From your experience in cabbage farming, have you come across those with two ,even three heads, as in catapult style? I saw few among mine with 2 heads and are looking very OK.

Yes, we get 2, 3 or 4-headed ones, with each head being the the size of an orange or slightly bigger. I have never really investigated why they turn out like that because we get so few of them - on average, may be one on every 400 plants. Not been a big problem for us. They are certainly edible.

However educated & successful they are in business or their professions, most Nigerians don't take the time to analyse and think through agreements before signing them.

They can breeze through a 25 page agreement in 5 mins, and the next thing is, they grab pen and sign

Infact, once an agreement is more than 5 pages, they start complaining and asking...you expect me to read all these?

Never grown pepper, but if I did and felt I needed a suffurcant, I would certainly experiment with vegetable oil on a small patch of the planted field. But that would most certainly be before fruiting starts.

We grow plenty cabbage. Probably because of their thickness, Cabbage leaves take in water very slowly which means your spray needs to stay on the leaves a little longer for it to be absorbed. One way we found to keep spray longer on the leaves is to use a suffurcant, in this case, vegetable oil.

So far, it has worked brilliantly for us.

We don't add a suffurcant when spraying
Cucumber because we haven't found it to be necessary, and infact, the last thing you want as a cucumber farmer is little patches of oil stain on your fruits.

No such concern with cabbage since you often have to remove 3 - 4 layers of leaves before you sell, so buyers absolutely see no sign of any oil stain.

At the end of the day, it comes down to understanding what you grow and devising specific solutions for specific plants. One size rarely fits all.

Pistotita:

Do you ever put into consideration the reaction of vegetable oil with the chemicals?

So far, I've not observed any negative reaction.

Also what possible reaction can vegetable oil, which is nearly 100% natural have on a pesticide/fungicide compared to most commercial suffurcants which are synthetic.

Anyway, those who want a super cheap and readily available can give it a try.

To the person asking about suffurcant - it's not every thing they use in Europe & America that you must buy in order to farm in Nigeria. Otherwise where is your profit going to come from.

Whenever possible, I try to think of local alternatives to some of these foreign products.

A useful & readily available suffurcant is good old vegetable oil. 2 or 3 spoons per 16 litre knapsack will do the job. First, mix the oil with a small amount of the product you want to spray & ensure a good blend before mixing in the knapsack.

That's your suffurcant there!

It's good you have access to a bore hole, but if you're going to water the plants by hand, then think carefully about whether you should do more ridges than the ones I can see in your photo. I suggest you start small.

Watering cucumber plants by hand every day during the dry season no be joke o.

The Bullion van has a manifest, that can easily be sought by the EFCC, more so if a bank engaged the services of the owners of the vans.[/quote]

Whatever manifest existed in that company will by now have been altered/destroyed. Lol. I contend, though you may disagree, that, no company operating in Lagos will want to be seen providing evidence in court against Tinubu. Probably too risky. No company MD will want to put his company through all that imbroglio. Not worth it.

Establishing BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT in a court, that the man committed a crime is a high threshold which EFCC prosecutors would struggle to overcome in this case.

If you charge him for money laundering, you have to first prove that the bullion vans were carrying money. That may not be easy to prove. Also, bullion vans can be, and are often empty. They don't always have money in them.

Furthermore, I'm not aware of any law in this country that forbids bullion vans from entering a private property.

And what if Mr Tinubu says one of the vans was carrying HIM ... as a decoy, for security reasons?

A half-baked defense lawyer will be confident of seeing off EFCC in this case. But we know Mr Tinubu, who is probably the most connected person in Nigeria, will be defended in court by a retinue of the best lawyers in the land, many of who will jostle to be part of his defense team... without pay.

What chance EFCC?

Organophosphates like Action 40 are old-school insecticides and are typically more harmful to humans.

Actara, which is readily available is a better & safer option for dealing with whiteflies.

I'm interested in buying 2 inch PE layflat mainline. Do you have in stock, not pre-order.

Seems you bought a 3 inch water pump. I suggest you keep an eye on the output as it might pump out too much water for your drop line & cause damage.
