Blabbermouth: 1. What REE LOA DED said was Messi isn't the GOAT and it should be sm1 else . I asked him who? and he mentioned cr7 {because he won with club and country} . Then I showed him better pple that won with club and country, who should have been called GOAT. 2. Do u knw why this argument continue to abound?? Your basis of deciding the GOAT is skewed to support your claim. While Messians too would skew the GOAT determinant to support messi. 3. on what basis do u CR7 fan think the GOAT status should be judged by?? PS: don't tell me shit abt winning with club and country, I could mention 100 other players 4.Football is an 11 man In a team game. and any body useful or useless could lay claim that he won this trophy or that trophy. The only reasonable way to judge a player's greatness is by what he himself did or had achieved in service. We usually use ballon d'or until messi was leading 4-1 b4 u all started shouting foul!!! {we understand ur love 4 a player, but dont be bias} 5. By individual greatness tell me a single player greater than Messi, both past or present. {do u now understand why he is called the GOAT} Maradona is light years ahead of Messi individually... Pele is the Ronaldo of today when it comes to playing style but maradona is Messi of today... But maradona individually floors Messi... Maradona used different set of teams for both club and country to achieve greatness... The moment xavi and iniesta left barca , Messi could not take Barca to the final of CL again till date... Winning la Liga continuesly can't b a determinant for the title goat... Spanish league is like the Italian league or German league or French league... Let him join real Madrid and Ronaldo Barca and let me know how many titles he will b able to win |

Excaperx: what's there to jealous about the guy whose only achievement is scoring tap in and penalty?. Let ur Messi score the tap ins and Penalty first to claim national title... It's like comparing someone that has flown overseas with economy many times and has achieved alot overseas and another business rival will keep telling u that he has never flown overseas cos he can only enter first class that he can't afford... Just imagine how dull these Messi fans are... Score tap ins, it counts same as scoring spectacular... Those tap ins they downgrade might have won Messi an international trophy or two... When they both retire, no one will remember tap ins but titles won If those tap ins were so easy, then y can't defenders stop him from tapping in or if penalty was that easy , Messi world not have blown his spot kick to mars when he played in his last national final... That penalty loss cost them the title |

Jeferious: Again, you bring up stats. Stats about goals. How many times do you need to be reminded before you understand that stats don't do justice to the argument at hand?
You even shot yourself in the foot with those stats. How many of those goals were scored against FIFA high-ranking nations? There's a stat describing that Messi was better than Ronaldo when it comes to scoring against high-ranking nations when the both are on national duty. But I'm not interested in the stats. I'm interested in real, live contribution to football. I'm interested in the full 90 minutes, not match summaries, highlights or statistics.
I can bring up stats that favour Messi over Ronaldo...but I'm not that kind of pundit. And besides, have you tried comparing the kind Ronaldo with Maradona and the other super-greats I mentioned? I might not argue with you again till you've done so.
All these fans that want to enthrone their favorite player to the "Iron throne" of the game through the backdoor. Pls prove to us whr it's written that Messi scores high ranking nations... In FIFA competitions... In the world cup Messi has only scored Serbia, Nigeria, Iran, Bosnia..that's all ...Messi has never scored Brazil in any competition... Other teams in South America or north America are not standard teams... Europe has the highest number of competitive teams in football... Messi has never scored a former world champion in his career ( in a competitive game) Ronaldo has scored in FIFA or uefa competitions against Spain hat trick, Netherlands twice euro 2004 and 2016 a brace, Belgium twice, Czech Republic 2ice, Croatia.... He even scored against Messis Argentina in a 1.1 draw friendly Show us messis stats ... He only scores against low ranking teams mentioned above, u can add Mexico, Panama Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Trinidad and Tobago and of cause Nicaragua that won him his first enforced title of beating them .useless teams |

Jeferious: In a football team, there are eleven players: defenders, midfielders and strikers. They all have obligations to fulfill in each match, according to the positions they occupy on the pitch. It's just a pity that the media is excessively focused on forwards. Those who score the goals have the spotlight focused on them, while all others who contribute to every other facet of the game apart from goalscoring are largely ignored. For the first time since 2006, FIFA is appreciating that football is bigger than scoring goals. We saw it last year when Modric won the Ballon d'or, and it could also happen this year if Van Dijk wins it too.
Secondly, Portugal is not a lowly team. Rui Patricio is a brilliant goalkeeper. Pepe, Jose Fonte and Bruno Alves are all world-class centre-backs. Raphael Guerrero is doing well at Dortmund Borrusia. Cedric is average, but his game is really improving. William Carlvaho is the brain behind Real Betis dominating Barcelona in terms of ball possession this season. I would put him in the same class with Sergio Busquets. A veritable midfield boss. Andre Gomes, Joao Moutinho, Renato Sanches are not bad players. Goncalo Guides was outstanding for Valencia this past season. What would I say about Bernardo Silva, or Quaresma? My dear, Portugal is a fairly good team, and Ronaldo has great teammates surrounding him in his national side. Besides the team has a great coach who has been more than able to coordinate that team.
Messi is obviously a better individual player than Ronaldo, though I must confess that Ronaldo is far more ambitious. The former relies mainly on his talent and technical genius too much- he is too laidback for my liking. However, if he had teammates who supplied what he lacked as a player, he would have with their help won something with Argentina. But his teammates don't help matters. They rely on him too much... obviously they fail to recognize that he's just a "laidback" genius who has nothing else to offer than talent and immense technical abilities.
But still at that, Messi is better than Ronaldo or any other player in history. The GOAT title was originally meant for him. Ronaldo's fans stole the title because they thought their icon is giving the Argentine a run for his money. Of course, they would always supply useless stats to prove a futile point. But Messi is that kind of player that whatever stats you supply in his favour would not do justice to what he has contributed to the game. A laidback genius quite alright, but a pure genius. 100% genius.
Of course, I expect dissent to my opinion. I expect to see some express that the Portuguese Ronaldo is the rightful GOAT. No problem. Just conduct my little experiment of taking Messi out of the picture, and compare the Portuguese Ronaldo with Maradona, De Lima, Zidane, Pele, Rivaldo. You'd see the stupidity in that claim with your own eyes. U say messis team mates ar not helpful like he plays for some Bosnia or Cameroon ... Now learn from the stats below... And tell me Hu has his team t contributing more

Blabbermouth: 1. what treble did mourinho do? 2. All 6 club trophies winable in his first season as senior manager. Treble winning Barcelona 2009. 2010 top 3 ballon d'or nominees were players under Guardiola. Blabbermouth: UCL finale match is the biggest game on club level. Madrid were leading 3-1 b4 Ronaldo scored, chances of comeback is slim. Ramos was the MOTM (2014) He couldn't score till the match was dragged to penalty. why does he have to be the one for the last play, he was forcing glory. (2016) Ronaldo 2018 did score a single goal, and remember when he doesn't score he is as good as useless.
Messi was Fan MOTM in '09 with a goal that sealed victory
Messi was uefa and fan MOTM 2011 he gave Barcelona the lead goal if u did watch the 2011 final match, can you explain how Villa scored his third goal?? Jeferious: Football enthusiasts, let conduct a little experiment, shall we?
Remove Messi from the picture. Like completely. Alright. Bring Ronaldo forward. I mean the Portuguese Ronaldo. Compare him with all-time greats such as Pele, Maradona, Zidane, Ronaldo de Lima, Rivaldo. Now be honest with yourself. With all those trophies he has won for both club and country, would he measure up with these five I just mentioned? Just try your best to be honest.
Now, bring in Messi again. Here's a man whose profile lacks a major international trophy, and who might never win one throughout his career. Still, he's in this league of greats....in fact he's considered better than some of that five, if not better than all. Trophies are hallmarks of a great football career, but it is important to also note that they are the pleasing product of brilliant teamwork and coordination. That's the mistake pundits make in argument, either due to ignorance or some other factors. Afterall, if the GOAT title would be determined solely by the number and trophies won, even Dani Alves would stake a claim.
In conclusion, there's a reason why Messi would be mentioned in the list of all-time football greats. He's clearly the best individual footballer the world has ever seen. And if the GOAT title is an individual award, the best individual player ever is the one who deserves it. And in my opinion, that player is Messi. I still don't agree with u... Forget alves in this discussion cos u are meant to understand that in every team, there is that one great player that all have their eyes on , u can't bring in alves to that effect... Henry win everything as well in football just like zidane but zidane will always b ahead of him... Ask urself this question, y were those players mentioned ?? Now Pele was outstanding for Brazil and Santos ,won titles with them, maradona was outstanding as well , won titles with Argentina ( 2 Copa America and a WC) and lowly Napoli , zidane WC ,euros ,WC and champions League with real Madrid and league titles with juventus, don't forget when he said he had to win the CL to b mentioned amongst the greats after loosing back to back CL final with juventus ... Cr7 is the first player in history to win league titles in the 3 major Leagues and was the outstanding player in those teams, winning top scorer for those teams and winning best player in those leagues, also won the euros and nations league with lowly Portugal, a team that had never featured in any major final in history till he was called up , a team that had only previously featured in 3 WCs b4 he joined the team .... He is the second highest goal scorer in the history of world football ahead of GERD Muller (Germany ), Pele ( Brazil) and Messi ( Argentina) ... It's unfair to say that a Messi that has only done extremely well for Barcelona is a better player... Ronaldo wasn't just in those teams , he was the best player in those teams ... U guys are just so hateful and so biased |
