They join other popular destinations on the quarantine list, including Spain, France, and parts of Greece and Portugal. And the fine for repeatedly breaking the self-isolation rules in England has increased to £10,000.

WHO DECIDES THE QUARANTINE LIST?? -

The quarantine list is decided by the Joint Biosecurity Centre (JBC) - set up by the government to monitor coronavirus - works with the chief medical officers of each UK nation and advises on which destinations should be on the list.

HOW IS THE QUARANTINE DECISION MADE?

The decision is often made when 20 or more people out of every 100,000 in a country, or island, are infected over seven days, but other factors are also considered. These include:

1. the estimated proportion of the population that is currently infectious
2. trends in the number of cases and deaths
3. information on a country's testing capacity
4. how much the virus has spread, including clusters of cases and the level of transmission in the community

Most people entering the UK from overseas have to quarantine unless the country is on the list of exempt ''travel corridors''.Many countries have lost their travel corridor status and are back on the quarantine list.

The United Kingdom has announced an Increase in Fine for covid -19 travel offenders, and the recently the addition of Poland & Turkey to it's quarantine list. This happened after the emergence of 6,914 coronavirus cases and 59 deaths on Thursday.

Announcing the changes to the quarantine list, Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said data from Poland showed that "test positivity has nearly doubled increasing from 3.9% to 5.8% alongside a rapid increase in weekly cases".

Poland's was added to the list due to an increase in infection rate. Poland reported 25.9 coronavirus cases per 100,000 people, up from 15.6. Arrivals from the Caribbean islands of Bonaire, St Eustatius and Saba. While Turkey was added over concerns about the way the country reports its covid19 data.

Fines for the first offence of failing to self-isolate when required will start at £1,000, before increasing to £2,000, then £4,000 up to a maximum of[b] £10,000[/b].

A famous YouTuber with over ten million followers is searching for a personal assistant’ to employ but her insane list of demands has left thousands of Twitter users horrified.

A former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law, (NBA-SBl) Mr Olumide Akpata, has emerged the 30th President of the NBA.

Akpata polled 9,891 votes to defeat two senior advocates – Mr Dele Adesina and Dr Babatunde Ajibade. Ajibade polled 4,328 votes and Adesina 3,982 votes.

The 2020 Elections into national offices of the NBA opened at 11.00p.m on Wednesday (July 29) with a total of 29,635 accredited voters, and ended at 11.00p.m on Thursday (July 30)

A total of 18,256 ballots was cast. The results of the elections were announced by the Chairman of the Electoral Committee of the NBA (ECNBA) Mr Tawo Tawo.

Other elected officers for the various offices include Mr John Aikpokpo-Martins as NBA First Vice President with a total of 6,010 votes.

Mr Adeyemo Kazeem emerged NBA Second Vice President with 8,794 votes, Mrs Joyce Oduah was elected NBA General Secretary with 8, 979 votes, while Mrs Uchenna Nwadialo polled 7,314 votes to emerge NBA’s Assistant General Secretary.

Mrs Mercy Agada was elected NBA Treasurer unopposed, Mr Nnamdi Anagor emerged the financial secretary unopposed while Mr Olukunle Edun was elected NBA Welfare Secretary with 9,001 votes.

Dr Rapulu Nduka emerged the NBA Publicity Secretary with 11,964 votes while Mr Naza Afam polled 6,490 votes to emerge NBA Assistant Publicity Secretary.

Akpata expressed appreciation to NBA members for electing him the President, and promised that NBA would record transformation during his administration.

Similarly, Oduah and Edun (General Secretary and Welfare Secretary) thanked God and their supporters for the election, and pledged to live up to their campaign promises

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Akpata is a graduate of Law from the University of Benin. He is a Senior Partner at Templars, a leading commercial law firm.

He will lead the NBA in the next two year. The new executives will be sworn in at a later date.

A restaurant in the United States of America left an unusual notice in their restroom that customers consider inappropriate.


The notice was seen in Finger Licking Restaurant on Bissonet Street in Houston, Texas. It warned customers against blocking their toilet and placed a curse on anyone who does so.


"God will block your blessings if you keep blocking the toilet with excess tissue," the notice reads.



It adds: "Use minimal amount of tissue and throw excesses in the trash can provided. Use the trash can provided for sanitary pad. baby diaper, and wipes and hand towel."



A shocked customer who spoke said the notice is "so inappropriate" and added that it's even more shocking that such was seen in the United States of America.

Ramon Olorunwa Abbas a.k.a. “Ray Hushpuppi” now faces a statutory maximum sentence of 20 years in a US federal prison after being extradited from Dubai to the United States.



In a statement released by the US Department of Justice, the suspected Nigerian fraudster was accused of conspiring to launder hundreds of millions of dollars from business email compromise (BEC) frauds and other scams, including schemes targeting a U.S. law firm, a foreign bank and an English Premier League soccer club.



Hushpuppi made his initial U.S. court appearance this morning in Chicago, and he is expected to be transferred to Los Angeles in coming weeks.



Federal prosecutors who filed a criminal complaint filed on June 25, alleged that the suspected Nigerian fraudster is "one of the leaders of a transnational network that facilitates computer intrusions, fraudulent schemes (including BEC schemes), and money laundering, targeting victims around the world in schemes designed to steal hundreds of millions of dollars".



It was also alleged that Hushpuppi finances his opulent lifestyle of designer clothes, wearing expensive watches, posing in or with luxury cars and charter jets through crime.



The statement partly read;
"BEC schemes as often involving a computer hacker gaining unauthorized access to a business’ email account, blocking or redirecting communications to and/or from that email account, and then using the compromised email account or a separate fraudulent email account to communicate with personnel from a victim company and to attempt to trick them into making an unauthorized wire transfer.

“BEC schemes are one of the most difficult cybercrimes we encounter as they typically involve a coordinated group of con artists scattered around the world who have experience with computer hacking and exploiting the international financial system,” said United States Attorney Nick Hanna. “This case targets a key player in a large, transnational conspiracy who was living an opulent lifestyle in another country while allegedly providing safe havens for stolen money around the world. As this case demonstrates, my office will continue to hold such criminals accountable, no matter where they live.

“In 2019 alone, the FBI recorded $1.7 billion in losses by companies and individuals victimized through business email compromise scams, the type of scheme Mr. Abbas is charged with conducting from abroad.

"Technology has essentially erased geographic boundaries leaving trans-national criminal syndicates to believe that they are beyond the reach of law enforcement. The success in this case was the direct result of our trusted partnerships between the Department of Justice and our federal law enforcement colleagues. These partnerships helped dismantle a sophisticated organized crime group who preyed upon unsuspecting businesses. It is thanks to these partnerships that the American people can feel a bit more secure today.”



Hushpuppi and his suspected co-conspirators were accused of spearheading a BEC scheme that defrauded a client of a New York-based law firm out of approximately $922,857 in October 2019. Abbas and co-conspirators allegedly tricked one of the law firm’s paralegals into wiring money intended for the client’s real estate refinancing to a bank account that was controlled by them.

He was also accused of conspiring to launder funds stolen in a $14.7 million cyber-heist from a foreign financial institution in February 2019, in which the stolen money was sent to bank accounts around the world. Abbas allegedly provided a co-conspirator with two bank accounts in Europe which he expected to receive €5 million (about $5.6 million) in each.

The suspected Nigerian fraudster also allegedly conspired to launder hundreds of millions of dollars from other fraudulent schemes and computer intrusions, including one scheme to steal £100 million (approximately $124 million) from an English Premier League soccer club, the complaint alleges.



This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Anil J. Antony and Joseph B. Woodring of the Cyber and Intellectual Property Crimes Section. If convicted of conspiracy to engage in money laundering, Abbas would face a statutory maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison.

The boss of a pharmacy chain in Beijing has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for selling counterfeit face masks at the height of China’s coronavirus epidemic


Li Dong, chairman of Beijing Jinghai Kangbaixin Medicine Co, and two of his associates were found guilty by a court in the city’s Chaoyang district on Friday, local newspaper The Economic Observer

Li’s associates were identified as Li Yuzhang and Luo Hanyi. The report did not specify what sentences they were given, but said all three planned to appeal the court’s ruling. The case dates back to January when Li bought and then sold through his chain of stores more than 580,000 fake masks advertised as being made by 3M. Demand for masks was soaring at the time as the coronavirus spread across the country.


However, after receiving complaints about the quality of the products, local authorities began an investigation, which ended with Li and his associates being arrested on February 1. On February 25, they were charged with selling counterfeit and substandard goods by prosecutors in Chaoyang.

The court said that the company made 4.3 million yuan (US$608,000) from the sale of the fake goods,

This is not the first time Kangbaixin,[b] which operates more than 60 stores [/b]in Beijing, has been punished for a mask-related offence.


In January, the company was fined 100,000 yuan by authorities in the city’s Dongcheng district for profiteering from the sale of PM2.5 masks, after selling them at a 260 per cent mark-up from the purchase price.

As Covid-19 began to spread around the world, China ramped up its efforts to crack down on companies manufacturing or selling counterfeit masks, as well as those who sought to profiteer from their sale. On February 10, the Supreme People’s Court issued a new rule making it a criminal offence to do so.

A thief fell asleep in the middle of his operation after breaking into a TV presenter’s house in Tanzania.

Confirming the incident in an interview with East Africa Radio, [b]ITV Zanzibar presenter, Farouk Karim [/b]said the thief entered his compound by scaling the fence.

The journalist added that the thief stole shoes and clothes before setting his sights on the car’s power windows.

Recounting the incident, Farouk said he left home early in the morning for morning exercise only to receive a call that a thief was found at his home When he returned home, he found the thief sleeping in his car.

Farouk said: “We found him deep asleep in the car with all he had stolen the previous night on his lap.”

The journalist said the thief was able to access the car as the doors were not locked. He then proceeded to steal the power window mechanism from the passenger’s side.

“I think as he tried removing the power window from the driver’s side that’s when he fell asleep,” Farouk said.

Farouk added that an angry mob gathered, ready for jungle justice, but he discouraged them from carrying out the act.

Farouk called law enforcement and when they arrived, the thief was still sleeping. They placed him in handcuffs after which they woke him up and took him to the police station together with the things he stole.

Farouk said: “We accompanied him to the police station as one would a bride on her wedding day. I think he fell asleep after getting contented with his loot.”

Reacting to claims that voodoo must have been involved in making the thief fall asleep on the job, Farouk gave credit to the power of prayer.

He said: “The easiest way to make a thief fall asleep is praying to God to protect you and your home.”

American civil rights activist, Reverend Al Sharpton (pictured below) delivered a powerful eulogy at George Floyd Memorial service.

Speaking at the event which is being held at the Frank J. Lindquist Sanctuary at North Central University in Minneapolis, the Baptist minister said: “Go home. Get your rest, George. You changed the world, George.”

“I want us to not sit here and act like we had a funeral on the schedule,” the civil rights leader began. “George Floyd should not be among the deceased. He did not die of common health conditions. He died of a common American criminal justice malfunction.

“He died because there has not been the corrective behavior that has taught this country that if you commit a crime, it does not matter whether you wear blue jeans or a blue uniform, you must pay for the crime you commit.”
“George Floyd’s story has been the story of black folks. Because ever since 401 years ago, the reason we could never be who we wanted and dreamed to be is you kept your knee on our neck,” the Rev. Al Sharpton said in a fierce eulogy. “It’s time for us to stand up in George’s name and say, ‘Get your knee off our necks!’”

Sharpton also vowed a movement to “change the whole system of justice.”

Another memorial service is scheduled for Saturday in Raeford, N.C., where Floyd was born, while on Tuesday, a funeral will be held in Houston, where he lived much of his life until he moved to Minneapolis.

The funeral for George Floyd, who was painfully murdered in Minneapolis, United States last week, will be held June 9 in Houston, the family attorney, Ben Crump has announced.

A memorial service will be held in Minneapolis today Thursday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.(7pm West African time), according to Crump.

The funeral in Houston, where Floyd grew up, will be at 11 a.m. CT, Crump said at a news conference.

The death of Flyod was revealed in a viral video showing police officer Derek Chauvin pressing his knee of Floyd’s neck, and other officers kneeling on his back.

The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) [/b]has reacted to the death of a Nigerian man after he was brutally beaten in India.

The Nigerian businessman, popularly called [b]Sunny Mike, was beaten to death on Wednesday, May 27, at Palam , New Delhi. It was gathered that the businessman was accused of theft by an Indian lady which prompted passers-by to beat him till he passed out.

By the time police arrived at the scene, he had died. His body was immediately moved to the morgue and friends and family members took to social media to demand justice.

Reacting to Sunny Mike’s death, NIDCOM shared a video of his brutal beating and wrote: “Our attention has been drawn to above incident of a Nigerian brutally beaten up in Delhi, India.

WWE legend, Rey Mysterio is set to officially call it time on his illustrious career in wrestling at a retirement ceremony on Monday Night Raw next week.

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) announced a statement on Twitter that read: “@WWERollins (Seth Rollins) will be the host of @reymysterio’s retirement ceremony next week on #WWERaw.”

The WWE also made a follow-up announcement that Seth Rollins will be the host for Mysterio’s retirement ceremony.

The 45-year-old,whose real name is Oscar Gutierrez, is widely regarded as the greatest cruiserweight in professional wrestling history. The Mexican-American professional wrestler began performing at a young age and made his wrestling debut in Mexico in 1989.

130 people come forward to claim they are Jeffrey Epstein’s children after the pedophile’s $635 million estate was put on the line for inheritance

A website created by a DNA company to find any possible heirs to deceased financier Jeffrey Epstein’s multi-million dollar estate has heard from 130 people claiming to be the convicted pedophile’s children.

If any are found to be the former financier’s children, they could lay claim to a piece his US$635 million ($1.04 billion) estate, which includes his Manhattan mansion, Zorro Ranch in Stanley, New Mexico, and a luxury 30-hectare estate, dubbed “paedophile island”, the Daily Mail reported.

About 386 people contacted Epsteinheirs.com, with 30 percent saying they are not sure but think they might be his offspring.

The American billionaire financier, 66, took his life in a Manhattan jail cell in August while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges. Epstein had never married and was not known to have had any children. He left his assets in a trust after his death.

Earlier this year, Epstein’s estate was valued at $635 million, an increase from about $577 million after the sale of some of its assets.

Executors reportedly sold five of Epstein’s cars including a $195,000 Bentley, a $133,200 Mercedes, and three Chevrolet Suburbans worth a total of $112,000.

His estate also closed four bank accounts associated with his companies. The accounts held more than $500,000 in cash combined.

According to the report, more than two dozen women who have filed lawsuits accusing Epstein of sexually abusing them could stand to receive a portion of a settlement fund, which is being created by lawyers currently managing the estate.

English football manager, Harry Redknapp, 77, has been linked as the next coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

A source from the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports told the UK Star : “The feeling is Harry Redknapp will be coming to manage Nigeria soon.’’

Redknapp, who previously managed AFC Bournemouth, West Ham United, Portsmouth, Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur, Queens Park Rangers and Birmingham City could replace Gernot Rohr, who has been in charge of Nigeria since 2016.

This comes days after Rohr confirmed that he had been offered a new contract to remain the head coach of the Super Eagles for the next two years and a half. Although, the NFF haven’t confirmed or deny the new deal.

In a statement to The Cable, the German football manager, 66, said: “Yes, I can confirm that we found an agreement with NFF to continue our collaboration for two and half years.”

“I want to say thank you to the Nigeria Football Federation, led by President Amaju Pinnick, the board and of course the General Secretary for their confidence in me to continue in this job.

“It is not common to have a country with the same national coach for what will be six years and this will be made possible because of the support of the federation, the government of Nigeria and our team.

“We have a big project in front of us. We have the quality and with the continued cooperation of everyone concerned, including the fans and good people of Nigeria, I believe we will have a good result that will spell great development for football in Nigeria in the future.”

At least two people including a bank executive have been pulled alive from the wreckage of an Airbus A320 which crashed after an ‘engine failure’ in Pakistan on Friday May 22, with 98 people on board.

“Thank you so much. God has been merciful,’ Zafar Masood, the President of the Bank of Punjab said, according to officials who spoke to him in hospital after the crash. The other known survivor was named as Muhammad Zubair.

The PIA’s Airbus A320 carrying 98 passengers including eight crew, was attempting to land at the city’s Jinnah International Airport after flying from Lahore before it crashed into a residential area of Karachi at about 14:30 local time (09:30 GMT).

Pakistan’s civil aviation authority said the plane had 91 passengers and a crew of seven.

At least two people aboard survived, according to the country’s health department, revising an earlier statement that three were alive. But the other 95 passengers and crew are believed to have died.


The aircraft wings during the crash landing hit the houses in the residential colony before crashing down.

“At least 25 houses have been damaged in this incident,” Edhi said.

“The first priority is to rescue the people. The main hurdle is narrow streets and presence of ordinary people who gathered at the place after the crash but they have been dispersed,” the minister said.

According to BBC, the plane had attempted one landing but as it went round again lost its engines and issued a mayday call to traffic control.

The pilot reportedly said: ‘We are proceeding direct, sir – we have lost engine’. ‘Confirm your attempt on belly,’ the air traffic controller said, offering a runway. ‘Sir, mayday, mayday, mayday, mayday Pakistan 8303,’ the pilot said before the transmission ended

Pakistani supermodel Zara Abid was on board the ill-fated Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft that crashed into a residential neighbourhood while on approach to the airport in the southern Pakistani city of Karachi.



The passengers’ list of the flight issued to the media, shows Zara Abid boarded the Airbus A320 passenger airliner that crashed before landing in Karachi.


Health ministry spokeswoman Meeran Yousuf told Al Jazeera by telephone that 80 people have died, with 48 bodies kept at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, Karachi's largest government hospital, and 32 at Civil Hospital Karachi, another major state-run hospital.


Yousuf said two survivors were being treated at the hospitals in Karachi, while 17 bodies have been identified so far.



At least six people who were on the ground when the airliner crashed into houses in the densely populated Model Colony area of Karachi, adjacent to the city's international airport, were being treated for their injuries, she added.

A popular hotelier in Ogun State, Alhaji Jimoh Bello, who went missing on Monday night May 18, was found dead inside his car trunk along Owode-Idi-Iroko Road in the state today May 21.

Late Bello who owns Uncle J. Bee Hotel located at 168, Lagos-Idiroko Road, Owode, Yewa South Local Government area of Ogun State, left his home at Owode around 8:30pm on May 18 for Idi-Iroko but never got to his destination. His family members declared him missing after waiting for 48 hours.


After an intense search, he was found naked inside the trunk of his saloon car today May 21. It is believed that he was ambushed on his way by assailants who stripped and killed him, then locked his body inside his car.

Road users who noticed a stench from a car that was stationed by the roadside, alerted the police who opened the vehicle and found the man’s dead body in the trunk.

The state Commissioner for Police, Kenneth Ebrimson, who confirmed the incident, said an investigation has commenced.

A pregnant woman who was in labour died today after she was allegedly delayed by police officers for not wearing a face mask in the Ogun Waterside local government area of Ogun state.

According to reports, the deceased, Waidat Adedeji, went into labour and was being rushed on a motorcycle by one of her children to the Ita-Otu General hospital when they were stopped by police officers at Sowore checkpoint. The police officers inquired why they were not wearing face masks and also not obeying the social distancing order of the state government.

It was gathered that the policemen allegedly delayed the motorcyclist for hours before they were later released. The woman reportedly died some minutes after.

Youths in the area blamed the police for her death. As a way of protest, they took her corpse and dumped it at the Abigi Divisional Police Headquarters.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, denied the claim that police officers caused the pregnant woman’s death.

“Our officers were not responsible for the pregnant woman’s death. There were three occupants on a motorcycle as against the directive of the state government that only two people should occupy a motorcycle at a time. They were stopped and interrogated on why they did not obey the sit at home order. They informed the police that the woman was being conveyed to hospital for delivery, and having noticed that the woman was in pains, our men allowed them to proceed,” .

The Federal Ministry of Education has ordered vice chancellors to maintain the closure of federal, state and private universities in order to keep students and university communities safe from coronavirus.

The National Universities Commission gave the directive through a circular by the Director, Directorate of the Executive Secretary’s Office, Chris Maiyaki.

The circular read,

“Vice chancellors will please recall that following the ministerial directive of March 19, 2020, the NUC issued two circulars on Friday, March 20, to convey approval for the closure of institutions for a period of one month effective from Monday, March 23.

“The Federal Ministry of Education has subsequently directed on Friday, March 8, that all schools remain closed as the Federal Government is closely monitoring developments on the containment of the COVID-19. Vice-Chancellors are to ignore the fake news being circulated in the social media as the situation is under constant review and any decision will be conveyed through the appropriate channels.

The Federal Ministry of Education has ordered vice chancellors to maintain the closure of federal, state and private universities in order to keep students and university communities safe from coronavirus.

The NUC had, on March 19, ordered the closure of tertiary institutions for one month as part of the measures to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

The popular ride hailing business, Uber, is set to lay off 3,700 full-time workers due to the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic [url]Bluebloodz.com[[/url]/b] has learned.

The CEO of Uber Technologies Inc., [b]Dara Khosrowshahi, will also forgo his basic salary for the rest of the year,[url] Reuters reports.[/url]

Uber is a third-party ride hailing company. It currently operates in over 85 countries. Most of the vehicles under the brand are owned by individuals who tap into its digitalised mode of operation to make a living, and in return pay a percentage into the coffers of the company.

Unfortunately, since the outbreak of coronavirus, the business has taken a downward spiral as human activities became restricted across nations in a bid to curtail the spread of the disease. This inversely means a drastic drop in app-based rides.

As reported by Reuters on Wednesday, the categories of workers to be laid off include its “customer support and recruiting teams.” The firm said it “expects to incur about $20 million in costs for severance and related charges.”

Meanwhile, Uber shares opened 3 per cent lower on Wednesday as the company is expected to report its earnings on Thursday.
