Hmmmm! How I wish the governor can look beyond what he is seeing now. He should remember that he will not be there forever. Also his successor might not buy into his own idea which will make the Kogi more vulnerable to attack somehow someday.

From the little I know, there is always a fight in kogi especially okene people. Now, if they cannot tolerate themselves for long, is it Fulani herdsmen they will tolerate? I doubt not. I think the governor should go and sleep and think deeply before he throw his people into everlasting sorrow

People from your ethnic group or state who're also benefiting from sharing of oil monies won't allow it to break. Every state, every region, every ethnic group is guilty of this. Your governor, former governors, house of assembly members serving and former, all public office holders and public/civil servants in your state don't want any change in the status quo. If Nigeria breaks, most, if not all of them, would lose their position. Some of them would even be killed. They are afraid of that. Imagine for a second Nnamdi Kanu/IPOB and the Igbo elites should Biafra be allowed.....

More so, aside from the people from your place not wanting to lose the advantage that they currently enjoy from the present state of things, every other part of Nigeria, except the oil producing states, is afraid of being by themselves.

They think they can't survive without collecting a share from the oil proceeds that comes from Niger Delta. They think they will be poor if Nigeria ceases to exist. They think they will lose their house in Lagos and Abuja should Nigeria break off.

Even at the individual level, if today you own a house in Abuja and/or Lagos, your stomach will turn anytime you hear of disintegration. Why? because you think you ill lose your property because break-off means everyone will have to return to their country.

The Northerners know this and they use Abuja to blackmail the elites from your ethnic group, state, or region to stay in Nigeria. It is why Junaid Mohammed, a Northerner, reminds you all the time that the North will keep everything in Abuja and also take Illorin with them should the country break. He says this because he knows that if you own a house or piece of land in Abuja, that you cannot even begin to think of losing it because of break-off and as such would support the continuation of the shithole as one nation.

Ultimately, it really boils down to this: You are happy with the continuation of "One Nigeria" if you've benefited from corruption or hope to do so at some point in time. And if corruption has not benefited you and you don't see any chance of that happening, then Nigeria is an unbearable entrapment. Very sad indeed.

How I wish you understand my point of view. My own is that the incessant and unjustifiable killing must stop. Whether you have a house in Abuja or in Abakaliki, how is that one my business.

Why cant this country break once and for all and let everyone go their own way. Must we live together? We are not of the same language and we have different ideology, why then staying together when the illiterate and half illiterate that knows nothing about governance are the ones that wants to rule because of national cake.

Hi Nairalander, I was just thinking about the event of things that has been happening for months now on the issue of Fulani Herdsmen (FH) and how the president has been mute.

I remembered Buhari administration launched a project campaign tagged "Change Begins With Me" but today nothing is heard. Hence the question....

Is it that the anticipated change has been achieved?

Is it that the current crisis of FH cum Boko Haram insurgent has forced the FG to change abandoned the project?

Did the programme achieve anything positive in terms of reorientation?

I don't know whether the programme actually stop corruption or it fuels it.

These and many more has been on my mind as another general election come close which I know that they will come with another juicy words to get votes.

I always tell friends that if you dont know the bible from Gen-Rev but practice 1Cor13vs13 which summarises all bible and scriptures then you are good to go. Its not in the knowledge (it puffs up), its in the action or act of service to humanity.
