The face-off between oil marketers and the Federal Government came to an end on Monday as the marketers resolved to immediately mobilize to ensure restoration of normal supply of petroleum products throughout the country “in six hours”. This was sequel to a meeting between the Senate Committee on Petroleum (Upstream and downstream) headed by Senator Magnus Abe and Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOWAN) with the Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Joseph Dawha and major stakeholders in the oil and gas sector. Speaking after the meeting, Chairman of MOMAN, Obafemi Olawore, said its members, consisting Oando, Conoil, Forte Oil, MRS, Total and Mobil Oil agreed to commence lifting and distribution of fuel immediately from the stock supplied by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). Meanwhile, the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) have suspended their industrial actions. The whole world was surprised when Goodluck Jonathan conceded defeat even before the announcement of the final result. Almost all his supporter refer his as their hero. Oh yes, he is an hero for accepting defeat. My question now is why is their hero so wicked that he do not even consider those who voted for him nor common masses? A fuel that normally goes for N97 is now N1000 per litre, if you can't afford it, go and die. Just imagine, light off for good 5 days and Jonathan can sleep at night. Friday is here, we can't wait for badluck to return back to his village. Jonathan, your name would forever remember for all the attrocities, looting and killings. God will judge you. |

According to the eyewitness, it was a terrible experience this morning at my farm located at Odoyanta, Ijebu Ode. I just finished feeding the fish, so on my way back I heard a loud noise and the noise was coming from the father of the boy working for me although the man speaks in Igbo language. I had to ask the boy working for me to translate what his father said. He told me that his father said there are ritualist in the bush that they’ve taken someone from a fish farm nearby. That we should come out on time. It happened that the ritualist tried to kidnap a fish farmer. They have succeeded in beating and chaining him like a dog. It was while the incident was going on that someone in the bush saw them and quickly ran back to town to alert guys in the community. They were able to arrest two out of the three ritualists and the last one escape. The woman who is iyalode in the town was behind the operation Here are the pictures: pic 1 and 2 are the kidnappers and their charm, pic 3 is the iyalode of the town and pic 4 is the guy they were trying to kidnap and use for rituals. The All Progressives Congress has said President Goodluck Jonathan is handing over a nation in deep crisis, even as his administration continues to contrive more crises without making any effort to solve any of them. In a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, the party, , appealed to Nigerians not to lose hope, despite the daunting challenges they are currently facing in this atmosphere of contrived chaos. It said help is on the way. “In a few days’ time, President Jonathan will hand over to President-elect Muhammadu Buhari,” the APC said. Never in the history of our country has any government handed over to another a more distressed country: No electricity, no fuel, workers are on strike, billions are owed to state and federal workers, 60 billion dollars are owed in national debt and the economy is virtually grounded. “Today, Nigerians are roaming the streets, jerry cans in hand, searching for everything from kerosene to fuel to diesel to power their homes, keep their vehicles on the road and keep their businesses going. They are paying as much as 300 Naira per litre for fuel, if at all they can get it. Yet their government is not saying a word about the situation.” APC said while the Jonathan Administration has “arrogantly” told Nigerians that it remains in office and in power till May 29th, all it has been doing is sacking people and making new appointments as if it had been deprived of the opportunity to do so in the past six years. “They are not interested in how to end the fuel scarcity that has paralysed the socio-economic lives of Nigerians,” the APC said. “They are not interested in how to raise electricity production from its unprecedentedly-low level of 1,327 megawatts. They are not doing anything to end the strike by blue and white collar oil workers, or to stop the impending one. “They say they are in office till May 29th, but they do not care how workers in 18 states, who are owed a total of 300 billion Naira in salaries under their watch, or federal workers who are owed N400 billion, will be paid. Yet they are running a budget of N1trillion deficit. “They have deliberately stopped meeting their obligations to oil marketers, which is now around 200 billion Naira, hence no one is lifting petroleum products anymore. If the current energy crisis is not solved soonest, the telecommunications sector could even be grounded in a matter of days as service providers will have neither electricity nor fuel to power their base stations. Of course the aviation sector has already been left comatose by the fuel crisis. The whole scenario reeks of sabotage.” APC said before PDP and Jonathan Administration’s spin doctors distort its message, it is important to let Nigerians know that the party (APC) is not engaging in lamentations but simply keeping the citizenry informed of the situation on the ground, with just five days to handover date. ‘If we thought the nation was being well managed and there was no problem, we would not have embarked on a campaign of change,” the party said. “While we are ready, willing and able to begin to address the mammoth challenges facing us as a nation as soon as we assume office at the centre in a few days’ time, we will not hesitate for a second to keep Nigerians informed of how we have been brought to this sorry pass, with a view to avoiding such a tragic turn in the future.” It expressed sadness that the nation has been on auto pilot for the past several weeks, as the outgoing administration has shown neither the capacity nor the willingness to resolve any of the crises it has contrived and foisted on the nation. ”This is the most vivid manifestation of the old saying that literally translates to a departing office holder defecating on the chair he is vacating,” APC said. On Wednesday, Vice President-elect, Yemi Osinbajo, said that the Nigerian economy has reached its worst moment in history. He said Nigeria’s local and foreign debts now stand at $60 billion. These statements came after a two-day Policy Dialogue on the Agenda for Change organised by the Policy, Research and Strategy Directorate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council. Osinbajo talked extensively on the state of Nigeria’s weak economy citing that worker salaries across the country have not been paid for months because of a lack of resources. The federal government’s inability to pay wages to workers, coupled with the extreme poverty that is prevalent in a large portion of Nigerian society caused him paint such a gloom picture of Nigeria’s economic state. He said, “The figures of extreme poverty in our society- 110 million by current estimates- makes it clear that our biggest national problem is the extreme poverty of the majority. Thus, no analysis is required to conclude that dealing with poverty and its implications is a priority. We are concerned that our economy is currently in perhaps its worst moment in history. “Local and international debt stands at US$60 billion. Our Debt servicing bill for 2015 is N953.6 billion, 21 per cent of our Budget. On account of severely dwindled resources, over two-thirds of the states in Nigeria owe salaries. Federal institutions are not in much better shape. Today, the nation borrows to fund recurrent expenditure. “This is also against the backdrop of a highly unequal society in which, by some reckoning, the largest chunk of the benefits of our national wealth accrues to a small percentage of our population. Our manifesto offered a vision of shared prosperity and socio-economic inclusion for all Nigerians that leaves no one behind in the pursuit of a prosperous and fulfilling life. Osinbajo also said that an essential aspect of dealing with the country’s economy is upholding a dialogue that continually exemplifies a consultative approach to policy making. He also said that the new administration will focus keenly on education. Citing that methods of teaching should be a big focus of the change agenda. He expressed that the administration would make training teachers a priority in the ongoing effort increase the quality of Nigerian education. Osinbajo believes that the new Buhari led administration will focus much more on the improvement of the lives of the electorate. “Our approach focused on the electorate as being worthy of serious and sincere engagement and sought to bring clarity to the issues at stake. Osinbajo and President-Elect Muhammadu Buhari will be taking the helm of the federal government on May 29th after the inauguration in Abuja. Tension has heightened in Enugu State over strong feelers that Governor Sullivan Chime has moved against the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Eugene Odo. Chime ordered an audit of the accounts of the House as alleged reprisal for the rejection of his recent actions by the House, including the concession of the water corporation to a private company, attempt to obtain N11 billion loan, building of shopping mall near the House of Assembly complex and allocation of part of International Conference Centre (ICC) to private developers. Similarly, the Governor also forwarded a letter to the House through the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Anthony Ani (SAN), warning the lawmakers that they have no power to freeze the account of any government agency. The letter was prompted by a resolution passed by the House last week, freezing the accounts of Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB) in all commercial banks pending the conclusion of investigation into allegations of financial recklessness against the Chairman, Miss Nneka Onuora. A principal officer of the House, who pleaded anonymity, confirmed to our correspondent on Thursday that the Auditor General has commenced the audit of the income and expenditure of the House. Our source said they also gathered that reliable sources that the Governor allegedlydoled out N2 million each to six lawmakers, including a suspended lawmaker, who he believes are still loyal to him. The latest development has heightened tension in the State since last Tuesday, when the lawmakers passed a resolution, asking the Accountant General of the State, Pascal Okolie, to furnish the House with the information in writing on or before Monday, April 26 on the financial standing of the State since January including Internally Generated Revenue. The lawmakers had earlier grilled the Accountant General over the non release of their overhead for the month of March. The House had a week earlier issued the Commissioner of Police with a warrant to arrest the Attorney General AG and bring him to the House, but he voluntarily appeared in the House and apologised for his inability to honour three earlier invitations to appear. Responding to questions from the lawmakers during an executive session, Okolie noted that release of funds has been going on well in Enugu State until the country came under cash squeeze caused by fall in oil prices. “Enugu is not spared. Many states have not been able to pay salaries, but we have managed to be paying salaries. We have cash flow problems. We have tried in overhead. We have paid January and February to this House. Half of March was made available. We hope to pay the balance. My appeal is that this House be patient” he said. *** Ban On AIT: Stay Within Your Defined Area Of Responsibility, Buhari Tells Overzealous Aides Nigeria’s president-elect Muhammadu Buhari, has instructed all his staff, including the personnel attached directly to him, to steer clear of all dealings with the media, and leave all media affairs to his official media team. In a statement in Abuja on Wednesday, April 29, by the Directorate of Media and Publicity of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Mr. Buhari aligned himself with the pronouncement of his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC which had earlier expressed disagreement with the temporary barring of the African Independent Television (AIT) from covering his activities. “I would like everyone to henceforth stay within his/her defined area of responsibility”, Mr. Buhari said. The president-elect added that his media team should be left to continue to deal with their media colleagues in the best possible way. According to the statement, Mr. Buhari was neither consulted nor informed about the AIT barring, and only became aware of the matter after the public uproar it generated. “The time of CHANGE has come,” he said, “and we must avoid making the same mistakes that the outgoing government made”. Indonesia disregarded last-minute appeals and executed 8 drug traffickers including 4 Nigerians. Pictures of the dead being buried and details from their last minutes before being executed have been released to the media. According to the pastors who were with them in their final hours, Andrew Chan, Myuran Sukumaran and the other 6 death row inmates declined to wear blindfolds and were singing as they were shot by a 13-member firing squad in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The 8 men chose to face their executioners and spent their last minutes on earth praising God and singing songs which included ‘Amazing Grace’. On Wednesday morning, Pastor Christie Buckingham – who read Chan and Sukumaran their last rites – said the 8 death row inmates walked out onto the killing field singing religious songs in the moments before they were executed. Pastor Buckingham said the men conducted themselves with ‘dignity and strength until the end’. Another pastor, Karina de Vega, said it was a ‘beautiful experience’. The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Alhaji Ali Olanusi, who is reported to have been impeached, has warned that there is a subsisting court order that the status quo be maintained in respect of that office. In effect, the Deputy Governor insists he has not legally been removed from office. According to his lawyer, Oluwole Kayode, the court order was granted last Thursday, April 23rd, and he emphasized that it touches and affects the office and the holder. “Another action in respect of the same office and the impeachment process is pending in court and will come up on the 7th of May 2015,” he said, noting that that the hurried nature of the impeachment process is suspect. “I think public office holders and people who are put in position to defend the constitution must be law abiding,” Mr. Oluwole said. “In the light of this disobedience to court order and the impunity displayed in the course of the impeachment proceedings, the Deputy Governor is on solid ground.” Source: http://saharareporters.com/2015/04/27/%E2%80%98impeached%E2%80%99-ondo-state-deputy-governor-says-he-still-office-cites-court-order |

Zulu King Godwill Zwelithi’s utterances on March 23rd launched the Zenophobic attacks in South Africa and he had refused to apologize, even after finding out that his people have maimed, killed and destroyed businesses belonging to black foreigners. He’s still insisting that foreigners should go back to their countries but tried to save face by saying attacking the foreigners is not how to chase them away. He wants the government to do it legally. During a speech last month, Zwelithini called for the deportation of foreign nationals living in the country, saying it was unacceptable locals were being made to compete with people from other countries for the few economic opportunities they had available. King Zwelithi said “foreigners must pack their bags and go home”. His three major complaints and why he wanted foreigners to go were; 1. SA traders in the townships said they could not compete with the prices that foreign-owned businesses were selling their products. 2; foreigners involved in crime. 3. Lack of respect shown by foreigners to locals. Addressing Pongolo community members during a moral regeneration event, Zwelithini accused government of failing to protect locals from the “influx of foreign nationals”. He said; “Most government leaders do not want to speak out on this matter because they are scared of losing votes. As the king of the Zulu nation, I cannot tolerate a situation where we are being led by leaders with no views whatsoever. “We are requesting those who come from outside to please go back to their countries. The fact that there were countries that played a role in the country’s struggle for liberation should not be used as an excuse to create a situation where foreigners are allowed to inconvenience locals. I know you were in their countries during the struggle for liberation. But the fact of the matter is you did not set up businesses in their countries.” His comments were widely condemned with the SA DA describing it “highly irresponsible’ ‘Particularly given the recent spate of xenophobic attacks in South Africa, he should do the right thing – retract and apologise,” He didn’t and his spokesman went on record to say the King had nothing to apologize for, that he meant every word he said. “I think the people who’re complaining are misinterpreting his speech. He didn’t say foreigners must be attacked or harassed. The king was talking about foreigners who are here illegally. Some are involved in serious crimes like drug and human trafficking. We don’t need such people in our country so the king is right.” His spokesman said After the killing spread across different cities, the king has relented a little and is planning to speak to his people this Monday in an effort to quell the attacks. He’s expected to address the public directly and clarify his statement and ask his people to stop the violence which his words started… Source: http://www.hotgistng.com/2015/04/meet-the-south-african-king-whose-remarks-launched-the-xenophobic-attacks/

** How political opponents used Juju to force me out of Government House — Gov. Ajimobi Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State on Thursday explained why he had to relocate from the Government House to his private residence in Ibadan, the state capital. He said he had to flee his official residence after opponents directed evil traditional sacrifices (known as ebo in Yoruba) at him. Mr. Ajimobi made the disclosure in Ibadan during the eighth-day Fidau prayer for the late Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Baosari Haruna. He said ahead of the just-concluded elections, some desperate politicians did their best to send him out of Government House at all cost through many devilish means. “They first came to you Alfas to give them prayers that will send me out of office, but my own Alfa prayers superseded that of these desperate politicians. “Every morning, I always go out on exercise. If you know the Government House very well, it has many interchange, popularly called `orita’, I see all kinds of sacrifices (ebo) placed in all these junctions.’’ “Worried by these developments, some of you my Alfas here advised me to move out of the Government House to render their evil plots useless,’’he said. Mr. Ajimobi said his reason for fleeing his official quarters is contrary to tales spread by opponents that he packed out of Government House because he was afraid of imminent defeat as no governor had ever been reelected for second term in the history of the state. The governor said he had to leave “to thwart the evil plots of these desperate politicians’’. The governor, who is still basking in the euphoria of breaking the jinx of being the first governor to be elected for second term in the state, thanked all spiritual leaders in Oyo for their prayers for him and the state. “It is only Allah who shamed my detractors through your prayers for me and that of the prayers I made in Saudi Arabia where I had the privilege of entering inside the Kaabah,’’ he said. The elated governor asked the Islamic scholars to select 10 of them that would join him to Saudi Arabia soon to perform the lesser Hajj ( Umrah) to thank Allah for His mercies on him and the state. He thanked the people of Oyo State for once again reposing their confidence on him by voting him in as governor of the state for another four years. Mr. Ajimobi promised not to let the people of Oyo state down, saying he would reciprocate their kind gesture by surpassing the landmark achievements he recorded in his first term. The governor had on Saturday emerged winner of the gubernatorial election in the state, breaking the second term jinx in the state. He defeated former governors Rasheed Ladoja of Accord Party and Alao Akala of the Labour Party; as well as a former senate leader, Teslim Folarin, of the Peoples Democratic Party and the Social Democratic Party’s Seyi Makinde. Mr. Ajimobi’s party, the All Progressives Congress, polled 327,310, Accord- 254,520, Labour Party – 184,111, the Peoples Democratic Party – 79,019 and the Social Democratic Party- 54,740. With his victory, Mr. Ajimobi became the first Oyo State governor to be re-elected for a second term. Former governors, Bola Ige, Lamidi Adesina, Mr. Ladoja and Mr. Akala all lost their re-election bids.
