nextstep: Brother please; genti:
First - if anybody claimed that "Yorubas deserve this or that", I would give them the same answer: work at it, not make noise about what you think you deserve. Other parts of the country have been far more politically astute than Igbos, and that's why they have the majority of the power.
Second - the desire for Biafra is perceived to be universal. In other words: most of the people who would make good allies are being turned off by secessionist rhetoric which (it must be said) Igbo politicians have been reluctant to denounce. If you're not seen to be speaking out against something, your silence amounts to consent (in the mind of the public).
Third - unlike SW and NC folks who work behind the scenes to consolidate power, what I hear from the SE is mostly: "we should be allowed to..." What I want to see is SE politicians (and agitators) working silently to get power. It's not by noise or by complaining... it's by building alliances.
Fourth - I'm not from the North, nor am I from SW. If we can't take constructive criticism from our own people, what do we gain? "Stoop to conquer" appears to be a saying lost on us.
Fifth - I'm still very upset that the Oba of Lagos asked us to "go an jump into the lagoon", and have refused to build anything or add any value in Lagos. I hope others from SS and SE will get tired of being insulted and develop our own place, and strengthen our political standing nationally. This is done with hard work, foresight, and dedication to the cause. Not by posting every other week that we deserve this or that. Ironically, by asking, it shows we're the weak ones (politically). You know nothing, you are writing as if nigeria is an ideal society. We have edge in academics. The north is insufficient in academics, the country introduced quota system to accommodate them The north can't meet up on merit based appointments, the country introduced federal character to accommodate them The east can't meet up in the military. Nothing has been done to make them catch up instead they are mocking them The SW had a political brouhaha because of June 12th elections cancelation. The country compensated them with the president in 1999. We all know about how the script of how OBJ was brought out from prison, pardoned and made president. We knew everything on the elections were formality. Now the east is deficient in politics with their numbers, nothing is being done to integrate them instead you hear our Yoruba media with slogans like "igbos can’t reap where you didn't sow" to alienate them the more. You hear yoruba media and editorials highlighting why igbos can't be president, how igbos have burnt bridges, how igbos have insulted every body. Yorubas are using their media to keep igbos down. You cannot have a 100% sanity in every society, so yorubas must look for one thing from the Igbo society to always use against us. If you are igbo stop helping them to amplify their methods they are using to keep you down. Not that the yorubas are free of what ever they are always accusing us it's just that we are not just doing the same "pull him down syndrome" that they are always doing to us Remember they also have OPC, Ganiyu Adams who fought to take over ilorin, and are also fighting for oduduwa Hope you know that the yorubas have compensated him with their highest military title "aare ona kakanfo" - igbos have never written anything against this as a reason why yorubas can't rule as they would have done to us if we owned Ganiyu Adams. While our own political leaders and governors came together to proscribe IPOB and label it terrorist. So wherein lies the silence of our leaders that you are talking about I want you to reflect very well on the two scenarios that I painted on the last paragraph and you will know that we are the victims of hatred and unjust power play |

famulan: Tell the Igbos to move on too. They caused everything and now they're playing the victim card. The idiot called Nnamdi Kanu doesn't tell his ignorant followers the background story. He just shouts Biafra and refers to the Civil War as a genocide. As if Igbos didn't kill Nigerian soldiers.
When Igbos are ready to co-operate, they will do the right thing. For now, let's keep blaming ourselves... Since some of you think that's the solution. No problem let's continue blaming so that country can develop |

famulan: Nobody is frustrating you. Igbos killed Ladoke Akintola too, we never retaliated. Nobody killed Nnamdi Azikwe. He died peacefully in Enugu.
This is why I said Igbos don't know their own history. They were responsible for a lot of atrocities in our politics. All these Buhari and Obasanjo saw these things first hand. That's the reason Igbos are not trusted till date. The Civil War wounds shouldn't last forever. It's time to move forward or this fighting will continue from generations to generations and the country will remain a shithole |

famulan: The political profiteers would never say anything as the system currently favours them, but we all know the agitation for Biafra by Igbos is stronger than Arewa or Oduduwa calls.
Either ways, I support the Igbos to do whatever they want but they must stop the noise making. If your leaders can come together and decide on a referendum to leave, trust me, even Yorubas may leave. But stop blaming Yoruba, it is irritating. Every tribe is guilty, forget about the ratio you attaching to it Remember OPC once had its peak period. But nobody is amplifying it the way yoruba media would have done if OPC belonged to the igbos Thats my grouse with the yorubas Yorubas are the ones bringing out awareness to the north why igbos shouldn't rule They are the ones going about with the slogan that igbos hate every body, why igbos are not fit to rule, why igbos shouldn't rule. Everything against igbos stems from yoruba media |

nextstep: It's the right of every Nigeria to produce a president. Let the candidates who want to run for president connect themselves to the right people, say the right things, raise enough money, and convince their party to pick them.
If an Igbo person - in spite of education, wealth, progressive attitude, pan-Nigerian support, cannot lift themselves to be a party's front line runner, that's that person's fault.
Constantly bringing up secession, antagonizing your hosts (in Lagos) with "we built this city", constantly disrespecting Northern sensibilities, being patronizing to minorities in the SS... those are not good ways to earn pan-Nigerian support. You can be brilliant without rubbing it in people's faces, constantly bragging. Instead, people like Baba Nwobodo should be working in the background, silently oiling the wheels for an Igbo presidency. Stop writing rubbish Which igbo politician has ever told you that he wants Biafra After all OPC did in SW, has igbos written any long editorial while yorubas can't rule because of that After all that you people did against igbos in the last elections in Lagos by flogging voters , no igbo has ever written any long editorial why yorubas can't rule because of that but you lots are justifying your bad actions |

famulan: There are 2 big mistakes Igbos are making, thus limiting them from getting to the pinnacle of federal politics:
1. Thinking someone will come and give the presidency to them just because they feel like they deserve it. 2. Nursing and encouraging a secessionist agenda for the 2nd time.
Igbos must understand that if they are not ready to broker deals with political heads in the southwest and the north in general, 16 years to this time, there may never be an Igbo president.
Also the Nnamdi Kanu of a guy who they have given a cult followership has made the entire country see them as secessionists. So how can a region that calls Nigeria a zoo, wants to leave and is always quick to claim Biafran, be given the presidency? It doesn't work that way.
It is impossicant! Stop writing maliciously Has any igbo politician told you he wants Biafra? Can you explain those behind oduduwa and arewa? |
