungary out of the war.
Mr Zelensky has repeatedly criticised Mr Orban's policies.
When officially confirmed by Hungary's electoral commission, the victory will be Fidesz's fourth successive win since 2010.
The National Election Office said Fidesz would have 135 seats, a two-thirds majority, and the opposition alliance would have 56 seats - again, based on preliminary results.
Mr Orban, 58, has had a fraught relationship with the EU, which considers that Fidesz has undermined Hungary's democratic institutions.

The opposition complained that Fidesz had isolated Hungary from the European mainstream, and from consensual democracy, fairness and decency.

Uk energy crises has been ongoing for so many yrs. Getting worst as the Yr goes by. Already, as at the end of last yr, we already know energy price will increase. It got worst cos of covid and brexit.
Covid grounded so many economies of the world especially developed economies. Uk just got double ration cos of their exit from EU. As for Russian war, even if your country isn't participating directly in the war it will still have its ugly effect on your economy. That's the consequences of war. Whether uk, usa, Senegal, Philippine etc, all will be affected especially when one of the major player is a world power.
