KABUL, Afghanistan — Khalid Hanafi, the Taliban’s vice and virtue minister, at a gathering in Kabul called non-Muslims as “worse than four-legged animals,” raising renewed concern for the safety and dignity of Afghanistan’s religious minorities under Taliban rule.
In his speech urging ideological training for public employees, Hanafi said that while non-Muslims might perform administrative duties, their beliefs render them morally inferior.
“Disbelievers carry out administrative work — polytheists, Jews, Christians, Hindus, Sikhs — but they are like four-legged animals,” Hanafi said. “They hold beliefs that go against Sharia and the Quran.”
He added that civil servants under Taliban authority must be educated in “Taliban ideology” and Islamic jurisprudence.
The remarks have drawn sharp criticism from rights advocates and members of minority communities, many of whom have already fled Afghanistan since the Taliban’s return to power in August 2021. Once small but visible, the country’s Hindu and Sikh populations have dwindled dramatically, with most now living in exile, particularly in India and Canada.
The United Nations and numerous international human rights organizations have repeatedly urged the Taliban to protect the rights of all Afghan citizens, regardless of religion or ethnicity. Taliban officials have routinely insisted that minorities are safe under their rule, though incidents of targeted rhetoric, restrictions, and forced displacement have continued to surface.
Hanafi’s comments follow years of steady deterioration in religious freedom in Afghanistan. Rights monitors say such language not only endangers remaining minority groups but also undermines the Taliban’s efforts to gain diplomatic recognition and access to foreign aid.
There has been no public response from senior Taliban leadership addressing Hanafi’s statements.
Everyday we witness the "beauty" of islam through its adherents.
A muslim woman in eastern Uganda this month killed a Christian couple and accidentally took her own daughter’s life with the same poison she used on those who had led her (daughter) to Christ, sources said.
Doreen Nairuba died from eating poisoned food prepared by Hanifa Hamiyat in Nabiganda town, Butaleja District, an area neighbor said. Nairuba was six months pregnant.
Hamiyat’s 18-year-old daughter, Marriam Kapisa, died the same day after unknowingly eating the food prepared for Nairuba and Nairuba’s husband, Jackson Wampula, who died from the poisoning the next day, residents said.
Nairuba had been sharing her Christian faith with Kapisa, who had finished high school exams and was awaiting results to determine entry to college. Hamiyat was angry that the couple had brought her daughter to a church service, an area source said.
A muslim neighbor who had seen the Christian couple leaving for church with Kapisa and returning with her that afternoon informed Hamiyat, who asked him to find out from her daughter where she had been, the area source said.
At about 5:30 p.m. the neighbor intercepted Kapisa, and she told him she had attended the church service. He and Kapisa returned to her home and told her mother.
“The mother was very angry with the girl, but since it was Ramadan she did not want to cause a lot of alarm, hence she kept quiet,” said the area source, who had made a brief visit to the family that day.
During Ramadan it is common for area Muslims to share food with other families in the evening to break the daily fast, and at 7 p.m. Hamiyat prepared a meal and sent Kapisa to share it with the Christian couple, the source said.
“The daughter didn’t know that her mother had put some poison in the food,” he said. “When the daughter reached Doreen’s home, the three participated in sharing of the food, and immediately [afterward], she left.”
At home, Kapisa complained of stomach pain and was soon vomiting and wailing, the source said.
“The mother asked what could be the problem, and why had she delayed? The girl answered that she shared in eating the food with Doreen’s family, and she was in deep pain. Upon hearing that, Hamiyat shouted in a loud voice, “Allah Karim [Generous Allah], I have killed myself,” said the source, who visited the family upon hearing their distress.
Kapisa was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she died, he said.
After about an hour, Nairuba and her husband started suffering stomach pain and diarrhea and made an emergency call to another neighbor.
“When I arrived at the house the two were in bad state, and I took them to a nearby clinic where they were given first aid before they were referred to the main hospital,” said the neighbor, whose name is also withheld for security reasons.
Nairuba died before reaching the hospital, and Wampula died the next day at the hospital, the neighbor said.
In tests carried out on samples of remaining food, doctors found it contained a poisonous drug that caused the death of the couple and Kapisa, said the neighbor.
Local leaders detained and questioned Hamiyat, and she confessed to having poisoned the food, the neighbor said.
“I never intended to kill my daughter, but my plan was to kill the neighbors because of taking my daughter to church during this holy month of Ramadan,” she said, according to the source. “Our imam had assured us that when you kill a kafir [infidel], Allah rewards one with a Jannah [paradise] called Firdausi, so I wanted to get that Jannah.”
Hamiyat was in police custody at this writing, with a hearing scheduled for Wednesday (April 2).
As islam faces declining followers, islamic leaders are becoming increasingly desperate to retain the cult by cracking down on apostates. For example, Saudi Arabia has executed individuals accused of leaving islam. The iranian government has also been arresting and detaining alleged apostates, often holding them in solitary confinment without trial.
Somayeh Rajabi, a Christian convert from northern Babol, has been detained by IRGC intelligence agents since February 6, according to Mohabat News.
The news outlet reported that over 20 intelligence agents raided a Christian gathering in Gatab, near Babol, on February 6.
During the raid, agents confiscated Bibles, musical instruments, and communication devices.
Attendees were forced to provide their personal information and phone passwords.
According to the report, agents forcibly removed and destroyed cross necklaces worn by attendees and denied medical care to those injured during the incident.
Rajabi contacted her family a day after her arrest, informing them that she had been transferred to a prison in Sari.
The arrest comes amid increasing pressure on Christians in Iran.
In an interview, a woman from Afghanistan expressed her deep concerns about the deteriorating conditions for women in her country, stating that they are being treated worse than animals.
Indonesia rejects the notion of temporarily hosting Palestinian residents whose homes were destroyed during the Gaza conflict.
A few days ago, NBC reported that US President Donald Trump is considering the temporary relocation of residents from Gaza to aid in reconstruction.
According to the report, incoming Trump administration officials stated that Indonesia is among the countries considered for temporary relocation.
Indonesian government officials stated, 'Any attempt to uproot or deport Gaza residents is entirely unacceptable.'
During the war, and unlike the reception of Syrian refugees by neighboring Arab and Islamic countries, all Arab nations refused to temporarily host Palestinian refugees. The Palestinian Authority also refrained from offering to host refugees from Gaza in Palestinian cities under its full control in the West Bank.
There is no end to the attack on religious minorities in Bangladesh which started after the Muhammad Yunus-led interim govt took charge following the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government. In such a distressing incident coinciding with Christmas celebrations, 17 houses belonging to the Tripura Christian community were set ablaze in Bandarban’s Lama Upazila by muslims.
As per reports, the attack occurred in the early hours of December 25, while residents were away attending prayers in a neighbouring village, as there is no church in their village. There was nobody in the village when the attack took place.
The affected village, New Betachhara Para in the Tongjhiri area is located in Ward No. 8 of Sarai Union of Lama Upazila. The villages had gone to nearby Tonggyajhiri village on Wednesday night to participate in Christmas celebrations. The muslims took advantage of their absence to torch the homes, resulting in the complete destruction of 17 out of 19 houses in the village.
Gungamani Tripura, one of the victims, expressed his devastation, “Our houses have been completely burned to ashes. Could not save anything.”
Notably, the victim families belonging to the Tripura community have been residing in the Tongjhiri Tripura Para area for several generations. But they were forcibly removed from their homes a few years ago when some people claimed that the area had been leased out to the wife of a police officer and planted trees there. However, after the fall of the Awami League government, they came back to the village and started living in makeshift houses.
At around 12:30 am on Wednesday, the villagers attending Christmas payers in the neighbouring village saw a fire blazing in their village and rushed to their village. But by the time they reached, 17 of the 19 houses were completely gutted. All houses in the village were made of bamboo and straw, therefore the houses burnt quickly.
Notably, the villagers have been accused of land grabbing by people who had earlier removed them they resettled in the village. Md Enamul Haque Bhuiyan, inspector (investigation) of Lama Police Station, said there are complaints and counter-complaints of land grabbing in the remote area after August 5, when the Sheikh Hasina govt fell.
The Taliban's police command in Takhar has appointed a committee to investigate the killing of Gul Bibi, a 55-year-old woman who was recently severely beaten to death in Darqad District.
According to sources, Gul Bibi, a 55-year-old woman, was taken to a hospital after a clash with Taliban members over the ownership of a plot of land in Darqad, Takhar province, and died four days later in the hospital.
Mubin Safi, a spokesman for the Taliban's police command in Takhar, said that the results of the committee’s findings would be presented in the future.
According to sources, Gul Bibi, a 55-year-old woman, was taken to a hospital after a clash with Taliban members over the ownership of a plot of land in Darqad, Takhar province, and died four days later in the hospital.
Local sources said that Omar Farooq, the Taliban's police commander in Darqad, had beaten the woman and a number of other women.
Gul Bibi's relatives have sent documents saying that these lands have belonged to the woman's family for more than 60 years and even their ownership of these lands has been approved by a high-ranking Taliban delegation.
Sources also report that the Taliban police chief also beat up Gul Bibi's husband.
Sources confirmed that Gul Bibi's family filed an official complaint against the Taliban's police commander in Darqad, demanding that the incident be investigated.
According to sources, although the Taliban's district governor has issued an order to investigate the incident, the Taliban's police chief in Darqad Takhar has torn up the request.
According to information received by Afghanistan International, the Taliban police chief also told the investigation team that Gul Bibi died due to a blood pressure disease and not as a result of physical assault.
Arab Muslims in Sudan’s River Nile state drove 34 displaced Christians from their homes, sources said.
The Muslim residents of the El Matamah area of Al-Makniya told the Christians of Nuba Mountains ancestry who had fled military conflict in Omdurman, near Khartoum, that they did not want Christians or black people in the area, according to a report on the website of the Sudan’s People Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N).
An area church leader confirmed the SPLM-N account to Morning Star News. Though the Muslim residents initially accused the Christians of stealing livestock and violating Islamic codes, a police officer told the Christians that the residents’ objected to their presence essentially on religious grounds, according to the SPLM-N website. It added that authorities later apprehended the cattle thieves, who were not Christians.
Initially about 30 residents showed up at the home of one of the displaced Christian families last month and said they must vacate their houses and leave the area, according to the SPLM-N. Later more than 50 Muslims issued the same demand, and when the Christians refused to leave, some days later an even larger crowd of neighbors arrived and demanded they leave within three days.
“We don’t want you here at all, and we are giving you three days to vacate the house,” one of the residents told them, according to the SPLM-N. “We are not concerned with the law, and we do everything with our own hands…I am a racist, and I don’t want any black person here.”
The displaced persons asked for islamic police help but received no response, a Christian identified only as Y.M.T. told the SPLM-N. Officers told the Christians that no one had filed any complaints against them. Later the Muslim residents asked police for an expulsion order, which was denied, according to Y.M.T.
When the Muslim residents then went to the public prosecutor seeking an eviction order from the area, the office denied their request due to lack of evidence of any charges, Y.M.T. told the SPLM-N.
The Christians’ appeals for help to other local officials fell on deaf ears.
Muslim resident Barai Khader reportedly demanded that one of the Christians, Darius Yasser Hussein, remove a cross and convert to Islam, according to SPLM-N.
“One of the officers, who asked not to reveal his name to the family, said that the problem was basically religious and had nothing to do with the aforementioned charges,” one of the Christians told SPLM-N.
The Muslim residents arrived at the Christians’ homes and forcibly expelled them from Al-Makniya, according to the SPLM-N.
“While we were waiting and following up on the legal procedures, the people of the neighborhood came to us on Saturday, and expelled and deported us from the Makniya area without protection from any official body in the locality, despite their knowledge of that,” the Christian told the SPLM-N. “We were forcibly displaced for the second time, as half of us went to Shendi [River Nile state], while the other half preferred to return to Omdurman to avoid repeating religious, ethnic and regional discrimination.”
He called on human rights organizations and humanitarian workers to assist them.
“We are currently in a very bad humanitarian situation, as we have lost our shelter, and we have children, women and the elderly, and we have lost our livelihoods that help us provide for our basic daily needs,” the Christian told the SPLM-N.
In Omdurman, across the Nile River from Khartoum, fighting and shelling between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) continues.
Fighting in Sudan between the paramilitary RSF and the SAF broke out in April 2023. The conflict between the RSF and the SAF, which had shared military rule in Sudan following an October 2021 coup, has terrorized civilians in Khartoum and elsewhere, displacing 11.2 million people within and beyond Sudan’ borders, according to the U.N. Refugee Agency.
The SAF’s Gen. Abdelfattah al-Burhan and his then-vice president, RSF leader Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, were in power when civilian parties in March 2023 agreed on a framework to re-establish a democratic transition the next month, but disagreements over military structure torpedoed final approval.
Burhan sought to place the RSF – a paramilitary outfit with roots in the Janja.weed militias that had helped former strongman Omar al-Bashir put down rebels – under the regular army’s control within two years, while Dagolo would accept integration within nothing fewer than 10 years. The conflict burst into military fighting on April 15, 2023.
Both military leaders have Islamist backgrounds while trying to portray themselves to the international community as pro-democracy advocates of religious freedom.
Christian sites have been targeted since the conflict began.
Sudan's Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and allies have committed "staggering" levels of sexual abuse, raping civilians and abducting some women as sex slaves during the more than 18-month war, a U.N. mission said on Tuesday.
Victims have ranged between eight and 75 years, said the U.N. fact-finding mission's report, with most sexual violence committed by the RSF and allied Arab militia in an attempt to terrorize and punish people for perceived links to enemies.
"The sheer scale of sexual violence we have documented in Sudan is staggering," said mission chair Mohamed Chande Othman in a statement accompanying an 80-page report based on interviews with victims, families and witnesses.
The report echoed investigations by Reuters and rights groups into widespread sexual abuse in the conflict.
The RSF, which is fighting Sudan's army, did not immediately respond to a request for comment. It has previously said it would investigate allegations and bring perpetrators to justice.
The paramilitary RSF has roots in so-called supporter of APC militias, which helped the military crush a rebellion in Sudan's western Darfur region two decades ago.
In the current conflict, the RSF has seized control of large parts of Sudan including in West Darfur where it is accused of carrying out ethnic killings against the Masalit people with the help of Arab militias.
The U.N. mission said racist slurs against non-Arabs in parts of West Darfur state were widely used during sexual attacks, indicating ethnicity targeting.
Forced impregnation
One victim from El Geneina in West Darfur said her rapist told her at gunpoint: "We will make you, the Masalit girls, give birth to Arab children," the report said.
In another case, a West Darfur woman was held captive for over eight months by RSF guards and impregnated by her main captor during repeated rapes, it added.
In four other incidents, women were taken from the street before being beaten and raped then released or abandoned unconscious on the street. Perpetrators mostly wore either RSF uniforms or scarves concealing their faces, victims said.
The report said it had documented a smaller number of sexual violence cases involving the Sudanese army, with more investigation needed. It also said it had credible reports that both warring parties had recruited child soldiers.
Last month, the mission found that both the army and RSF had committed major abuses like torture and arbitrary arrests.
Sudan's war has created one of the world's worst humanitarian disasters, with thousands killed, more than 11 million uprooted, widespread hunger and involvement of foreign powers.
Islamist villagers in eastern Uganda burned a pastor and his family to death after he led three Muslims to faith in Christ, the pastor’s brother said.
Weere Mukisa, his 25-year-old wife Annet Namugaya and their two daughters, 7-year-old Judith Banirye and 4-year-old Sylvia Bamukisa, died when the assailants set fire to their home shortly before 3 a.m., said the church leader’s brother, James Tusubira. Mukisa was 30.
The tragic attack took place in Kibale village, Mpumiro Parish, Bulange Sub-County, Namutumba District. Mukisa had led the Muslims to Christ in September.
“When the three young Muslims converted to Christ, my brother started receiving threatening messages that he should stop any contact with the three young converts, and that the act committed is against teaching of Islam to not join the religion of infidels,” Tusubira told Morning Star News.
Tusubira said he saw flame and smoke coming from the family’s home at 2:48 a.m.
“We rushed to the scene of the incident and found the house torched and the five bodies burned beyond recognition,” he said. “Many people started arriving till the break of the day. Plastic bottles of petrol were found outside the house.”
The assailants were from a neighboring village and were known to the Mukisa, Tusubira said.
The killings have been reported to police in Kibale. Officers were hunting for the suspects, who have absconded, Tusubira said.
Lebanese Political Analyst Saleh El Machnouk: Hizbullah Leaders Must Be Using Their Own Captagon, Because They Are Hallucinating; How Can They Claim To Have Great Achievements When They Cannot Even Appoint A Secretary-General
Source: Al-Mashhad TV (UAE) Lebanese political analyst Saleh El Machnouk said in an interview with Al-Mashhad TV (UAE) that after watching Naim Qassem speak, it seems that Hizbullah leaders are using the Captagon they produce for their own consumption, because they are hallucinating. He said that Hizbullah cannot even appoint a replacement secretary-general, so how can they claim that their “achievements are great” or that Israel is collapsing?
El Machnouk said that the purpose of Hizbullah's weapons is not to provide a secure and prosperous life to the Lebanese people, rather they must live in fear of bombings so that Hizbullah’s weapons could survive.
Saleh El Machnouk: "All over the world, and throughout history, the occupation has generated resistance. Only in Lebanon, it is the resistance that generates the occupation.
"For 20 years, the slogan has been that Hizbullah constitutes a unique force of deterrence that protects the Lebanese. In ten days, this slogan has collapsed, and today they are trying to replace it with another slogan that says that the Lebanese should protect Hizbullah. The purpose of Hizbullah's weapons is not to provide secure and prosperous life to the Lebanese. Rather, the Lebanese should live in fear of bombings so that Hizbullah's weapons survive.
"Two days ago, I heard Sheikh Naim Qassem speaking. For years, we have believed that Hizbullah's leaders were producing Captagon for export. Turns out they have been producing Captagon for self use..."
"There has never been a greater hallucination in the history of Lebanon – including in the Lebanese nightlife, cabarets, and whatever that the Hizbullah people always criticize... Not a single person in the history of Lebanon's nightlife has hallucinated like Sheikh Naim Qassem."
Interviewer: "These are serious accusations..."
El Machnouk: "He said that they will cause an earthquake... These are realistic statements for which the Lebanese people are paying the price, in blood, displacement, ruin, and destruction, because someone is following ideological hallucinations and myths... How can anyone with any sense possibly say that 'our achievements are great'? You are incapable of electing a secretary-general, and you are telling me that 'Israel is collapsing'?"
Islamic terrorists killed at least 150 people, including many Christians, in northeastern Burkina Faso, revealing their increasing brutality and determination to spread terror in a country where insurgents now control over half of the territory.
...a new terrorist attack took place in the town of Manni in the East Region of Burkina Faso. Various local sources told Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) that the death toll exceeded 150. The town is home to a large Catholic community, and many Christians, as well as non-Christians, were killed in the massacre.
The sources told ACN that the terrorists first cut mobile phone networks before attacking the local market, where many people had gathered after Mass. They then opened fire indiscriminately, looted shops and set fire to several buildings, burning some victims alive. The same sources reported that the next day, the perpetrators returned to attack medical staff and kill the many wounded in the city’s hospital. A new incursion took place on Tuesday when the terrorists again invaded the town of Manni, massacring all the men they could find.
Many of the victims were residents from nearby villages who had sought refuge in Manni after being driven out of their homes by terrorists. “The situation is beyond horrific,” one of the local sources told ACN. “But even if the terrorists burned everything, they didn’t burn our faith!”
In a message addressed to priests, consecrated persons and laity, Bishop Pierre Claver Malgo, of the Diocese of Fada N’Gourma, described the attack as “barbaric”, and expressed his “sincere compassion for all the bereaved families” insisting that “any threat to the dignity of man and to his life must touch the very heart of the Church”. The bishop also stressed the importance of not losing heart and keeping hope alive “for a better tomorrow”.
The attack in Manni comes amid a continuing deterioration of the security situation in Burkina Faso, where armed extremist groups have intensified their offensives, targeting both security forces and unarmed civilians. For several years in a row, Burkina Faso has endured the highest level of extremist violence in the entire Sahel region. At the end of August, the country experienced the worst terrorist attack in its history in Barsalogho. Since then, estimates of those who were killed in the attack have risen to a least 400 dead, according to information gathered by the foundation. Burkina Faso now has more than two million displaced people.
Source: LBC (Lebanon) In an interview with LBC TV (Lebanon), Lebanese MP Nadim Gemayel of the Kataeb Party stated that Hizbullah is reaping what it has sown. He emphasized that the conflict is not between Lebanon and Israel, but rather between Hizbullah and Israel. Gemayel declared that there would be no ceasefire until Hizbullah surrenders its weapons, arguing that those weapons have failed to protect any Lebanese, Shiites, or even Hassan Nasrallah. He pointed out that no one forced Hizbullah to join the war in Syria, train the Houthis in Yemen, or initiate the war with Israel on October 8. Gemayel concluded, "We will not solve the crisis for Hizbullah, in order to solve its crisis today, Hizbullah needs to hand over its weapons."
Nadim Gemayel: "Unfortunately, Hizbullah is reaping today what it has been sowing for the past 20 years. Hizbullah has threatened us, killed us, and has tried all the time to push Lebanese society as a whole. Hizbullah would not let anyone speak freely, and would not let the state get back on its feet.
"Where is the balance of terror? Did it allow them to defend Lebanon? Did they prevent Lebanon from being destroyed like we are seeing today? Did the balance of terror protect even the Shiites themselves? Their weapons have not defended any Lebanese, any Shiite, and not even Hassan Nasrallah himself. Where is Hassan Nasrallah today? Did these weapons, this balance of terror, manage to protect him? Where is he today?
"There will be no ceasefire before Hizbullah hands over its weapons. It is very clear from all the analyses and from what we saw in Gaza, that these people [Israel] are not kidding. We have seen what they are doing. Did anyone imagine, before September 26, that they were ready to kill Hassan Nasrallah? Surely not. These people are not playing games. It is clear from the destruction that they are sowing. They did not play games in Gaza. . .
"It is not between Lebanon and Israel. It is between Hizbullah and Israel. Lebanon had nothing to do with that operation, but the Lebanese people are paying the price.
"I am drawing a distinction between Lebanon and Hizbullah, because it was Hizbullah that decided... Nobody forced Hizbullah to fight in Syria, nobody forced it to go and train [the Houthis] in Yemen, and nobody forced it to start a war [with Israel] on October 8. Who forced them? They got themselves into this crisis, and they need to bear the responsibility. They should not think, not even for a second, to come to us and ask us to bear the responsibility. We will not solve the crisis for Hizbullah. In order to solve its crisis today, Hizbullah needs to hand over its weapons."

Kuwaiti Islamic Scholar And Muslim Brotherhood Leader Dr. Tareq Al-Suwaidan: The Prophet Muhammad Promised Us That We Will Rule The Whole World; I Met Hamas Leader Haniyeh Last Week, He Said Hamas Lost Less Than 20% If Its Power, Is Prepared For A Long Battle That Will Destroy Israeli Society; The Palestinians Are Fighting The Greatest Empires Of The World [Russia and United States of America], Who Support Israel
Kuwaiti Islamic scholar and Muslim Brotherhood leader Dr. Tareq Al-Suwaidan said at a January 21, 2024 that the Islamic movement is restricted in countries such as Egypt and the UAE, yet enjoys total freedom of movement in Kuwait, Qatar, and Iraq. He said that he recently visited the Islamic movement in Iraq, where they will be holding meetings that will be protected by the Iraqi.
In addition, Dr. Al-Suwaidan said Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh told him in a recent meeting that he and the leaders of Hamas do not view the war in Gaza as the liberation of Palestine, but rather as part of the battle between Islam and major global geopolitical forces such as the U.S., Europe, and Russia, and he said that Allah has promised the Muslims that they will emerge victorious over these major powers and will rule the whole world.
Tareq Al-Suwaidan, who openly promotes jihad, calling to "let the mujahideen do their work," urges Muslims to plan to "wipe out Israel," and in 2013 was fired from his position as director of the Saudi Al-Risala TV after announcing online that he is a Muslim Brotherhood leader, currently resides in Turkey.
He spent several years as an Islamic leader in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was an unindicted co-conspirator in the case against Hamas terrorism funding by the Holy Land Foundation, and has been banned from entering several countries, including the United States and Belgium, for antisemitism and supporting terrorism.
It is worth noting that in July 2024, several Western Islamic Scholars are scheduled to appear as speakers and facilitators the Prophetic Strategy Summit in Turkey. Among the scholars are Omar Suleiman, Haytham Al-Haddad, Sami Hamdi, and Yasir Qadhi. In October 2022, Yasir Qadhi interviewed Al-Suwaidan upon the death of Muslim Brotherhood leader Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradhawi. A special guest at the summit will be Wadah Khanfar, the President of Al Sharq Forum and former Director General of Al-Jazeera Network (Qatar).
Tareq Al-Suwaidan: "Today, the Islamic movement is oppressed in some countries. Not all countries, in some countries. For example, Egypt or [the United Arab] Emirates. It is clearly oppressed, they are in prisons. While they are clearly free to move with no restrictions in Kuwait, in Qatar, in Iraq. The Islamic movement in Iraq, which was crushed by Saddam Hussein, is now... I visited them lately... They would have their meetings, and the official police would protect their meetings.

"You asked me to talk a little bit about some inside information. Of course, there are things I can say and there are things I cannot say. So I was last week with the brother Ismail Haniyeh. Ismail Haniyeh is the leader of Hamas. With all of this bombing, Hamas lost less than 20% of its power. So, it can be a very long battle, and that will destroy the Israeli society.
[...]
[b]"I myself and the leaders of Hamas, are not looking at this battle as the liberation of Palestine. The liberation of Palestine cannot be done by a small group. And they are not fighting Israel. They are fighting the major geopolitical forces of the world. They are fighting Israel with all of its support from the greatest empires in the world. Russia has supported Israel for a long period of time. Now America and the Europeans are supporting [it] clearly. So history is repeating itself. Yes, we are a small force within these major players. They cannot remember history. Allah promised us victory over these major powers.

Naseem Nazir, wife of Nazir Masih, an elderly Christian who died after being brutally beaten by an angry muslim mob, died on Friday after suffering a heart attack.
An International Christian Concern (ICC) staffer who had been helping Masih’s family said that Naseem had struggled to overcome the trauma of seeing her beloved husband being brutally beaten [and murdered].
“She couldn’t get that out of her mind,” the staffer said.
Naseem had recently asked the ICC staffer to pray for her and her family. As he did, she became emotional.
“She was just wailing when she was talking,” the staffer recalled of the prayer time.
Naseem’s funeral took place late Friday. Officers hired to protect the family had told them to make the service as brief as possible for security reasons.
The mob attacked Masih on May 25 after claims that he had burned pages from a Quran circulated throughout the Mujahid colony in Gillwala, a predominantly Christian community in Sargodha. Masih suffered severe head trauma during the attack. He died nine days later at the hospital.
“He was a well-known, respectable, and industrious person in his area,” the ICC staffer said. “He was running a small shoe-making factory and cosmetic shop. His family is a well-to-do family.”
Pakistan’s anti-blasphemy laws, which are often weaponized against Christians, prohibit the desecration of the Quran. Those who violate the laws are often killed.
A mob killed a man, reportedly a Muslim, in the Madyan area of Khyber Pakhutunkhwa’s Swat district Thursday night after he allegedly desecrated a Quran. Police had taken the man to the police station; however, a mob attacked the station, took him away, beat him, and set him on fire.
On the morning of the attack that killed Masih, leaders in local mosques called for area Muslims to gather at Masih’s house. Hundreds of people soon started attacking Masih’s home and shoe factory. The mob then attacked him, beating him with bricks and logs. Members of the mob also attacked police as they attempted to make arrests. The mob also attacked the ambulance as it transported Masih to the hospital.
Naseem and other members of her family have also been fearful this last week, the ICC staffer said, after dozens of members of the mob were released from custody on bail just before Eid al-Adha, a holiday that Muslims observed on June 17. Several of the family’s neighbors were among the suspects who were released.
The ICC staffer added that roughly 20 Masih’s extended family members — half of whom lived with Masih — are now fearful whenever they go to the local market or use a public restroom. They fear they are being followed and could be attacked at any moment.

"O you who believe [in islam]! Choose not your fathers nor your brethren for friends if they disbelief [in islam] rather than [have] faith. Whoso of you take them for friends, such are wrong-doers" -Quran 9:23
A muslim in eastern Uganda is suspected of killing his Christian mother last week by putting pesticide in her food for refusing to leave her Christian faith, a relative said.
Sulaina Nabirye, 50, of Kamuli, Kamuli District, put her faith in Christ on Feb. 10, and since then her 31-year-old son had tried to persuade her to return to Islam, said the relative, whose name is withheld for security reasons.
“During the month of Ramadan, she complained of her son pressuring her to stop attending church and revert back to Islam, since he was studying to become an imam at Bugembe Mosque,” the relative said. “When she refused to convert back to Islam, he stopped visiting her at her house and threatened to chase or even kill her.”
Nabirye’s fears led the source to make frequent visits, praying with and encouraging her to withstand the threats.
“She had peace and joy and was encouraged by the sermons from the pastor,” the source said.
The threats from Nabirye’s son, Arajabu Mukiibi, intensified during Ramadan, and the source was present when Mukiibi visited on April 9 to tell Nabirye that his wife would prepare dinner for them.
“At 7 p.m. he came with food, which he gave to us, and he left,” the relative said. “I was praying and fasting, so I did not eat the food. Shortly after eating the food, Sulaina started vomiting, and then followed diarrhea. I tried what I could, but things were worsening, I called a nearby clinic officer who came with medication. He tried to put her on drip, but all was in vain.”
Nabirye died that night at 2 a.m., April 10. The relative’s bitter weeping and wailing at Nabirye’s death alerted neighbors, who arrived to learn of the tragedy.
The source had the food tested at a medical clinic and discovered that it contained Methanol, a toxic alcohol used as an industrial solvent and pesticide.
“Her son did not come to help his mum,” the relative said. “He and his wife who were living close by did not show up. This made me conclude that he is the one who planned the poisoning.”
Area people have condemned Mukiibi for allegedly taking his mother’s life for becoming Christian and have vowed to take revenge, the source said. Relatives planned to file a report with police.
Nabirye, whose husband died in an auto accident in 2019, is also survived by a second adult child.
Nabirye attended church services every Sunday after putting her faith in Christ, the source said.
“On Feb. 9, I shared with her the Christian faith, and the following day we attended an open-air preaching,” the relative said. “After the preaching, she requested the pastor to prayer for her salvation. She was prayed for and received Jesus as Lord and Savior.”
