A statement by Colonel Timothy Antigha, the deputy director of public relations of the 8 division Nigerian army, revealed that the success was in continuation of Operation Deep Punch 2, designed to smoke out Boko Haram terrorists inhabiting remote islands in Lake Chad basin lying within Nigerian territory.
He said troops of the division on Operation Lafiya Dole, and supported by soldiers of the Armed Forces Strike Group (AFSG) inflicted heavy casualty on the terrorists and recovered weapons and vehicles abandoned by the insurgents.
“The operation which commenced about two weeks ago was proceeded by coordinated air and artillery bombardment of islands and localities occupied by terrorists, and from where they sneak into Magumeri, Kauram and other locations to loot property and attack security personnel and villagers.
“So far, 20 terrorists have been killed, captured 17 others, while over 100 elderly men, women and children have been rescued.
“Preliminary investigation has revealed that a large number of the rescued persons were held against their will and forced to work in farms under life threatening conditions and penurious wages.
“More investigation and interviews will be conducted before the rescued persons are handed over for further action.
“The operation which is on-going has yielded handsomely as terrorists abandon vehicles, arms and ammunition, as well as assorted equipment when troops swooped on them. The troops also recovered 1Mercedes Benz Truck, 3 Toyota Land Cruiser gun trucks, 5 AK-47 riffles, 3 Fabrique Nationals (FN) riffles, 2 G3 riffles and 1 pump action riffle.
“Other items include 1 Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) tube, two bombs, two Very High Frequency (VHF) radios and one night vision goggle.

A heavy rainfall was experienced at the sango otta area of Ogun state. The rain which started during the early hours of this morning left many surprised when the day broke and the residents and motorist became stranded and taken by surprise..pictures below.

* Two Thieves Have Been Apprehended After Inflicting Deep Cut On A Student With Cutlass In Gk campus, futminna

They were intercepted by neighbours who came to rescue the victim and his girlfriend today. The robbers who were said to be four in number attacked a student (name with held) in Entrepreneur and Business Studies Department with a machet leaving cuts on him after stabbing him vigorously. They took his phones and laptop.


We learnt the victim who leaves in sound city Lodge, Gidan kwano minna was attacked by the robbers while he came out to put off his generator. They accompanied him inside his house locked the door asked for his gadgets he then locked his girlfriend in the bathroom for safety while he battles with them. He was stabbed vigorously with deep cuts after taking his belongings. She immediately alerted the neighbours.

They were apprehended by some neighbours while they were trying to force the door open. Two were caught as All effort to force there way-out proved abortive. The other two escaped immediately the door was opened from outside by some angry students.

Students came out in mass to have there own share of the cake as they naked the thieves beating, kicking and hitting them with some hard sticks.

We gathered that one of the suspect is by name Salim 300Level Architecture department. The robbers have been confirmed to have robbed a presenter in search fm (name with held) three days ago with many other students residing in gk as some phones, laptops and other gadgets belonging to students were recovered in company with some weapons like sharped knives, cutlass etc.

They escaped been lynched by some angry students as Niger state police kpakungu division came in rescue of them. They are currently in police custody as at press time.

Her Body Have Been Deposited At The Mortuary While The Boyfriend Is Responding To Treatment At General Hospital Minna.

Two female Boko Haram suicide bombers
reportedly blew themselves up in Cameroon on
Monday morning, April 3.
According to Cameroonian newspaper, L’Oeil du
Sahel, the attack took place in at the entrance of
Mora, behind a technical school.
Mora is a northern town in Cameroon, not far from
the border with Nigeria.
However, only the two suicide bombers were killed
in the attack, the newspaper said.

sect released a video mocking the Cameroonian
Special Forces and boasting that it has not been
defeated.

The commander said the terrorists were on their
