The Vatican has sent their reactions to the misconceptions assaulting the Saint Valentine's day.
An image of the Pope in a very brief but resounding conversation this afternoon as the Pope walked to clear his head.

It's now about our own understanding of love which quite selfish. The subject of love drive Nigerian youths especially the girls crazy. It is a country torn apart with several crises, poverty and corruption. That's why religion strives. People need something to hold onto. Hope for messiah. That's why the misconceptions of the Valentine's day happen and big brands and government are making more money. People need to feel love. Feel companion. The need to know that someone can be everything to you. Sex comes after. Subconsciously lol.

All these factors has led Nigerian youths to a hustle and tussle. A rampage and stampede on the very tenets of this day. The result is a total rape of Saint Valentine's memory.

We have asked the world leaders to send in their reactions to the misconceptions of Saint Valentine's Day. First to send their reaction is Washington DC with the picture above.

While growing up we always thought boxing day was the day you are free to hit anybody in the face and get away with it. We grew up and that was settled to be the day opening up boxed gifts from Christmas day.

Valentine's day is suffering the highest misconceptions a given day will ever suffer.
1. It is called Saint Valentine's day and not Saint Valentine or just Valentine day. It is so because the day was set aside to celebrate Valentinus, a man who showed love to everybody he came across. He was popular for arranging weddings for soldiers that were denied marriage. He was jailed and was noted for healing his jailers daughter.
2. It was originally a Christian originated event to celebrate the sainted Valentinus. It was not founded in a college hostel.
3. It was required of today that everybody show love to everybody especially enemies, the sick, the less privileged. It was never about your nice red dress and number f gifts you get. Never about your selfies and hashtag. Never about sex and the best night of your life. It was never about us. But like I always say. Lovers community are the most selfish people. They turn everything about them. From Christmas (someone else's birthday) to Valentine to Easther, to all the plenty Muslim "Eid" celebrations. That's sad.

Washington has expressed disappointment on this and putting structures in place with us The #RDCC (Relationship and Dating Crimes Commission) to curb the many excesses staining the saintly image of Saint Valentine.

We have been very close friends since university days till now.
We are both live in Port Harcourt now. Sometimes, we live together because we visit each other and spend weeks staying together at each other's houses.

One day she told me that the guy he just met was more interested in me. That she also wasn't really interested in him. She set us up and we went on a date.
From then, I and the guy started seeing each other but along the way my friend started seeing him too. I guess she found her interest again in him.

She knows I'm still seeing him. I know she is still seeing him. The guy knows that we know he knows he is dating two friends. I and my girl are still close friends. We don't just discuss him. It seems like we are dynamically sleeping with the same guy and not letting it come between us. I don't know how we are doing it but for real thatss what it is. We still stay together sometimes.

I don't know if I like him more or she does but somehow the guy knows how to treat a lady but because of the craze in this thing. He isn't taking us seriously, he feels we are a pair of desperados and I'm sure he is not going to settle with any of us. As a matter of fact, I and my friend knows his main girlfriend.

I and my friend knew about this but never even discussed it. We just pretended to each other like there is nothing happening inbetween us. Somehow something kept us glued to the awkwardness. Maybe because we both pretended and playing a game of chicken, waiting for one person to lady up and break up. But none of us is showing signs of uninterest not to mention quit.

I don't know what my friend's story is but I know she is dating another guy. The guy doesn't know she shares another guy with her bestfriend.
I have been in meaningless relationships. It is settled that guys cheat, cheat and cheat again. I'm not ready to hustle and tussle in a relationship like I'm at war. When I'm ready to get married, I will light the candle of expectations but now, I'm okay with a guy that takes care of me sexually and otherwise even if there is no future. I have commitment issues myself, that's why this twisted cycle is okay with me. My very demanding job keeps me busy. So I guess I ain't hunting till am hunted.

You all can put on your judgement caps and start criticising forgetting that all girls are just dating the same guys. Difference is that I know about mine. You don't know about yours.

For about five years. I lived a very funny bisexual life.
I am straight. So damn straight. As a matter of fact, I score girls easily to bed because I had mastered the psychological tricks of smooth talking and I am quite sexy, tall with the abs, athletic, strong and long lasting.

Somewhere down the line, girls stopped falling for six packs and sexy handsome. They wanted this phone, this hair or Dubai. Action shifted to those who had money to spend. I had quit my former job, it was taking a while to get another. Had no much means of making money. I couldn't get girls anymore cos I was broke. My friends and I stopped having fun weekends. They all depended on me for fun and upkeep because there weren't working.

There was a certain guy, quite older than me. Always made subtle passes at me, gave me gifts and invited me to bars and hotels. I manage to get the gifts but stalled or declined the hotel visits. Soon, I couldn't stall any longer. He had spent quite much and I needed it to keep coming.
Gay activities wasn't new to me, I went to boys boarding school.

He was enjoying our times ogether, while I endured. They were the longest one hours of my life. But knowing he was very generous and gave me plenty cash, gifts and travels, I persevered. It might take him a while but he did everything I requested.
My friends. Haha. Guys don't care where money comes from as long as fun weekends were back. Girls too. I was balling. People were jealous of me. Vacations in Turkey, Morroco, London.


Funny thing was. He was very jealous. Very sensitive and acts up. If I receive a call from a girl or when I chat on my phone. If he finds out I went out with a girl, he goes cold for days. Being with my friends wasn't that cool for him too. He wanted all my free time to himself. His lifestyle too, was quite embarrassing but let's leave that out.

He was with me everywhere. I can't take a picture or take numbers from the many pretty girls I was meeting around the world. Really, I wasn't having fun.I never really enjoyed any of those trips. Nobody knew what I was doing. I always have to crop him out of pictures. I lied a lot, covered tracks, it wasn't easy.Saving the money was hard too because if you vacation abroad, it means there is so much money. I had to live up to expectations. Friends lived in my house, I paid for everything.

I came to this guy so I can have some money to take care of my self, make savings, have fun with my friends and have some girls. It never worked that way. For all those years, I lived a double life, bisexual life, generally a big lie of a life. I knew I was wasting my time. I have skills and I am smart but I have ignored them. It took a while not to bruise his ego but I slowly started putting him off.
I moved to Lagos and got a good job. My friends are working now too. We are making enough money to have plenty fun, have girlfriends and go on holidays. I am no more homosexual. Nobody ever knew I was.

Living In The Moment Takes Time!
He seems like he can die or commit genocide for the sweet heart he is currently dating but so does he feel for his precious gadgets and Porsche, even his video game!
It's sad ladies, because it's the truth.
For well to do young guys, the pressure of finding the one and getting married is very less. They have a long free time to live in the moment before the next pressure which is getting married to one lady. Sadly ladies, no single ounce of pressure is perceived by young rich guys compared to the pressure you feel since you finished national service.

If you want to settle down, you might consider purging yourself of his fangs in you. The swag, the endless fun, the parties, the drugs, sex, travels, money. This is a dangerous snarl.
He picks you for this party but that just the way he picked to ride the Range instead of the Porsche. You suit the event.

High chances are you really wouldn't wait till he mans up to settle down. You will give up sooner or later. The sooner the better because the more you stay, the guy makes you heavily unavailable for the rest of mankind and yet you aren't the only lady he is seeing. By the time you manage to break out, you must have been a junkie with your stories everywhere. You are off the front shelves of the market, relegated to the warehouse like an old goods. Nobody shops there.
There is hope however. A welcome trend. 50 percent of the time, guys go back to the one lady who stuck it out with them. The babymama that rolled with them when they had it all and was there too when bad times called. They fought over side dudes and side chicks but still find themselves knocking on the door of the other. He might be like a venom or nicotine but that's all the evil he or she is.
Thing is, if you want to be that ride or die chick; to beat your boobs and say that you are the one he would walk down with. You have to figure out a way of twisting his faculties. He has to stop seeing you like an acquisition, like a Porsche and see you as queen. Nobody acquires a queen. A queen makes a man a king so she can be treated like that queen. Because living in the moment takes so much time. Trust me, you can't wait.

I really want to see more women thrive greatly in corporate organisations, public offices and government. A big congrats to Madam Mo Abudu @moabudu for the @forbes recognition for most successful women in Africa.
A lot of other women role models have emerged in Nigeria in the last five years, inspiring many young ladies to grow out of norms, shun societal regards and pursue independence. Beautiful and passionate. Role models like @genevievennaji @officiallindaIkeji, @tokemakinwa, @toyinlawani, @janemichaelnig and many more.
Many years ago, it was frowned upon and considered very callous or wayward for women to follow their dreams. Build a career or business. They were only required to be creative in home making and food making. This is changing and I'm glad!

Im also sad! Sorry, but the whole empowerment thing enjoys greater acceptance in Europe and America as against a slow and often rebellious stance it has in Africa, Asia and Middle East. I know why it is slow in Africa. It's funny but it is the darn truth!!!

Why do women still put so much importance to age difference when it comes to dating in this our Africa? Why don't they want empowerment in the dating industry? Who said your husband must be older than you? Who? Your mum? But you didn't listen to her when she said don't move to lekki and start a boutique right?
We love religion but I don't even think Jesus Christ said women must marry someone older. Bible verses, if I'm wrong.

It will be very difficult for women to totally win their campaign for seeming equality or get a good percentage of any equation if they maintain the mentality that is dating or marrying only someone older.

It's mysterious how a camera can bring out a side of us. A side most people are glad to see.
We compose our best countenances, wear the best smiles; however, there is a great irony if you want to go down to history.

The first photograph ever shot, the 1826 photo View from the Window at Le Gras, took a whopping 8 hours to expose. When Louis Daguerre introduced the daguerreotype in 1839, he managed to shave this time down to just 15 minutes. This was a revolutionary breakthrough for photography, but still not good enough for smile-friendly portraits The invention revolutionized landscape photography. Portraits, however, were still a nuisance. Good luck getting kids to sit still for family photos, let alone convincing adults to stare motionlessly for 15 minutes. So, photographers set up some simple rules: No talking. No adjusting. No sneezing. And, just to be safe, no smiling.

By the mid-20th century, photography had become much faster, much cheaper, and much more casual. People were also taking better care of their teeth. Still, it took some time for “Say cheese” to emerge — photographers actually started a different food: prunes.
Instead of telling subjects to say cheese, photographers in British studios apparently advised them to say prunes, which would lead to a tightening of the lips. (Loll the duck faces the ladies do now.) Then, in the US, Kodak started making cameras which ordinary people could afford to buy.

Obtaining Under False Pretence!

Last week, I instituted the Romance And Dating Crimes Commission (RDCC) to stem the many financial excesses in the Dating Industry.

Yea. Ending of last year, news came against the guys, stating that hence, if a guy lies in order to sleep with a girl, it can be considered rape. I don't know what to say on that. Sex laws favour women. No problem!

I have an issue however; why it is still not perceived as criminal, how women get away with false pretence and everything they obtained while under it. Guys have been deceived by fake butts, fake boobs, fake complexion, fake hair, fake eyes, fake voices, fake status, fake locations, been deceived by photo-editing softwares and too many filters.

In the Blind Dating sub sector, transactions go on daily and so much money made by the ladies under this guise. These monies are sent because hunters want to remain relevant until the meeting day and they are doing so because they found the perfect doll. Or so they thought.

Sources of revenues include new phone; if you want to reach her without a hitch, you buy a new phone cos the old one is faulty. Data subscriptions; if you want to chat. 1st flight fee... missed the flight. 2nd flight fee... mum fell sick. I-don't-work monthly allowance. Hair and clothes. Hospital bills. 3rd and final flight fee. Some ladies have an income benchmark of up to N300,000 least spent on them before they would eventually go on a date. (Kim Kardashian has successfully empowered women. Yet, they say she does nothing)

Yea, this is happening. Ofcourse, these ladies are mostly beautiful per se, and most hunters are rich (let's not say perverts please, let's say ermm...) Thrill-Seekers. They hunt and pay in digitals, while we are still left here with our catapults, deliberating on simple taxi fare.

There is God though.

RDCC is hoping to get the backing of the government too to prosecute obtainers under false pretence. Or let them pay taxes to the government as mentor Kim K does in the US. This will grow the national economy and GPD.

Certain churches have preached and instituted some very serious offensive strategies to conquer the enemies from the village.
Fire:
A new neighbour once called the fire service to the address of another neighbour because suddenly at midnight a young lady was screaming "fire! fire!." If the good samaritan had listened closely, she would have heard it was "Die by fire!! Die by fire!!"
Canes:
Some churches have a special service dedicated to flogging the devil, his demons and worshippers. Prepare for the most awkward nightof your life if you have been invited. Whence the time comes at midnight, seats will be cleared and members handle their canes. While shouting "die! die!" the floor is continously whipped until the canes scatter to tiny bits.

Enough energies are wasted because it is easier to call fingers and point names as to reasons why we fail.
Put energy to communal love. These energies could go towards purging yourself of negativity, re branding yourself and trying again and again knowing that the power to succeed or fail is all with you. God comes after you've had this knowledge. This knowledge is faith. Faith is work

Making money is like hitch hiking....

Yea, so, we were born stranded already in our life's journey (life's journey discussed in previous post of the pretty model in a little dress on the stairs) but then we got of age and ready to travel. 
Don't own cars so we have to hitch hike to destiny or a Lagos or Wall Street. Money is the driver.
Only because it spoke in a language none of us understood, most of us signalled to be dropped at the next bus stop or immediately.
You expected it to speak your mother tongue but it spoke maybe Swahili? Loll I don't blame you, safety first! 
You waited so long and found an English speaking driver. It soothes you. He dropped you quarter way. You waited again, found your mother tongue, he dropped you shortly. You will eventually get to your destination, I pray, to meet that Swahili speaking driver already there. He runs the place. He looked at the CV still in your hands, he greets you again, but you still don't understand. I appear behind you all smiles and translates what he had said. "Where are you going, friend; and what can you do for the people there?"
You hated yourself. Such a simple question! Lol.

An entrepreneur studies his environment, learns exactly what needs to be learnt, has a vision that must solve a problem and carry plans in his hands. He has a dogged faith or mission vision in corporate terms and ultimately, the risk of boarding a bus with strange foreigners is a risk he is very willing to take.

I'm writing this from the bus. Cos I like to converse and meet new people but no one in the bus understands me. They be making faces since I was picked. I'm almost frustrated but I know I'm headed the right way!

In Lagos, pedestrians cross major expressways directly under pedestrian bridges. A dangerous irony in a city where petrol laden truck drivers manoeuvre trucks as if they were Toyota cars; but that's not the story for this picture.

This is a rather very rare ambient moment of the very popular Ikorodu Road, towards Maryland, Lagos. It is not normaly this scanty. Among the busiest roads in the city at all times of the day. However, this irony of calmness in broad daylight captured by @stfayrouz for CadGalleryTags was only possible because of another irony. The annual massive exodus of residents of the city travelling to various origins for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
