Just to give everyone waiting for decision on their visa application some hope.

Someone close to me got her visa yesterday for January Start date.

Application Submission at VFS Lagos: November 6, 2025
DHL Informed her of her passport return: January 21,2026.
Visa Approved(Yes/No): Yes

Her number was not listed on the most recently published decision. I will check next week's notice to see whether it would be mentioned there.

Education bond is okay.
It is acceptable

DHL messaged me on whatsapp on friday evening notifying me that my passport was on its way back to lagos from abuja, i went to pick it up this morning from their office.

I’m currently researching the Irish study visa process and I need clarification from those who have applied recently or are already in Ireland.

I applied to MTU, Ireland September.

From what I’ve seen online, many Irish schools seem to require full or one-time tuition payment (or a very large upfront payment) before issuing an admission letter that can be used for visa application.

My questions are:
1. Is it compulsory to pay full school fees before applying for the Irish student visa, or is a deposit sometimes acceptable?

1. First, check the DHL tracking to confirm whether the passport was handed over to DHL and possibly delivered to the wrong address. If this appears to be the case, contact DHL directly and copy the embassy on the email so they are aware of the situation.

A screenshot showing your visa number with the status marked as approved
The DHL tracking page showing that the passport has not yet been handed over to DHL for return
In the body of the email, clearly explain the situation using all the information you have and request confirmation that your passport be returned if the visa stamp has already been issued.

I wrote that based on a true testimony and what was written in a refusal letter.

My friend submitted an application last year, which was denied. The reason given was that the travel dates had already passed.

He submitted another application in September of last year, and his passport was returned to him on January 9 with a three-month visa.

Ireland does not allow dependent visa but you going to Ireland for Masters may be the key to have have your family with you later..Huge sacrifice but worth it...(Think and deliberate very well based on your own situation)
Instead of Business Administration, I'd suggest International Business as a better option. You can build a career in the financial Compliance out of it

No, this is not true.
I had similar situation recently and Visa was granted.
Application Submission:May 27, 2025
Planned travel date in Application: August 15
passport returned =September15
Visa Start/end date: September 23 - December 22

The likelihood that the Irish embassy will refuse a visa is extremely high if the trip dates stated in the application have already passed.

The reason that will be cited in the denial or refusal letter will be based on the fact that the travel dates have passed.

Hi guys. My study visa has been approved since ending of October but I’m still yet to receive it. I had to defer my admission to 2026 September because my visa did not come in on time. I notified the embassy regarding this, however, I’ve not received my visa. Is anyone else experiencing something similar?

Yes if you don't explain gaps, then expect refusal.

I live In Ireland and that's the school I attended. So I know quite few things about the school.
I know last year or 2 years ago they started April intake for some programs. I am not sure which programs though.
What program are you coming to DBS to study

Well my own program doesn’t have an April intake when I applied and even when I deferred until they messaged me about my application and updated me sir.

DBS has done April intake before.I am not sure it is for all programs though.

They haven't heard anything that's why I was shocked when you said your resumption for Griffith is January and when one of the guy I know is February 28. Even the school I applied for (DBS) now have intake for April which I think they didn't have before so now I will have to differ to April again if January to meet am and this was an advise from the school base on what is happening or I withdraw my application and prepare for September 2026 afresh. Keep mailing your school, they all know what's happening

It's usually like that before, visa decision comes out early. I got my initial visa decision in August and I applied late June but now seeing someone who has gotten decision since that August is now a huge task and this people are not rushing themselves based on the number of lists they release every Monday.

Plus lots of people in ireland for study purpose are not seeking asylum..Where did you get this information from?
People are getting jobs even uphill last year Ireland gave people Stamp without the need for workpermit..

Because Nigerian population seeking asylum is less than 35% of people seeking asylum.
I do not believe it has anything to do with Asylum. This delay started when they moved to the new place..
The delay is not affecting study visa it is affecting visit visa applicants too..
I have someone whom visit visa took 17 weeks but it was approved.
The Irish are not happy with illegal immigrations particularly unvetted people from Ukraine.

One person that I know had her application for January intake sent to Ireland.
Processing time in ireland is fast for study visa.
