Being detained and being jailed are 2 widely different things. People are detained when suspected for criminal offences while investigation is ongoing or during legal proceedings in the case of capital offences, that's the norm everywhere in the world. This is not the norm everywhere. Of course there are saner countries that operate like this. But for a country that operates on the democratic principle, you shouldn’t be detaining people for maligning without proving that they are actually guilty of it. What they did by arresting VDM without first issuing charges and proving that he did something wrong, is that they’ve deterred other Nigerians who might have related issues in the future from speaking up.
It boggles the mind how your ilk will go on loving injustice and cruelty simply because it’s not done to you.
